The study examines the impact made by the efforts of Bauchi State Government in the development of infrastructure represented by the level of capital expenditure incurred through the utilization of the state’s revenues. Secondary data was obtained from the government’s Annual Financial Statements for the period 2006 to 2018. Ordinary Least Square regression was employed as the technique of analysis. The findings of the study revealed that share of allocation received from the federation account as well as debt both had a positive and significant influence in the provision of infrastructure while internally generated revenue, showed a negative and significant relationship. Other receipts comprising of contributions from Local Governments for the execution of joint projects as well as local and foreign grants and assistance received indicated a positive but insignificant relationship. The study recommends that policy makers should ensure a reasonable allocation of federation account revenues towards capital projects implementation. Efforts at the mobilization of internally generated revenue and grants should be intensified with funds realized used along with funding drawn from the Local Governments as well as proceeds of debts raised towards the provision of the infrastructural needs of the state.

This study investigates the impact of fuel price adjusment on changes in fuel consumption and inflation in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data obtained from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade, Bank Indonesia, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), and PT Pertamina (Persero) from 2006 to 2016 and analyzed by using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. Research showed, if the government increases Premium Gasoline's price by 10%, in average its consumption would decrease around 2,99 %. However, if the Pertamax Gasoline's price increases, the consumption of Premium Gasoline would also increase due to substitution effect. Every 10% increase in Subsidized Diesel's price, in average its consumption would decrease around 4,80 % and vice versa. However, if the Pertamina dex's price increases, the consumption of Subsidized Diesel would also increase due to substitution effect. Moreover, IDR1.000/L increase in Premium Gasoline's Price would contribute 1,10 % to the inflation rate. On the other hand, increase in Subsidized Diesel's price does not contribute to the inflation rate.

The study examined the effect of internally generated revenue on budget implementation in Ekiti State. Specifically the study analyzed trends of components of internally generated revenue in Ekiti state including taxes, fines & fees, licenses, earnings and sales, interest and dividend, evaluated the relative impact of internally generated revenue components on budget implementation, and also  analyzed the causal relationship between internally generated revenue components and budget implementation in Ekiti state. The study made use of time series secondary data sourced from the annual budget of Ekiti state for a period of ten years spanning form 2007 to 2016. Data collated were analyzed with trend analysis, descriptive analyzes, correlation analysis, ordinary least square regression analysis and granger causality analysis. Result revealed that components of internally generated revenue in Ekiti State has increased considerably over the last ten years, relative impact of taxes on expenditure implementation stood at 4.754741(p=0.6232 > 0.05), relative impact of fines and fees on expenditure implementation stood at 0.354370 (P=0.9624 > 0.05), relative impact of licenses on expenditure implementation stood at 1.312830 (p=0.8427 > 0.05), relative impact of earnings and sales on expenditure implementation stood at 0.166495 (p=0.9877 > 0.05), relative impact of interest and dividend on expenditure implementation stood at 2.478020(p=0.7849 > 0.05), and that there is no causal relationship between components of internally generated revenue and expenditure implementation in Ekiti state. It was concluded that though internally generated revenue components identified in the study trended predominantly upwards over the last ten years, their relative impact on the level of budget implementation is not significant. More so the study established that there is no causal relationship between components of internally generated revenue and budget implementation. The study therefore recommended that Ekiti State Government should device a new framework for boosting the level of internally generated revenue in the state, in such a way that potentials and resources lying unused in the state will be harmonize to foster effective and efficient budget implementation. Government in the state should devise an Information Technology driven revenue mobilization mechanisms to ensure that revenue generated from all sources such as taxes, fines & fees, licenses, earnings & sales, interest and dividend are monitored and properly accounted for, also there is need for reduction of external borrowing that can culminate into excessive deduction in the statutory allocation, which could dampen the capacity of sustaining efficient level of budget implementation in the state.

The importance of agricultural surplus for the structural transformation accompanying economic growth is often addressed by development economists. In view of this, the study empirically assesses the impact of agricultural finance on the growth of Nigerian economy. This paper employed secondary data and econometric techniques of Ordinary Least Square (OLS) of multiple regression estimates. The result of the model used suggests that the productivity of investment will be more appropriately financed with resources administered by the commercial and specialized financial institutions. And also, that there are an urgent and sincere needs to expand the credit size to the agricultural sector in order to enhance the productivity growth of the sector. It is recommended that maintenance of credible macroeconomic policies that is pro-investment in overhauling the Agricultural Sector and debt-equity swap option are necessary for an agricultural-led economic growth.

