Aims: This study aimed to optimize the levels of gibberellic acid (GA3) and plant spacing on growth and yield of lettuce. Study Design: The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. Place and Duration of Study: Horticulture farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207, from November 2013 to January 2014. Methodology: The experiment consisted of two factors. Factor A- two levels of gibberellic acid (GA3,) application, viz. G1= 25 ppm and G2= 50 ppm in relation to a control G0 and factor B- four plant spacing viz. S1=15cm x 15cm, S2=20 cm x 20 cm, S3=25 cm x 25 cm and S4=30 cm x 30 cm. GA3 was applied twice as a foliar application by hand sprayer at 20 and 30 days after sowing. First, second and final harvesting was done at 25, 35 and 45 days after sowing respectively. Results: The growth and yield characters of lettuce showed significant variation for different levels of GA3 and plant spacing. Among GA3 levels, 25 ppm GA3 produced the maximum number of leaves (15.6), leaf area (283.9 cm2), fresh weight (91.6 g plant-1), dry weight (11.8 g plant-1), fresh yield (1794 g plot-1) and gross yield (12 t ha-1) at final harvesting compared to control where GA3 was not used. Under plant spacing, highest plant height (17.5 cm), leaf area (281.1 cm2), fresh weight (99.1 g plant-1) and dry weight (12.1 g plant-1) was revealed from wider spacing 30 cm x 30 cm followed by optimum spacing 25cm x 25cm. Meanwhile, closure spacing 15 cm x 15 cm showed maximum fresh yield (1710 g plant-1) and gross yield (15.5 t ha-1) due to higher plant density at final harvesting. Besides, lower chlorophyll content (0.43%) and the highest number of leaves (16.2) was found from 25 cm x 25 cm at final harvesting. So, optimum spacing 25 cm x 25 cm would be more suitable considering different points of view. Moreover, the treatment combinations 25 ppm GA3 with 25 cm x 25 cm exhibited highest benefit-cost ratio (2.04) than other treatments. Conclusions: It is concluded that the combinations 25 ppm GA3 application with 25cm x 25cm spacing would be optimum for better growth and yield of lettuce

Semanggi (Marsilea crenata Presl.) is one of the aquatic plants that have been widely used by the community as food and medicinal raw materials. One of the important factors in cultivating clover is optimal fertilizer management. The incorporation of organic and inorganic nutrients has an effect on soil fertility has been repeatedly demonstrated in several studies, but there are not specific guidelines on clover cultivation. The challenge now is to combine organic matter of different qualities with inorganic fertilizers to optimize nutrient availability for the clover plant. The results of research on clover cultivation have also not been widely carried out. Therefore, it is very important to do this research with the aim of knowing the optimal effect of organic (cow manure) and inorganic (nitrogen, potassium) fertilizers on the growth and yield of clover (Marsilea crenata Presl.). The research was conducted at the Screen House of the Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University. The study was designed using a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 8 (eight) treatment combinations of soil types and fertilization [inorganic (N, K) cow manure organic fertilizer (CM)], namely: P0 = soil, without fertilizer; P1 = soil, 138 kg N ha-1; P2 = soil, 136 kg K ha-1; P3 = soil, N and K, 138 and 136 kg ha-1; P4 = soil, 20x103kg of cow manure ha-1; P5 = soil, 20x103 kg of cow manure ha-1, 138 kg N ha-1; P6 = soil, 20x103 kg of cow manure ha-1, 136 kg K ha-1; P7 = soil, 20x103 kg of cow manure ha-1, N and K, 138 and 136 kg ha-1 with 3 replications, so that 24 experimental units were obtained. Each experimental unit consisted of 5 plants. Growth observations were observed destructively at the ages of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32 days after planting (DAP). The results showed that there was an increase in the growth and yield of biomass in the soil combination, 20x103 kg of cow manure ha-1 (P4) was compared with the treatment without the addition of organic fertilizers (cow manure) on plant growth and yield parameters, such as stolon length (74.78 cm), number of leaves (160.44), leaf area (1379.28 cm2), root length (23.85 cm), stomata density and number of stomata (13.25); Stomata width (10.87 cm); Stomata length (19.76 cm), leaf fresh weight (12,907 g), leaf dry weight (1,802 g), total fresh weight 210,830 g, total dry weight 7,823 g, leaf harvest fresh weight (64.19 g); stalk (130.54 g); root (79.75 g); total 274.48 g), harvest dry weight of leaves (11.36 g); stalk (24.88 g); root (9.55 g); a total of 45.78 g) and the chlorophyll a content (0.804 mg.g-1); chlorophyll b (1.121mg.g-1); and total chlorophyll (1.924 mg.g-1).

