Islam as a religion that is present in all tribes in the archipelago as a value system that integrates with the local culture, so this is often seen by people outside the tribe with Islam Minangkabau, Javanese Islam, and so on. The accumulation of cultures with various intercourses called multiculturalism. But the great possibility both can play an important role in shaping a new culture, because there is a dialogue between the orders of religious values that become the idealism of a religion with local cultural values. As a system of knowledge, religion is a belief system that is full of moral teachings and guidance of life must be studied, examined and then practiced by man in his life. In this case religion provides clues about the "good and bad that are inappropriate and inappropriate" and the "right and inappropriate". Religious values can form and develop human behavior in their daily lives. It is therefore not difficult to understand that having a common symbol is the most effective way to strengthen unity among religious followers. This is because the meaning of these symbols deviates far from the intellectual definitions so that the symbol's ability to unite is greater, whereas the intellectual definition causes division. Symbols can be shared because they are based on feelings that are not formulated too tightly. That is why Islam has historically come to various parts of the archipelago with a relatively peaceful atmosphere with almost no tension and conflict. Islam can easily be accepted by society as a religion that brings peace, even though at that time people have been religious and have their own belief in animism, dynamism, Hinduism and Buddhism. The spread of Islam causes the emergence of Islamic patterns and variants that have uniqueness and uniqueness. It must be realized that the existence of Islam in Indonesia is never single.

Islamic marriage rules in practice form values that are lived out and practiced in the context of cultural society so that they emerge as symbols as a form of the dialectical process between religious values and cultural values. As an example of the concept of dowry in Islam which has two dimensions, the universality of the values adhered to by all its adherents and also the value locality that is formed from the dialectical process that occurs between religious teachings and the local culture of the adherents. This was seen in the santri community in Karangbesuki Village, Malang City in determining the dowry in their marriage by identifying aspects of the normative dowry in the fiqh that they embraced into their marital culture.

Chapter two discusses the models, methods and value metrics used in this book. It presents the ecological model developed by sociologist Urie Bronfenbrenner, which places the child at the center of overlapping and intersecting microsystems (e.g., family, school, peer group) where children’s daily lives unfold. Encircling these microsystems are layers of exosystems (e.g., healthcare, justice systems and labor markets) where children may rarely go but that powerfully affect them. Surrounding and permeating the entire ecological diagram are macrosystemic forces, defined as the dominant ideas, values, prejudices, and powers of the surrounding society. The primary methods or frameworks for analysis deployed in the book are comparative legal method, sociology, ethnography and an environmentalist perspective, incorporating ideas like sustainability and the precautionary principle of avoiding harm. However, evaluating outcomes requires identifying a value system. Drawing on the work of Erik Erikson, the book proposes ecogenerism, a value system that treats the meeting of children’s essential needs and the welfare of succeeding generations as the paramount goals of society. The chapter closes with a description of how and why the two villages, Scanno, Italy and Cedar Key, Florida, were chosen to serve as petri dishes for comparative ethnographic study.

The article is devoted to rethinking methodological approaches in understanding of religion as a value by religious studies. A critical attitude to the previous experience of interpreting a religious phenomenon allows us to perceive religion as a value equal with other types of human self-awareness. This is prompted by the very status of religion in the modern world, which is changing under the influence of globalization and secularization. One of the trends of these processes is the departure from the restrictions of “sectarianism” and “nationalism” in religion to the expansion of the boundaries of understanding spirituality as a universal religious value. The article determines the value of religion in its ontological status, its existentiality, vitality, epistemological meaning, praxeological questionability, in eschatological perspective and hierarchical priority of spirituality, goodness and humanity. Based on this understanding of religion, the authors explicate it in the system of religious values that are implemented in the daily lives of adherents of a particular religion and entire society. The article presents materials of sociological surveys of both international, all-Ukrainian and local levels. The comparative analysis of the received results allows to draw a conclusion about universalization of religious values, to define features of youth perception of religion as a value.

Among Vhavenḓa, domba is an indigenous initiation institution that both men and women attend. This is a unique indigenous institution which prepares young men and young women together in order to understand the importance of marriage, child-birth and other aspects of life. And as a result, this paper outlines the use of the language variety associated with this institution as well as its educational significance among the Vhavenḓa. The use of this variety, when domba is in session, plays an important role in educating young men and women to be responsible for their families and properties. In addition, cultural values and norms which are no longer observed today in many African communities are also taught by this institution. Although this variety promotes safe sex and sex only after marriage, it has also served as a breeding ground for a gendered variety of the language because it advocates that men and women should not be treated equally. Despite some difficulties, an understanding of the role played by the domba language variety in education by the Venda people and of the education received by initiates in this institution will allow us to recapture the space we need to reinvent ourselves, and to fashion knowledge systems and strategies to ensure a responsible adult life. This will empower us to become independent people capable of producing a value system worthy of our dignity.

This article aims to determine the exemplary efforts to mitigate the intolerance of Indonesia that spreads among children based on the cultural values of the Bugis Tribe, including Sipakatau, Sipakainge, and Sipakalebbi, as an effort to ensure the right to freedom guaranteed in the 1945 Constitution and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. This type of legal-normative research is descriptive-prescriptive, focusing on examining primary legal materials and legal materials, using statutory, conceptual, and historical approaches. The results of the study show that the cultural values of Sipakatau, Sipakainge, and Sipakalebbi, which are the value system or way of life of the Bugis tribe, contain the meaning of religious tolerance, namely Sipakatau implies mutual respect for God's creation; Sipakinge, reminding each other not to do things in the form of disrespect for people of different religions; and Sipakalebbi with the meaning of loving fellow-creatures regardless of religion. Based on its authority, the Indonesian government should formulate policies to internalize tolerance based on the cultural values of Sipakatau, Sipakainge, and Sipakalebbi. This can be done by referring to the findings as a sociological formulation of regional regulations regarding early childhood education curriculum.
