The rapid developments and diffusion of new technologies abruptly changed world dynamics. This study pursued the motivational factors (controlled and autonomous) and technology factors (perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness) to predict the students perceived satisfaction and continued intention toward MOOCs. Using an online survey, this research collected data from 333 students, and analysis performed through PLS-SEM. The findings revealed that controlled motivation positively influenced the perceived satisfaction. However, autonomous motivation positively affected students perceived satisfaction and continued intention toward MOOCs. The technology factors such as PEU strongly impacted PU. Similarly, PU positively impacted students perceived satisfaction and continued intention toward MOOCs. This research guides essential theoretical insights and provides practical guidelines to educational institutions and technologists to develop and implement systems and strategies in online environments.

Millennials quickly adapt to new technologies and have been found to use voice technology daily. This study follows the technology acceptance model (TAM) developed by Davis to explain the relationships between perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), perceived enjoyment (PE), and perceived innovativeness (PI) to behavioral intention (BI) for Millennials. An online survey generated 204 usable responses through Amazon Mechanical Turk. Multiple regression analyses supported the relationship of PEOU to PU, PU, PE, PI to BI, and PEOU was not found to influence BI in this study. The findings of this study indicate that consumers are ready to purchase through voice-activated technologies, but the current platform needs to be adapted so that it is easier to use.

Increasing consensus among information systems researchers suggests that personality accounts for the effective use of several technologies, yet less is known about the process through which personality affects user perceptions of technology acceptance. This study, therefore, examined whether personality is associated with student perceptions of audiovisual technology acceptance, and whether general self-efficacy mediates this association. In total, 244 students completed an online survey including measures of personality, general self-efficacy, and perceptions of audiovisual technology acceptance. Canonical correlation uncovered significant associations between personality and student beliefs about technology use. Results further revealed that general self-efficacy fully mediated the effects of openness to experience and neuroticism on Perceived Ease of Use, whereas the association between agreeableness and Perceived Usefulness was partially mediated by self-efficacy beliefs. The fact that personality influences students’ perceptions of technology acceptance both directly and indirectly should not remain unnoticed, especially when designing intervention programs to enhance their academic performance.

<p>Social media has become a major source of communication and collaboration between individuals and among groups. The current paper investigates the underlying motives of social media adoption. The research identifies various determinants such as perceived connectedness, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use as the major influencers of social media adoption intention. Using the sample from Saudi Arabia an online survey is conducted. Structural equation modeling has been used to test the proposed relationships. The results reveal that individuals’ perceived connectedness and perceived enjoyment act as stimuli for their social media adoption intention. Moreover, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness mediate these stimuli and the individuals’ social media adoption intention. The paper concludes with the recommendations for the academicians and the social media designers/developers.</p>

Abstrak: Faktor Penentu Kualitas Layanan dan Minat untuk Melanjutkan Penggunaan Sistem Pelaporan Online. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, kenyamanan, dan keamanan terhadap kualitas layanan dan minat untuk melanjutkan menggunakan SIPP online di BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei online kepada 50 perusahaan peserta BPJS Ketenagakerjaan dengan segmentasi Platinum dan Gold. Kuesioner online diisi oleh Kepala Bagian Sumber Daya Manusia. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan PLS-SEM. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kualitas layanan secara signifikan dipengaruhi oleh perceived ease of use dan kenyamanan, sedangkan minat melanjutkan penggunaan SIPP online hanya dipengaruhi oleh perceived usefulness. Kata Kunci: minat melanjutkan penggunaan, kualitas layanan, sistem pelaporan online Abstract: Determinants of Service Quality and Continuance Intention to Use Online Reporting System. This study aims to analyze the effect of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, convenience, and security towards service quality and continuance intention to use SIPP online at BPJS Employment. This study uses online survey method to 50 companies participating in BPJS Employment with Platinum and Gold segmentation. The online questionnaire was filled by the head of Human Resources Department. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results show that service quality was significantly influenced by perceived ease of use and convenience, while continuance intention to use SIPP online was only influenced by perceived usefulness. Keywords: continuance intention, service quality, online reporting system

The emerging online economy in recent years has facilitated the rapid growth of e-commerce, such as Internet bank, e-wallet, and electronic bidding. Network fellowship auction is a collective effort by people who network and pool their money together by Internet in order to invest in and support efforts initiated by other people or organizations. Network fellowship auction has replaced conventional fellowship auction by offering a new safer and faster financial instrument. This research investigated the determinants of network fellowship auction user acceptance, including consumer perceived risk, perceived value, computer self-efficacy, and product involvement. An online survey was used with a sample of 446 respondents. Structural equation models (SEM) were used to examine hypotheses in the theoretical framework. The results showed that consumer perceived risk substantially negatively influenced perceived ease of use and intention; consumer perceived value positively influenced perceived usefulness; consumer computer self-efficacy positively influenced perceived ease of use. Additionally, consumer perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and product involvement positively influenced consumer intention.

