Jaya Optimization Algorithm Implemented on A New Novel Design of 6-DOF AUV Body: A Case Study

Abstract The Novel Jaya Optimization Algorithm (JOA) was utilized in this research to evaluate the efficiency of a new novel design of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). The Three Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers were used to obtain the optimum output for the AUV Trajectory, which can be considered as a main side of the research for solving the AUV Performance. The optimization technique has been developed to solving the motion model of the AUV in order to reduce the rotations of trajectory for the AUV 6-DOF Body in the axis’s in x, y and z for the overall positions, velocity... etc., and to execute the optimum output for the dynamic kinematics model based on the Novel Euler-6 DOF AUV Body Equation implemented on MATLAB R2021a Version.

In this paper, an optimized Fractional Order Proportional, Integral, Derivative based Genetic Algorithm GA-FOPID optimization technique is proposed for glucose level normalization of diabetic patients. The insulin pump with diabetic patient system used in the simulation is the Bergman minimal model, which is used to simulate the overall system. The main purpose is to obtain the optimal controller parameters that regulate the system smoothly to the desired level using GA optimization to find the FOPID parameters. The next step is to obtain the FOPID controller parameters and the traditional PID controller parameters normally. Then, the simulation output results of using the proposed GA-FOPID controller was compared with that of using the normal FOPID and the traditional PID controllers. The comparison shows that all the three controllers can regulate the glucose level but the use of GA-FOPID controller was outperform the use of the other two controllers in terms of speed of normalization and the overshoot value.

This paper proposes a nature inspired, meta-heuristic optimization technique to tune a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller for a robotic arm exoskeleton RAX-1. The RAX-1 is a two-degrees-of-freedom (2-DOFs) upper limb rehabilitation robotic system comprising two joints to facilitate shoulder joint movements. The conventional tuning of PID controllers using Ziegler-Nichols produces large overshoots which is not desirable for rehabilitation applications. To address this issue, nature inspired algorithms have recently been proposed to improve the performance of PID controllers. In this study, a 2-DOF PID control system is optimized offline using particle swarm optimization (PSO) and artificial bee colony (ABC). To validate the effectiveness of the proposed ABC-PID method, several simulations were carried out comparing the ABC-PID controller with the PSO-PID and a classical PID controller tuned using the Zeigler-Nichols method. Various investigations, such as determining system performance with respect to maximum overshoot, rise and settling time and using maximum sensitivity function under disturbance, were carried out. The results of the investigations show that the ABC-PID is more robust and outperforms other tuning techniques, and demonstrate the effective response of the proposed technique for a robotic manipulator. Furthermore, the ABC-PID controller is implemented on the hardware setup of RAX-1 and the response during exercise showed minute overshoot with lower rise and settling times compared to PSO and Zeigler-Nichols-based controllers.

In the present paper presents the Whale Optimization Algorithm technique (WOA) it is a partial search algorithm. To advance the improved the performance of the PID controller uses whale optimization algorithm as the optimization technique. The proposed algorithm is used to tuning the controllers very fast and tuning is very high quality in PID Controllers is most effectively. It growths the system by its main transient response and by comparing the all terms of rise time (tr), settling time (ts) and peak overshoot (% Mp). More over the three gains are (proportional (kP), integral (ki) and derivative (Kd)) of the PID controller have been enhanced by the WOA technique to control the Automatic Voltage Regulator system. In this the transient response of the terminal voltage may be observed from the well-conditioned analysis they can be suggest WOA established PID Controller and which reveal a very most upgrade strong control structure for the managing the AVR system in the Electrical Power System. The simulation result of the propounded controller has shown superior result to the other optimization techniques on PID controller along with the transient response parameters and improve and supervise the performance of the System

Abstract:-Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) Controllers play a significant role in many industrial and commercial applications. The design of PID controller is always a challenging problem, especially for high order systems. A genetic algorithm (GA) is a stochastic global adaptive search optimization technique based on the mechanism of natural selection. GA is expected to be superior in avoiding local minima which plays a significant role in case of a non-linear system. The studies based on GA Based PID Controller are used to highlight its effectiveness for better optimization.

