Background: Photoaging is premature skin aging caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that inhibits the tyrosinase enzyme that can reduce pigmentation. Microneedling procedure can improve the penetration of topical vitamin C, and it has skin rejuvenating effects to reduce wrinkles and minimize pore size. Purpose: The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of topical vitamin C application after microneedling intervention for the clinical improvement of photoaging. Methods: Twenty-four women with photoaged skin participated in this randomization study, and they were divided into control and intervention groups. Solution of 0.9% NaCl and microneedling were performed to control group, and topical vitamin C and microneedling were performed to intervention group. Three intervention sessions were repeated at a 2 week interval. Signs of photoaging such as pigmentation, wrinkles, and pores were evaluated using Metis DBQ3-1, and the data were obtained numerically. Result: The data analysis revealed a significant improvement in pigmentation in the intervention group compared to control group (p<0.05). Wrinkles and pores evaluation revealed no significant difference between the control and intervention groups. Conclusion: Topical vitamin C after microneedling procedure has provided a significant improvement in pigmentation compared to NaCl 0.9% after microneedling.

Linear growth retardation in childhood has decreased over the past few decades, but has not had a positive effect. In Indonesia, the change in the prevalence of stunting is around 37%. The nutritional status of pregnant women plays an important role in the incidence of stunting, which will be seen at the age of <5 years in 1000 days of their life. Pregnant women with poor nutrition and significant infection can give birth to a baby with stunting. For this reason, nutritional intake is needed, one of the animal foods that are high in protein is rebon shrimp about 62.4 g / 100 grams of dried shrimp. Protein has an important component so it is necessary for the physical development of children. The purpose of this study was to analyze serum protein levels before and after consuming rebon shrimp based PMT powder in the intervention group and control group and to analyze differences in serum protein levels for pregnant women before and after consuming PMT Koya powder made from rebon shrimp between the control and intervention groups. . This type of research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method using the pre post test control group design approach. The number of respondents was 30 people who were divided into 2 groups, namely the intervention group and the control group. The intervention group was given koya powder as much as 100 grams / day for 7 days, assuming the fulfillment of 70 KKal. Introduction: Anemia is a biggest health in the world. According to WHO the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women was 41,8%. Based on the results of Riskesdas that the proportion of anemia in pregnant women in 2013 was 37,1% and in 2018 of 48,9%. To prevent anemia, pregnant women are expected to get at least 90 iron tablets during pregnancy and consume iron-rich foods. Avocados have the nutrients of vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, iron, folic acid, potassium, calories and fat. Iron in avocados is useful for the formation of red blood cells, preventing and treating anemia. Vitamin C helps to absorb iron and calcium Methods: This study aims to determine the effect of Fe + avocado juice (Persea Americana Mill) to haemoglobin levels of second trimester pregnant women in Suryani independent clinic of Medan Johor sub district in 2019. This type of research was Quasi Experiment with Pre Test and Post Test With Control Group Design. The population of this research was all 42 pregnant women with 30 purposive sampling techniques. Results and Discussion: Based on the collection and analysis of data with an average result of haemoglobin in second trimester pregnant women increased by 0,87 gr/dl in the intervention group and 0,8 gr/dl in the control group. There are significant differences between before and after treartment in the intervention group and the control group. In the intervention group and the control group before the treatment there can be no difference which means the data is homogeneous and after the treatment there can be no significant difference which means that Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected. Conclusion: Pregnant women who have Hb levels below normal may be given Fe tablets alone or can be combined to consume avocado juice.

Background: Background The presence of remodeling process on the pathogenesis of asthma that involves some growth factors such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF) causes the chronicity of the disease. The role of zinc on the pathogenesis of asthma is being widely investigated. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between EGF and FGF2 and clinical improvement of asthma after  zinc supplementation. Methods: A quasi-experimental study was conducted in Outpatient Clinic Dr. Soetomo Hospital. The samples were persistent asthma patients from 6-15 years old who received controller therapy. The samples were divided into 2 groups, those who received zinc supplementation as the intervention group, and who received pacebo as the control. EGF and FGF2 plasma level of both groups were measured, and clinical improvement was evaluated with Childhood Asthma Control Test (C-ACT).Results: There were 11 patients who received zinc supplementation and 12 patients in the control group. There was a significant difference (p = 0.000) on the increase of EGF level in the intervention group (55.59 ± 6.48) than the control (5.35 ± 5.55). There was a significant difference (p = 0.000) on the increase of the FGF2 level in the intervention group (6.37 ± 1.41) than the control (0.72 ± 0.48). The increase of EGF (r = 0.592; p = 0.003) and FGF2 (r = 0.607; p = 0.002) would be followed by the increase of C-ACT scores. Conclusion: Zinc supplementation increase EGF and FGF2 levels. This improvement is correlated with clinical improvement of patients.

