The results of the analysis of transient and technological processes of the irrigation pumping station of the first lift, taking into account the negative starting effects on the synchronous electric drive, are considered. The analysis and review of the ways of regulating the performance of the units of the irrigation pumping station of the first lift are made, and the main difficulties of the existing methods of regulating the pump supply are revealed. Computer simulation of starting modes of high-voltage synchronous electric motors with direct and soft start, where soft starter was used for soft start, was carried out. The simulation took into account the changes in the currents of all phases of the electric motor, the electromagnetic torque, the motor speed, the effective value of the current, as well as the static torque. The introduction of semiconductor soft starters for electric drives of high-power pumping units has been substantiated.

The water supply of the pumping station must meet the needs of the consumer which change during the day. Therefore, its performance needs to be adjusted. Any deviation of the pump unit’s performance from the nominal value leads to additional energy costs. Under such conditions, great importance is paid to optimising the operation of electric drives of the water supply pumping station. To regulate the performance of a pumping station, it is often resorted to changing the number of operating pumping units, the engines of which are started directly from the electrical network. Medium-and high-power engines are subject to technical restrictions for a direct start, which are supplemented by the need to maintain pauses between starts. Therefore, when ensuring the desired value of pumping station performance, it is very important to consider the features of starting pump engines. Control systems are widely used in the field of electric drive and water supply. It is in these areas that the efficiency of the control system depends on the amount of electricity that will be consumed by the technological process or the reliability of its operation. It is known that pumps account for about half of all energy produced. Therefore, the issue of effective control systems is particularly relevant in the field of water supply. The purpose of this study is to increase the reliability and efficiency of the water supply system by considering the distribution properties of the pipeline network when controlling electric pump drives, which will allow coordinating the operation of the pumping station, the pipeline network, and the consumer. To achieve this purpose, the study was conducted to assess the impact of the distribution and length of the pipeline network. The system of water supply and distribution is analysed, what criteria affect the correct performance of work and what problems may arise during operation for a long period of time are investigated. Ways to optimise the operation of pumping stations to increase their energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness of installations are investigated. The main reasons for the expediency of using an adjustable electric drive to control pumping units are considered

The article studies the starting modes of a synchronous electric drive of a pumping station, in direct and soft start of high-voltage synchronous motors of an irrigation pumping station of the first stage. The analysis of negative starting factors of synchronous machines is made on the basis of computer modeling of the research object. The simulation results are clearly shown for the main parameters of a synchronous electric drive, such as its rotation speed, stator currents, electromagnetic torque on the shaft, etc.

In this article the problem of design and operation of water supply systems for high-rise buildings in Russia, including in Togliatt i, is considered. The system of water supply of highrise buildings in modern design conditions is substantiated. It is noted that the existing design methods are based on the norms of the last century, without taking into account modern developments in the fi eld of sanitary equipment and the requirements for resource saving. It is substantiated that in order to above-mentioned problems solution it is necessary to study the development trends of the regulatory base in the fi eld of high-rise construction; to determine the operational features of high-rise building water supply systems; to reveal factors aff ecting resource conservation in the water supply system of high-rise buildings; to study effi ciency of pumping units operation and peculiarities of their regulation; to evaluate the water-saving eff ect from the use of modern water-fi ttings.

To develop new control algorithms for controlling slurry pumps, it is necessary to have a reliable mathematical model of their operation, convenient for computer simulation implementation. Therefore, the paper discloses a mathematical model of the joint operation of a centrifugal pump with a controlled asynchronous motor drive and a slurry pipeline. The results of transient modes computer simulation, carried out via the xcos application of the scilab software, are presented. This software is a freeware one and, therefore, available free of charge to most researchers. The paper provides an example of verification of the adequacy and performance of the proposed computer model, with the use of characteristics of the centrifugal slurry pump GrAT-225-67-3-2-2. The said model of a centrifugal pump is efficient and can be used during the study of dynamic processes in pipeline transportation systems, as well as in the synthesis of control algorithms for electric drives of pumping units.

in presented paper the transient characteristics of an asynchronous electric drive of a pump unit with PID-similar fuzzy controller are investigated. A comparative analysis of control quality in a system with traditional and fuzzy controllers is performed. The use of fuzzy controller in the asynchronous electric drive of the pump unit for water supply system is substantiated and it is proved that the use of fuzzy logic leads to the improvement of the quality of the transient process of the system. The simulation was performed using the Scilab mathematical application package.

The objective of this paper is to compare laboratory tests of industrial electric a.c. drives and simulation results obtained from the basic model introduced to our students in practical sessions. This basic model takes into account the electrical, electronic and control subsystems which comprise a simplified electric a.c. drive. The proposed tests allow us to analyse the electric drive in four-quadrant operation, which are included in this paper. The main advantage of this approach is that students can verify the differences between real and simulated results and, in this way, they can also progress, strengthen and expand their theoretical knowledge. The proposed methodology has been implemented during the past few years in two optional subjects related to electric and electronic fields. Academic results and student reaction are also discussed.