A novel method was developed for the determination of linting propensity of paper based on printing with an IGT printability tester and image analysis of the printed strips. On average, the total fraction of the surface removed as lint during printing is 0.01%-0.1%. This value is lower than those reported in most laboratory printing tests, and more representative of commercial offset printing applications. Newsprint paper produced on a roll/blade former machine was evaluated for linting propensity using the novel method and also printed on a commercial coldset offset press. Laboratory and commercial printing results matched well, showing that linting was higher for the bottom side of paper than for the top side, and that linting could be reduced on both sides by application of a dry-strength additive. In a second case study, varying wet-end conditions were used on a hybrid former machine to produce four paper reels, with the goal of matching the low linting propensity of the paper produced on a machine with gap former configuration. We found that the retention program, by improving fiber fines retention, substantially reduced the linting propensity of the paper produced on the hybrid former machine. The papers were also printed on a commercial coldset offset press. An excellent correlation was found between the total lint area removed from the bottom side of the paper samples during laboratory printing and lint collected on halftone areas of the first upper printing unit after 45000 copies. Finally, the method was applied to determine the linting propensity of highly filled supercalendered paper produced on a hybrid former machine. In this case, the linting propensity of the bottom side of paper correlated with its ash content.

Subject. This article discusses the issues related to the creation of a technology of modeling and optimization of economic, financial, information, and logistics cluster-cluster cooperation within a federal district. Objectives. The article aims to propose a model for determining the optimal center of industrial agglomeration for innovation and industry clusters located in a federal district. Methods. For the study, we used the ant colony optimization algorithm. Results. The article proposes an original model of cluster-cluster cooperation, showing the best version of industrial agglomeration, the cities of Samara, Ulyanovsk, and Dimitrovgrad, for the Volga Federal District as a case study. Conclusions. If the industrial agglomeration center is located in these three cities, the cutting of the overall transportation costs and natural population decline in the Volga Federal District will make it possible to qualitatively improve the foresight of evolution of the large innovation system of the district under study.

The accuracy and stability of relative pose estimation of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) and a target depend on whether the characteristics of the underwater image can be accurately and quickly extracted. In this paper, a whale optimization algorithm (WOA) based on lateral inhibition (LI) is proposed to solve the image matching and vision-guided AUV docking problem. The proposed method is named the LI-WOA. The WOA is motivated by the behavior of humpback whales, and it mainly imitates encircling prey, bubble-net attacking and searching for prey to obtain the globally optimal solution in the search space. The WOA not only balances exploration and exploitation but also has a faster convergence speed, higher calculation accuracy and stronger robustness than other approaches. The lateral inhibition mechanism can effectively perform image enhancement and image edge extraction to improve the accuracy and stability of image matching. The LI-WOA combines the optimization efficiency of the WOA and the matching accuracy of the LI mechanism to improve convergence accuracy and the correct matching rate. To verify its effectiveness and feasibility, the WOA is compared with other algorithms by maximizing the similarity between the original image and the template image. The experimental results show that the LI-WOA has a better average value, a higher correct rate, less execution time and stronger robustness than other algorithms. The LI-WOA is an effective and stable method for solving the image matching and vision-guided AUV docking problem.

AbstractNature inspired swarm based meta-heuristic optimization technique is getting considerable attention and established to be very competitive with evolution based and physical based algorithms. This paper proposes a novel Buyer Inspired Meta-heuristic optimization Algorithm (BIMA) inspired form the social behaviour of human being in searching and bargaining for products. In BIMA, exploration and exploitation are achieved through shop to shop hoping and bargaining for products to be purchased based on cost, quality of the product, choice and distance to the shop. Comprehensive simulations are performed on 23 standard mathematical and CEC2017 benchmark functions and 3 engineering problems. An exhaustive comparative analysis with other algorithms is done by performing 30 independent runs and comparing the mean, standard deviation as well as by performing statistical test. The results showed significant improvement in terms of optimum value, convergence speed, and is also statistically more significant in comparison to most of the reported popular algorithms.