Nutrient availability affected plant growth and yield. This study aimed to examine the effect of interval application and fertigation frequency toward plant growth and yield, and further determined the most proper fertigation interval and frequency that support the highest plant growth and yield. Experiment was arranged in Split plot randomized Completely Block Design. The main plots were interval of nutrient application, i.e., 3 days interval, 6 days interval, 9 days interval. The sub plots were the frequency of nutrient application, i.e., once/day, 2 times/day, 3 times/day. The plot size for each treatment was 2.5 m×1.3 m and plant spacing was 15 cm×20 cm. Space between beds was 1 m. Red onions (Bima variety) were planting in a raised bed covered with silver black polythene mulch. Before planting, 5 ton/ha manure and 1 ton/ha lime were mix with the soil. Fipronil 1.5% was applied with dose 8 kg/ha to control grubs. Nutrient was mixture between liquid organic fertilizer (7.5 mL/L), rabbit urin (5mL/L) and AB Mix (7.5 mL/L A+7.5 mL B). The nutrient was dispensed 150 mL/plant according to treatment using fertigation system operated remotely using Internet of Things. The nutrient was given from 14 DAP (Days After Planting) until 68 DAP. Irrigation water was dispensed 150 mL daily in the same way. The interval of fertigation significantly affected the growth of red onion (plant height, number of leaves and number of yield). Three days interval of nutrient supply resulted in the tallest plant, highest number of plant leaves, and highest number of bulbs. However, the frequency of nutrient supply daily significantly affected the yield of red onion. The application of nutrient three times/day provided the highest yield (economical dry weight). Further research to examine the effect of fertigation of red onion quality is required.

<i>Bombax ceiba</i> is an important agroforestry tree species widely distributed throughout the world. It has been extensively grown and planted for eras in hot and dry regions and high humidity zones of southern Asia. The main objective of this research was to evaluate the growth response of <i>B. ceiba</i> in response to different compost treatments. Different morphological traits (plant height, stem height, root length) and biomass (shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight and root/shoot ratio) were measured. Two experiments (pot experiment = seedlings) and (field experiment = saplings) were conducted simultaneously. Different compost treatments: (T0) = (Compost 0% + Soil 0%), (T1) = (Compost 25% + Soil 75%), (T2) = (Compost 50% + Soil 50%), (T3) = (Compost 75% + Soil 25%), (T4) = (Compost 100% + Soil 0%) were applied in the growing media. Results demonstrated that plant growth increased with the increment in compost application. In the pot experiment, <i>B. ceiba</i> exhibited its better growth under 75% of compost application, whereas in the field experiment, 100% compost was helpful for the best production of <i>B. ceiba</i>. Overall, positive effects of compost were observed for the growth of <i>B. ceiba</i>. The plant growth was increased greatly in response to the better content of organic fertilizer, and it was determined that compost enhances soil fertility. It should be implemented as organic fertilizer in agroforestry operations for optimizing plant growth and yield.

<em>Pruning on tea plants is an ecophysiological manipulation to initiate the growth of new shoots as the formation of pecco shoots. Cytokinin, one of which is benzyl amino purine (BAP), is a growth regulator that can be applied to stimulate shoot initiation after being pruned. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of pruning and cytokinin application on the growth and yield of tea. The study was conducted at the Experimental Station of the Tea and Quinine Research Center, Gambung at an altitude of 1250 m above sea level (asl), from June to August 2018. Plant material used in this study was a 7-year-old GMB 7 clone. The exerimental design used was a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of eight treatment combinations with four replications and contained 32 experimental units. The treatments used were clean and jambul/ajir pruning, 40 cm and 60 cm pruning height and BAP concentration. The variable observed were number of pecco shoots, number of banji shoots, fresh weight and dry weight of shoots. The results showed that the combination of type and height of pruning with the BAP application affected the number of pecco and banji shoots on the third picking,  but did not affect the fresh and dry weight of shoots. The treatment of clean and jambul/ajir pruning at 60 cm height and added with BAP application at 60 ppm exhibited the best treatment in producing the number of shoots and reduce the number of banji shoots.</em>