Mother-infant attachment is an intimate, lasting and satisfying relationship that leads to better cognitive, emotional and social growth of the infant. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of breastfeeding training by role-play on mother-infant attachment behaviours. This research was a randomised clinical trial (parallel design). Inclusion criteria were: no history of mental disorders; ability to read and write the Persian language to complete the questionnaire; no history of drug and tobacco intake in primigravida women. The sample comprised 100 pregnant women (in 2 groups), selected through simple random sampling at healthcare centres. The researcher reviewed prenatal care registries of selected healthcare centres and extracted the names of pregnant women in their early third trimester. The data were imported into randomisation software. The control group received routine breastfeeding training, while the intervention group received routine training together with training through role-play. The data collection tool was the Maternal Behaviour Inventory Questionnaire. Consequently 75 samples were analysed in SPSS16. Independent t-tests and chi-square tests were used to examine the difference between the two groups. Results showed that the mean score of mother-infant attachment one week after delivery was significantly higher in the intervention group in comparison to that in the control group (p<0.001). No significant difference was observed between the two groups in maternal age, age of marriage, neonatal gender, maternal employment and education, number of parity, and number of abortions (P>0.05). Since breastfeeding training through role-play could affect mother-infant attachment, it is suggested that this type of training should be provided for pregnant women to promote mother-infant attachment and exclusive breastfeeding.

Introduction: Atrophic vaginitis is a common problem in postmenopausal women and results from decreased levels of blood estrogen. It is associated with symptoms of itching, burning, dyspareunia, and postmenopausal bleeding. The present study evaluated the effects of fenugreek extract on atrophic vaginitis. Materials and Methods: This randomized controlled clinical trial was performed on 60 postmenopausal women in Ardabil, Iran, in 2018. The participants were selected using block randomization with the allocation ratio 1:1. Those in the intervention group received 0.5g (the applicator filled to the half-full mark) fenugreek vaginal cream 5% twice a week for 12 weeks. The control group received conjugated estrogens vaginal cream at the dose of 0.625 mg (the applicator filled to the half-full mark) containing 0.3 mg of conjugated estrogens. Atrophic vaginitis was evaluated before and after the treatment through clinical examination, clinical signs, and measurement of Vaginal Maturation Index (VMI). Findings: After the 12-week intervention and modification of the baseline score, the mean (standard error) score for atrophic vaginitis signs was 3.100 (1.43-4.75). This difference was statistically significant in intragroup comparison and in favor of the control group in intergroup comparison (p=0.001). VMI was less than 49% in 86.7% and 46.7% of the participants in the intervention and control groups, respectively. This was a significant difference in favor of the control group (p=0.001). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that total fenugreek extract could be effective in treating signs of atrophic vaginitis, but it was not as effective as ultra-low-dose estrogen.

Background:Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is one of the most common complications of diabetic patients. Mostly, non-healing DFU leads to infection, gangrene, amputation and even death. High costs and poor healing of the wounds need a new treatment such as alternative medicine. So, the aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of Aloe vera/ Plantago major gel (Plantavera gel) in healing of DFUMethods:Forty patients with DFU enrolled in a double-blind randomized clinical trial. The patients who were randomly assigned into the intervention group (n = 20), received topical Plantavera gel in addition to the routine cares, whereas the patients in the control group (n = 20), received topical Placebo gel in addition to the routine cares. Intervention was done twice a day for 4 weeks in the both groups. Photography and an evaluation of DFU healing were conducted by a checklist and then were scored at baseline and at the end of each week. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS software. Results:At the end of the study, there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of total ulcer score (P<0.001) and Plantavera gel significantly reduced the ulcer surface comparing with the control group (P=0.039). However, there was not a significant difference between the two groups (P=0.263) in terms of the ulcer depth. During this study, no side effect was observed for Plantavera gel in the intervention group. Conclusion:Topical Plantavera gel seems to be an effective, cheap and safe treatment. Of course, further studies are required to confirm the properties of the wound healing of this gel.
