Modern business partnerships can be implemented in a variety of forms by using specific methods and approaches. At the same time, it has been noted that business partnerships are subject to transformation under the influence of the emergence of new technologies, methods and tools, one of which is the franchising system of relations. Taking into account the existing international experience of using franchising as an effective tool for building partnerships, further research is needed to more accurately define, systematize and quantify the strategic advantages that participants receive when forming business partnerships in modern conditions. The purpose of the paper is to identify and summarize the strategic advantages received by participants in the formation of business partnerships based on the franchising system of relations. Historical and bibliographic methods have been used to substantiate the theoretical provisions of the article. Of particular importance within the new paradigm of modern state management is the introduction and organization of project management in public authorities. An important condition for this is the regulation of project activities. The considered methodology of project management in the UK, Greece, Canada, the USA and China allowed us to identify key areas for improving the legislative regulation of project management in public authorities.

This article provides an overview of current trends in the supply of higher-level skills in the UK. The author suggests that at higher levels increasing the supply of qualified people is unlikely to be an adequate measure to gain international competitive advantage, and that greater attention needs to given to increasing the quality (in terms of better and more relevant skills) and to stimulating demand for graduates in the wider economy. It is, she argues, difficult to justify expansion of the higher education sector in the absence of evidence of an increased requirement on the part of employers to match any growth in supply. The articles that follow in this ‘Special Focus’ on skills needs discuss specific aspects of the labour market for higher-level skills. Gill Court considers the labour market for graduates in the USA and the lessons for other countries of moving to a mass higher education system; Helen Lawton Smith looks at national laboratories and the effects that recent political decisions have had on their role in skill supply and skill renewal; and finally Gill Court and Nick dagger assess data on the recruitment of non-national staff to research centres, highlighting the extent of the European mobility of scientists and engineers.

This study presented a bibliometric examination of the crowdsourcing publications. The objective of this study is to bibliometrically examine the publications related to crowdsourcing in the Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science. A systematic search has been carried out for publications between 2008 and 2017. The parameters analysed included document type, language, most prolific journal, leading countries/territories, institutions and authors in terms of total publications, independent publications, collaborative publications, first authors, corresponding authors and single authors. Highly cited articles and the future direction of hot topics are also investigated. 81 per cent of the total publications are articles. English remains the dominant language and accounted for nearly 100 per cent of the total output. The USA, China and the UK produced 80 per cent of total production. PLOS One was leading journal in terms of total output and total citation till 2016. It was found that 1459 articles, including 1347 first authors, 1443 corresponding authors and 79 single authors, were published by 6973 authors. Fritz Steffen and See Linda were the most prolific authors. This paper will be useful for researchers to know the current trends and achievements of crowd - sourcing research.

This chapter examines students’ views of learning with technologies through four related case studies that utilized online learning with marginalized young people. The studies were carried out in the UK, Austria, Ireland, Sweden and the USA with young people aged 14-21 who had dropped out of formal education. Ethnographic research was used but quantitative data was also gathered to contextualize the qualitative approach. The views and opinions of these young people were used to aid the development of online learning platforms and their content for use both with static computers and mobile devices. The results suggested that the young people embrace new technologies in such a way that they evidence deep thinking and deep learning. However, use of technologies in this way is not possible on a large scale within the existing school system. Further research should examine how the school system can better embrace the way that young people use Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) tools into their learning.

In order to continue to deliver outstanding medical care on the battlefield, the UK Defence Medical Services must continue to adapt, overcome and actively embrace change. One potential area is the rapid proliferation and sophistication of automated and remote systems such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). UAVs are already used to deliver blood to remote military locations in Afghanistan and defibrillators to those that need them in the USA and Sweden. An area of future opportunity would be to facilitate rapid evacuation of wounded personnel from high intensity, high threat, remote and austere areas directly to specialist care. Such a capability would reduce threat to human life while allowing rapid extraction of casualties from high risk or inaccessible environments straight back to Role 3 care, all of which in these situations is either not possible or carries too much risk using conventional aerial assets. The article aims to highlight a potential future capability, stimulate debate and reflection, all of which is essential for innovation and future organisational development. The potential uses and benefits of UAVs are highlighted including both the challenges and rewards of utilising UAVs for casualty evacuation. Key benefits are reduced risk to human life, cost, ability to insert into areas conventional aircraft cannot and the rapidity of transfer. Challenges are likely to be airspace management, decisions on appropriate level of care to deliver during transit and ultimately user acceptability. The article also highlights that in order to maximise our ability to exploit new technologies, all arms and trades within the military must be involved in collective research and development. Furthermore, sensible corroboration with private companies will further enhance our ability to acquire products that best serve our needs.

The construction industry is experiencing changes in its processes and work methods, and the advancement of new technologies in recent decades has led to a new concept known as Construction 4.0, coined in 2016 in Germany. Since its definition is still diffuse, it was deemed necessary to conduct a review on the publications in this field to grasp how this concept is being understood. For that purpose, a bibliometric analysis was conducted among 260 research articles using seven keywords. The results reveal that the number of publications is growing exponentially, with the USA, the UK, and China being leaders in this field; besides, four technologies are essential to understand Construction 4.0 at present time: 3D printing, big data, virtual reality, and Internet of Things. The results of this review suggest that further reviews should be conducted every 3 years to grasp the rapid evolution of Construction 4.0.

An integral component of successful entrepreneurial activity is the establishment of strong relations with partners, the form and type of which varies depending on the sphere of activity and its scope. Considering that a prerequisite for a business partnership is constant communication, the style, and quality of which mainly determines the success of doing business, the development of business communication skills becomes an object of continuous research by both scientists and enterprise managers. The main goal of this study was to examine the role and the importance of business partnerships in Google Trends. Another goal of the study was to look at how often the term business partnership appears in Google books, with the help of Google Books Ngram Viewer, as well as in a database of Science Direct, with the help of Science Direct’s search function. The top year of the interest frequency of business partnership was 2004 in the Google Trends worldwide in business and industry categories. The bottom year of interest frequency was 2006. The geographic analysis revealed that most people searched in Botswana, in Jamaica, in Zimbabwe, in Ghana, and Uganda for the term business partnership. Interestingly, these countries are all located on the African continent, except Jamaica. Most people searched in Accra, in Nairobi, in Manila, in Quezon City, and Cebu for the term business partnership. The results of the bibliometric analysis of the relationship of business partnerships with other categories made it possible to conclude that people (mostly from the Philippines, Ethiopia, the USA, Canada, and Kenya) inquired about the joint venture and limited partnership. The conducted study revealed that from 1950 to 1970, the frequency of appearance of business partnership in the Google Books` database has been decreasing continuously. From 1972 the frequency has been growing gradually, then from 2006, the frequency has been decreasing gradually. The use of the term “business partnership” shows in the Science Direct a second-degree polynomial growing trend. Summarizing all these results, we can conclude that while people in developing countries in Africa and Jamaica were most sought for expressing business partnerships, people in developed countries were more interested in types of business partnerships. Keywords: Business partnership, Google Trends, Google Books Ngram Viewer, Science Direct, Time Series Analysis.