Cloud computing has become increasingly popular among users and businesses around the world, and education is no exception. Cloud computing can bring an increased number of benefits to an educational setting, not only for its cost effectiveness, but also for the thirst for technology that college students have today, which allows learning and adopting to these new technologies easier for them. This study aims at investigating how cloud computing is perceived by college students and which factors have a tendency to encourage or discourage them to accept the cloud computing as part of their course curriculum. The results in this study reveal that all five factors, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived security, perceive speed of access, and perceived cost of usage are factors that play an important role in encouraging students to accept cloud computing as part of their core curriculum.

PurposeIn the current business environment, more uncertain than ever before, understanding consumer behavior is an integral part of an organization's strategic planning and execution process. It is the key driver for becoming a market leader. Therefore, it is important that all processes in business are customer centric. Marketers need to harness big data by engaging in data driven-marketing (DDM) to help organizations choose the “right” customers, to “keep” and “grow” them and to sustain “growth” and “profitability”. This research examines DDM adoption practices and how companies can aim to enhance shareholder value by bringing about “customer centricity”.Design/methodology/approachAn online survey conducted in 2016 received 180 responses from junior, middle and senior executives. Of the total responses, 26% were from senior management, 39% from middle management and the remaining 35% from junior management. Industries represented in the survey included retail, BFSI, healthcare and government, automobile, telecommunication, transport and logistics and IT. Other industries represented were aviation, marketing research and consulting, hospitality, advertising and media and human resource.FindingsSuccess of DDM depends upon how well an organization embraces the practice. The first and foremost indicator of an organization's commitment is the extent of resources invested for DDM. Respondents were divided into four categories; Laggards, Dabblers, Contenders and Leaders based on their “current level of investments” and “willingness to enhance investments” soon.Research limitations/implicationsWith storming digital age and the development of analytics, the process of decision-making has gained significant importance. Judgment and intuition too are critical to the process. Choosing an appropriate action cannot be done strictly on a rational basis.Practical implicationsThe results of the study offer interesting implications for managing the growing sea of data. An iterative and incremental approach is the need of the hour, even if it has to start with baby steps, to invest in and reap the fruits of DDM. The intention to use any system is always dependent on two primary belief factors: perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use; however, attitudes and social factors are equally important.Originality/valueThere is a dearth of knowledge with regards to who is and is not adopting DDM, and how best big data can be harnessed for enhancing effectiveness and efficiency of marketing budget. It is, therefore, imperative to build a knowledge base on DDM practices, challenges and opportunities. Better use of data can help companies enhance shareholder value by bringing about “customer centricity”.

A research about factors that lead students to choose online courses, as well as the acceptance of these courses, can provide very relevant information for higher education institutions’ decision makers to amend these offers to students’ interests and needs. An investigation through questionnaire was developed involving students who attended online post-graduate courses. It was intended to know which factors affect students' decision to opt for postgraduate online courses. A model, based on the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model), was tested to find out what factors determine the intention to use online learning. The results shows that most respondents favour online courses and that their decision, when choosing this type of course, is mainly influenced by time management flexibility, avoiding going to school and the course curriculum interest. The test of the model, with structural equations, shows that attitude regarding online courses and perceived usefulness are factors that predict the intention to use. It was also concluded that the perceived ease of use induces a direct and indirect effect on the intention to use. The most significant results are consistent with published studies and can help the higher education institutions to define offer and communication strategies to reach a greater number of candidates for online learning.

This study, using an observational design, assessed the effect of digital educational games on students’ intention to quit smoking. Specifically, a series of digital games were developed to encourage smoking cessation and enhance students’ engagement with the material. Three determinants of engagement were tested: perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and perceived satisfaction. Usability assessments were performed using a structured questionnaire and usability-testing software (Morae). Most students reported that the games were easy to use (73.3–93.3%), useful (60.0–83.3%) and satisfactory (66.7–70.0%). After using the games, approximately half (46.7–53.3%) reported that they intended to quit smoking. After controlling for gender and age, multiple regression analysis revealed that only perceived usefulness statistically significantly contributed to intention to quit (β = 2.38, p < 0.05). ‘Taiko Drumming’ showed the highest number of mouse clicks (67.23), and the lowest time between inputs (7.88 s). It also received the most positive feedback (17 marks). These findings show that integrating learners’ experiences into the development of learning material can improve learning effectiveness.

Autonomous vehicles (AVs) have been reported to improve road safety, reduce traffic congestion, and increase urban mobility. However, the high price of AVs is currently a challenge for most consumers. Robo-taxi services, with ride-sharing services and AVs, are regarded as a good approach to solving this problem. As some companies have started testing Robo-taxis on the actual road, it has become important to investigate public adoption of Robo-taxi services before they are more widely introduced to the market. This study aims to explain and predict users’ acceptance of Robo-taxis by extending the Technology Acceptance Model by including the construct of social influence. Data were collected from an online survey in China and analyzed using linear regression models. The results indicate that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and social influence have significant positive correlations with people’s behavior intentions to use Robo-taxis. Perceived ease of use further has an indirect effect on intention to use via perceived usefulness. The results of this study can serve as good references for policymakers, operators, and future transport researchers.
