Purpose. Investigation of the influence of higher harmonics of current on current distribution, voltage and power losses in the supply systems of crane trolleys and development of a calculation method for practical use. Methodology. The analytical method and the results of the modeling method were used for research. Results. Analytical relationships have been obtained that make it possible to determine the current distribution, voltage and power losses in the systems of induction feeding of crane trolleys, taking into account the composition and amplitude of the higher harmonics of the current. Originality. For the first time, analytical dependences are obtained that take into account the effect of changing the trolley parameters on the frequency in the feed systems. Numerical values have been determined for the most commonly used induction feed systems for cranes. It is shown that with an increase in the cross-section of the feed bar there is a decrease in the main, and especially additional, losses. Practical value. Theoretical relationships have been obtained that can be used to calculate the optimization of induction feed systems in the presence of higher harmonic currents arising in power systems during operation of crane semiconductor controlled electric drives.

Peculiarities of estimation of total energy losses in electric networks and estimation of nature of electricity consumption in local power supply systems (LES) are given. The structure of additional electricity losses in LES in the presence of higher harmonics of current and voltage is carried out, the generalized schedule of instantaneous functions of current i(t), voltage u(t), and power p(t) on components. The offered indicators of an estimation of the performance of criterion of a minimum of losses of the electric power in LES allow to estimate levels of distortion of power processes at consideration both exchange processes, and at the analysis of additional losses of the electric power. The accuracy of measuring the integrated characteristics of energy exchange depending on the available levels of distortion of voltage and current signals is considered. It is shown that in order to take into account the influence of higher harmonics on the total power consumption, it is necessary to determine the change of Frize QFpower as an indicator of additional electricity losses in the presence of non-sinusoidal currents and voltages in at different ratios between the value of current and voltage of the first and higher harmonics. The evaluation of the efficiency of power consumption regulation using the Frize QF power at an arbitrary time interval, as well as the corresponding current distribution into active and reactive components are considered. The peculiarities of increasing the efficiency of power consumption regulation in LES at the cyclic change of generator parameters and load are analysed.

Управление режимами работы гребного электрического двигателя осуществляется полупроводниковыми преобразователями частоты, применение которых значительно ухудшает качество электроэнергии на общих шинах судовых электроэнергетических систем. Основными причинами являются уменьшение коэффициента мощности и появление высших гармоник в потребляемом токе. В результате этого снижается надежность работы потребителей, и увеличиваются потери электроэнергии. Поэтому уменьшение указанных негативных последствий является актуальной задачей. В связи с этим, большое внимание уделяется вопросам, связанным с изучением и разработкой различных методов и устройств обеспечения качества электроэнергии, увеличения коэффициента мощности и фильтрации высших гармоник. В настоящее время, перспективным методов улучшения качества электроэнергии, является применение устройств управления реактивной мощностью и активной фильтрации, т.е. компенсаторов неактивной мощности. Подобные системы можно применять не только для надводных судов, но и в автономных подводных транспортных средствах, в качестве энергетической установки которых выступает батарея топливных элементов. The control of the operating modes of the propulsion electric motor is carried out by semiconductor frequency converters, the use of which significantly degrades the quality of electricity on the common buses of the ship power systems. The main reasons are a decrease in the power factor and the appearance of higher harmonics in the current consumption. As a result, the reliability of the consumers is reduced, and the losses of electricity increase. Therefore, the reduction of these negative consequences is an urgent task. In this regard, much attention is paid to issues related to the study and development of various methods and devices for ensuring the quality of electricity, increasing the power factor and filtering higher harmonics. Currently, a promising method for improving the quality of electricity is the use of reactive power control devices and active filtering, i.e. compensators of inactive power. Such systems can be used not only for surface crafts, but also in autonomous underwater vehicles, the power plant of which is a fuel-cell stack.

It is shown that the use of controlled shunt reactors enables, based on ultra-high voltage transmission lines, to create a controlled generation of new generation FACTS types that meet the requirements of modern power systems and combinations. Typical modes of operation of the high-voltage power line with installed controlled shunt reactors are analyzed. The efficiency of the use of controlled shunt reactors as measures of transverse compensation in ultrahigh voltage transmission lines is shown. The article shows that due to a smooth change in the consumption of excess reactive power of the transmission line, the normalization of the voltage values is achieved, and, accordingly, the total power losses are reduced. This article discusses the work that resulted in the development of two battery-powered self-propelled electric mining machines intended for operation in the conditions of a Polish copper ore mine. Currently, the global mining industry is seeing a growing interest in battery-powered electric machines, which are replacing solutions powered by internal combustion engines. The cooperation of Mine Master, Łukasiewicz Research Network—Institute of Innovative Technologies EMAG and AGH University of Science and Technology allowed carrying out a number of works that resulted in the production of two completely new machines. In order to develop the requirements and assumptions for the designed battery-powered propulsion systems, underground tests of the existing combustion machines were carried out. Based on the results of these tests, power supply systems and control algorithms were developed and verified in a virtual environment. Next, a laboratory test stand for validating power supply systems and control algorithms was developed and constructed. The tests were aimed at checking all possible situations in which the battery gets discharged as a result of the machine’s ride or operation and when it is charged from the mine’s mains or with energy recovered during braking. Simulations of undesirable situations, such as fluctuations in the supply voltage or charging power limitation, were also carried out at the test stand. Positive test results were obtained. Finally, the power supply systems along with control algorithms were implemented and tested in the produced battery-powered machines during operational trials. The power systems and control algorithms are universal enough to be implemented in two different types of machines. Both machines were specially designed to substitute diesel machines in the conditions of a Polish ore mine. They are the lowest underground battery-powered drilling and bolting rigs with onboard chargers. The machines can also be charged by external fast battery chargers.
