The study was carried out to examine the effects of nitrogen (N) fertilisation on phytochemical content quality, to determine types of phytochemicals compositions, and to establish phytochemicals marker compounds in Gynura procumbens. In this two factors study, three stages of harvesting (H) time and three rates of N were laid out according to Randomised Complete Block Design (RCBD). Physiological and biochemical attributes were recorded to exhibit the trend for plant quality. The results showed that, N has affected phytochemical content significantly (p < 0.05) with stronger effect on physiological and biochemical attributes (p < 0.01). The results suggested that 0 and 90 kg/ha N, respectively are highly and least effecting the Photo, Cond, TChlC, TCC, TPrc, TLiC, TPC and TFC.

A complete content of chemical substance from Aloe vera leaf makes this plant has many functions such as the ingredient of functional food for health, cosmetics, and herbal medicines. This research was aimed to determine the yield and quality of Aloe vera L. on various types and rates of green mulch in coastal sandy soil. The research was conducted in coastal sandy soil of Poncosari Srandakan, Bantul, Yogyakarta and done in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) of two factors with three replications. The first factor was four types of green mulch (shrimp evergreen, cashew, acasia and gliricidia). The second factor was various rate of green mulch consisted of three levels rates of leave mulch (5.0, 10.0, and 15.0 tons ha-1). Soil without mulching was used as a control treatment. The variables observed were yield at the first harvest time and leaf content quality which includes water, protein, fat, carbohydrate, ash, fiber, and mineral (Ca, Fe and Zn). The results showed that there was interaction between types and rates of leave mulch in all variables observed. Gliricidia leaf mulch gave the best effect with optimum rate about of 10 ton ha-1. The effectiveness of green mulch abilities on improving the observed variables from higher order to low was gliricidia, acasia, cashew and shrimp-type evergreen with the rate range between 10 up to 15 tons ha-1.

Gynura procumbens is an herbaceous plant. Despite the progressive reports on the pharmacological properties, many are overlooking at the importance of agronomic requirements, such as fertilization, to produce high phytochemical content which have not been conclusively concluded.

There are many of rice field which is located near the industrial area. The industrial waste contains heavy metals (chromium) which will cause contamination of rice if the waste isn’t treated properly. The used of chemical fertilizers can cause chromium contamination. It needs an effort to do remediation, such as using phytostabilization mechanism. This research aimed to determine the role of chelator in chromium phytostabilization and its influence on the growth and quality of rice. The study was conducted in Waru village, Karanganyar in May to October 2018.  This research was factorial design used completely randomized block design with two factors, namely chemical fertilizers and chelator (<em>Agrobacterium </em>sp. I<sub>26</sub>, and manure). The parameters observed are chromium content and uptake by plant tissues (roots, shoot and rice), plant height and a number of clumps. Research output was without chemical fertilizer-chelator <em>Agrobacterium </em>sp. I<sub>26</sub> that can increase the chromium uptake in roots as big as 95.38 %, increased up to 10 %  in the shoot and decreased up to 92.38 % in rice compared to control. Application of <em>Agrobacterium</em> sp. I<sub>26</sub> can be recommended to produce good quality and quantity of rice (good growth and free from harmful pollutants such as chromium metal).

The study is to investigate the effectiveness of several anthocyanins on quality of papaya jam. It was conducted using a randomized block design, arranged with two factors. The first factor is the anthocyanin with different source with several levels that of control (without pigment), canna flower, grape and skins dragon fruit, factor II is sugar content which is 40%, 50%, and 60%. The results of the study, indicating that there is significant to increase quality products. The best treatment is papaya jam with canna flower anthocyanin pigment and 60% sugar.