This research examined the direct and indirect impact of taxation on the Nigerian economic growth. This research centered on two major objectives by focusing on the trend of direct and indirect tax and the impact of the Nigerian tax system on the growth of the economy.  The research adopted the descriptive research design.  The secondary source of data was also engaged as this data was from CBN statistical bulletin and the annual reports from 1994-2013. The research also used the ordinary least square regression technique. With the use of E-views 7.1 to analyze the data, the first objective was achieved by using graphical analysis while the second objective used ordinary least square regression analysis. The results reveal that the direct and indirect tax have a positive impact on the economy of Nigeria. Therefore, it is recommended that government should take advantage of taxation and promote tax system in Nigeria.

This study x-ray’s the interest rates regime in Nigeria as it affects the performance of the Nigerian Capital Market. In order to achieve this objective, relevant data for a period of 33 years spanning from 1981 – 2013 were obtained from the Factbook of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, CBN Statistical Bulletin as well as the annual accounts of quoted firms for the relevant years. The data obtained were analysed with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) technique. The result from our analysis reveal among others that changes in interest rate regimes have majorly influenced the level of the performance of the Nigerian Capital Market. Based on the above, we recommend that capital market regulators and other regulatory agencies should keep an eye on movements in interest rates and the Minimum Rediscount Rate (MRR) (now MPR) and watch their trend. We also recommend that efforts must be put in place to establish a policy review and reassessment mechanism that would help in assessing the impact of selected policy measures on the economy so that policy makers would know the effectiveness and efficiency of designed policies and be guided in the policy review and development process in the country.

This study empirically examine the impact of government expenditure on education on human capital development in Kaduna State over the last 15 years (2000-2015) using econometrics model with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) technique. The paper test for presence of stationary between the variables using Augmented Dickey Fuller (ADF) and autocorrelationusing Durbin Watson statistics. The results reveals all the variables were not stationary in levels except capital expenditure (CE) and Primary schools enrolment (PE) while the rest were stationary at second difference. DW shows presence of serial correlation. The regression results indicated that government expenditure on education have significant impact on human capital development in Kaduna State. It could therefore be recommended that the state government should increase its capital and recurrent expenditure on education, ensure proper management and monitory of funds made for the teachers, constant payment of teachers salaries and allowances in a manner that it will raise the state production capacity. The state should construct addition primary and secondary schools across the state, with modern facilities, and employ more teachers.

The present paper gives the information about the impact of Farmer Producer Organisation on farmers income. The data was collected from both the members of FPO and non- members regarding the socio-economic factors and farming details of farmers. Logistic regression which was a binary regression model was used for determining the factors influencing the farmers to join as group members and then ordinary least square regression was estimated to study the impact of FPOs on farmers income by including inverse mills ratio which was calculated in logistic regression model, to remove the selection bias. The results showed that education, distance to market and age are the factors determining the farmers to join as members of FPO. The impact study results showed that group membership, hired labour, crop production area, share of crop sold and market size are the factors that are positively significant and increasing the farmers income.

When traditional financial institutions faced difficulties in the task of assisting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) with capital allocations, crowdfunding can upsurge as an innovative and vibrant vehicle that can support and assist the activity of such MSME’s, by financing their activity and instrumenting the process of risk-sharing. Simultaneously with its enormous growth and popularity, crowdfunding is faced by several key challenges, one of biggest such challenges referring to the problem of information asymmetry that can exist between fundraisers and potential backers. Based on the signaling theory, a research taxonomy has been developed for a comparative analysis between China and the UK. This has been accomplished by retrieving secondary data from the following crowdfunding platforms: Dreamore (Chinese platform) and Crowdfunder (UK platform). The objective of the study is to investigate both the effect and the impact that signals (goal setting, project comments and updates) have upon mitigating the problem of information asymmetry, in order to make the project successful. We have thus deployed an Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression and validated the models through a robustness check. The findings reveal that signals actively mitigate the problem of information asymmetry in both countries, but this varies in the sense that higher goal setting has a more positive/impactful relationship with project success in the UK than it does in China. Project comments are more positively associated with project success in China as compared to the UK, whereas project updates are more negatively related to project success in China as compared to the UK. These findings demonstrate the importance that signals have upon successful crowdfunding activities/campaigns, highlighting the theoretical and practical influence and relevance for potential fundraisers in the two aforementioned economies.
