A scientific journal is needed as a medium in publishing the research findings which can be beneffited not only as an information to increase the knowledge but also as a reference for future researchers. The quality of the scientific journal, therefore, should be guaranteed from certain aspects such as the content, language, style, and periode . This evaluation research aimed at measing the quality of scientific journal published by The School of Education, State University of Jakarta, titled Jurnal Perspektif Ilmu Pendidikan based on the standards formulated by LIPI. The evaluation used quantitative approach and took place in The School of Education, State University of Jakarta, Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Tempat penelitian yaitu di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas. The evaluation, conducted as from April through October 2009, covered all publications of 2006 - 2009. The result of the evaluation showed a number of requirements in puplising a scientific journlal based on LIPI standards, have not fulfilled, To be accredited as a scientific journal, this evaluation pointed out some steps to be taken by the editorial board of Jurnal Perspektif Ilmu Pendidikan.

The article presents the authors ‘view on the activities of the scientific journal” Bulletin of the North Ossetian State University named after K. L. Khetagurov”. The relevance of the article is due to a significant increase in the role of research work of teachers and students of universities and the requirements for their publication activity; the importance for the university of having highly rated scientific journals and the increasing importance of the scientific publication of the university for improving the training of students. At the scientific and theoretical level, the changes that were determined by the modernization of education in the country and the need to improve the quality of scientific publications in accordance with the vector of development of international high-ranking publications and the desire of the university management and the editorial board to keep the journal in the trend of modern science are understood. Attention is paid to the problem of evaluating and reviewing scientific articles, the idea of the impact of reviews on the development of scientific knowledge is justified; the systematic work of the editorial board on the introduction of scientific research into the educational process of the university is shown. The new tasks of the editorial board are considered, the solution of which will contribute to improving the quality of the publication and the research activities of the teaching staff and students of the university. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the author’s approach to the current state, functioning and perspective view of the development of the university scientific publication and to determine its place in the modern scientific and educational space. The research methodology is based on systematic, activity-based and culturological approaches using such methods as systematization, generalization, analysis, description and comparison.

Scientific journal is one of the periodical publications intended to widely disseminate research findings useful for research and academic communities. Articles published in the journal tend to be highly technical, representing the latest theoretical research and experimental results in the field of science, technolgy, or arts covered by the journal. Articles in the journal can be used as references and inspire researchers and scholars to do further researh. The quantity and quality of journals in a country can indicate the quality of the human resource and development of science, technology, and arts in the country. Based on the available data, the quantity and the quality of journal in Indonesia are still unsatisfactory. This article discusses some problems in managing journal and provides a number of recommendation which are useful for those publishing a journal.

Dear Reader, On the 22nd of February this year, INDIAN DRUGS celebrated its 55th Annual Day at the IIT Bombay campus in Powai. 55 years of publishing a Scientific Journal regularly every month is truly an accomplishment of which I am grateful to be able to contribute to. I sincerely appreciate all our Editorial Advisory Board and Editorial Board Members and the large number of reviewers who took time off and actively participated in the celebrations. The enthusiasm and support of all present at this grand event is an indication of the commitment to the cause of improving the quality of pharmaceutical research being conducted in India. The research analyzed the biography of the editors of the newspaper of the 2nd Moscow State University "Za Leninym" as well as their role in the management of the publication. We used archival documents of the 2nd Moscow State University which have not been studied before. The newspaper "Za Leninym" was published from 1926 to 1930. Its editors were students and employees of the 2nd Moscow State University. In the 1920s of the twentieth century university mass media were established. There was an acute shortage of professionals who could help the large-circulation press to reach a professional level. The study found that media played an important ideological, informative, and educational role. The newspaper "Za Leninym" was no exception. The leadership of the 2nd Moscow State University was genuinely interested in publishing a newspaper, the editorial board was appointed, the issues of the newspaper and the content of "Za Leninym" were repeatedly discussed. The role of newspaper editors in its development and improvement of the quality of the content of materials and layout was also crucial. Especially it is interesting to learn about the editors who really made a big contribution into science and in the history of the country (Y. Uranovsky, A. Bagdasarov, Y. Bugaysky). Thanks to the editors the newspaper which they wanted to close at its very beginning really took off and was being published regularly until 1930 under the name "Za Leninym", and since 1931 under the name "Kultarmeets".

This research aimed at discovering the staff’s lecturing styles at The Early Childhood Education Program, The School of Education, The State University of Jakarta based on four types: formal authority, personal model or demonstrator, fasilitator, dan delegator. The research conducted in September2011 through January 2012, employed descriptive qualitative method with the researcher acting as the instrument. Data were collected by observation, interview, and document study techniques to be validated in triangulation and member check. Data analysis used the procedures of data reduction, data display, and verification/conclusion. The findings indicate that the staff tend to practise facilitator lecturing style oriented on the students and the staff initate various activities involving the students to improve and develop their competence. Based on the research findings, the staff are recommended to improve their professional competence properly.