In this paper, a novel modified optimization algorithm is presented, which combines Nelder-Mead (NM) method with a gradient-based approach. The well-known Nelder Mead optimization technique is widely used but it suffers from convergence issues in higher dimensional complex problems. Unlike the NM, in this proposed technique we have focused on two issues of the NM approach, one is shape of the simplex which is reshaped at each iteration according to the objective function, so we used a fixed shape of the simplex and we regenerate the simplex at each iteration and the second issue is related to reflection and expansion steps of the NM technique in each iteration, NM used fixed value of [Formula: see text], that is, [Formula: see text]  = 1 for reflection and [Formula: see text]  = 2 for expansion and replace the worst point of the simplex with that new point in each iteration. In this way NM search the optimum point. In proposed algorithm the optimum value of the parameter [Formula: see text] is computed and then centroid of new simplex is originated at this optimum point and regenerate the simplex with this centroid in each iteration that optimum value of [Formula: see text] will ensure the fast convergence of the proposed technique. The proposed algorithm has been applied to the real time implementation of the transversal adaptive filter. The application used to demonstrate the performance of the proposed technique is a well-known convex optimization problem having quadratic cost function, and results show that the proposed technique shows fast convergence than the Nelder-Mead method for lower dimension problems and the proposed technique has also good convergence for higher dimensions, that is, for higher filter taps problem. The proposed technique has also been compared with stochastic techniques like LMS and NLMS (benchmark) techniques. The proposed technique shows good results against LMS. The comparison shows that the modified algorithm guarantees quite acceptable convergence with improved accuracy for higher dimensional identification problems.

The automatic load frequency control for multi-area power systems has been a challenging task for power system engineers. The complexity of this task further increases with the incorporation of multiple sources of power generation. For multi-source power system, this paper presents a new heuristic-based hybrid optimization technique to achieve the objective of automatic load frequency control. In particular, the proposed optimization technique regulates the frequency deviation and the tie-line power in multi-source power system. The proposed optimization technique uses the main features of three different optimization techniques, namely, the Firefly Algorithm (FA), the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and the Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA). The proposed algorithm was used to tune the parameters of a Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller to achieve the automatic load frequency control of the multi-source power system. The integral time absolute error was used as the objective function. Moreover, the controller was also tuned to ensure that the tie-line power and the frequency of the multi-source power system were within the acceptable limits. A two-area power system was designed using MATLAB-Simulink tool, consisting of three types of power sources, viz., thermal power plant, hydro power plant, and gas-turbine power plant. The overall efficacy of the proposed algorithm was tested for two different case studies. In the first case study, both the areas were subjected to a load increment of 0.01 p.u. In the second case, the two areas were subjected to different load increments of 0.03 p.u and 0.02 p.u, respectively. Furthermore, the settling time and the peak overshoot were considered to measure the effect on the frequency deviation and on the tie-line response. For the first case study, the settling times for the frequency deviation in area-1, the frequency deviation in area-2, and the tie-line power flow were 8.5 s, 5.5 s, and 3.0 s, respectively. In comparison, these values were 8.7 s, 6.1 s, and 5.5 s, using PSO; 8.7 s, 7.2 s, and 6.5 s, using FA; and 9.0 s, 8.0 s, and 11.0 s using GSA. Similarly, for case study II, these values were: 5.5 s, 5.6 s, and 5.1 s, using the proposed algorithm; 6.2 s, 6.3 s, and 5.3 s, using PSO; 7.0 s, 6.5 s, and 10.0 s, using FA; and 8.5 s, 7.5 s, and 12.0 s, using GSA. Thus, the proposed algorithm performed better than the other techniques.