A field experiment was carried out at the Horticulture Farm, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh during the period from November 2011 to February 2012 to study the effect of seed tuber size on the yield and quality of seven accessions of potato. The experiment was laid out in the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. This piece of research consisted of two factors namely, size of seed tubers i.e. three different size of seed tuber i.e. small (10-20 g), medium (21-30 g) and large (31-40 g) and seven accessions of potato i.e. AC10064, AC10076, AC10097, AC10109, AC10123, AC10190 and one check variety Cardinal. The size of individual plot was 1.8 m × 1.2 m. Two adjacent unit plots and blocks were separated by 0.5 m and 0.5 m. A spacing of 60 cm × 30 cm was also used in terms of planting. Data on different yield contributing characters and yield were recorded. The tallest plants were produced by the large size of seed tuber accession AC10109 (120.25 cm) which also took minimum time (6.10 days) to germinate and possessed maximum stem diameter (0.95 cm) while small seed tuber of Cardinal required maximum days (10.23 days) along with shortest height (60.22 cm) as well as stem diameter (0.65 cm). The large size seed tuber of accession AC10109 gave maximum number of main stems/hill (6.4) and small size of seed tuber variety Cardinal gave minimum number of main stems/hill (2.96). The large size of seed tuber accession AC10109 produced maximum number of compound leaves/hill (64.80) and the small size of seed tuber Cardinal produced minimum number of compound leaves/hill (35.74). In terms of yield character large size of seed tuber of AC10109 accession exhibited highest results in tuber number 9.60 with the average diameter of tubers (5.86 cm) and yield was 10.42 t/ha. The quality of seed needs to be considered in carrot seed production to maintain its productivity. The research aims to find out the response of stecklings age and plant spacing on carrot seed quality and production. This research was held on July 2018 – April 2019 in Berastagi field trial (1340 m MSL). The experiment used Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors, i.e., stecklings age (2 and 3 months) and plant spacing (25, 50, 75, and 100 cm), replicated four times (32 experiment units), 10 plants from each experiment units were taken as samples. The result showed that stecklings age and plant spacing were affected to plant vegetative and generative stages. The combination of 2-month stecklings and 50 cm plant spacing increased the number of secondary umble, if compared to cultivation, which was generally used by the farmer (3-month stecklings and 25 cm plant spacing). The best quality of carrot seed was obtained from the combination of 3-month stecklings and 50 cm plant spacing.

Dalam penelitian ini telah dikembangkan multimedia interaktif pada konsep kalor. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh multimedia interaktif dan gaya belajar terhadap penguasaan konsep kalor siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahapan, yaitu studi pendahuluan, pengembangan desain, dan pengujian model. Pada tahap pengujian model digunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANAVA dengan dua faktor, yaitu model pembelajaran dan gaya belajar. Gaya belajar siswa dibagi menjadi empat kategori berdasarkan model VARK Fleming, yaitu Visual, Auditori, Read, dan Kinestetik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata penguasaan konsep siswa yang belajar menggunaan multimedia interaktif lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang belajar tanpa multimedia. Penguasaan konsep kalor siswa juga dipengaruhi oleh gaya belajar, dimana siswa dengan gaya belajar visual memiliki penguasaan konsep yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa dengan gaya belajar lainnya.In this research, we have developed interactive multimedia on heat concepts. This research aimed to analyze the effect of interactive multimedia and learning styles towards students understanding on heat concepts. The research was conducted in three stages: a preliminary study, development, and testing of models. Testing phase of the model used a quasi-experimental method. Data were analyzed using ANOVA with two factors, namely learning models and learning styles. Students' learning styles were divided into four categories based on the model VARK Fleming; Visual, Auditory, Read, and Kinesthetic. The results showed that the average of students understanding who learned using interactive multimedia was still higher than students who learned without interactive multimedia. Students understanding on heat concepts were affected by learning styles, in which students with visual learning styles had higher understanding on heat concepts that students with any other learning styles.

Oil palm is a leading commodity of the plantation sector in Indonesia. Improving the quality of oil palm still be carried out to increase production. Seed technology can be used as an effort to improve the quality of oil palm seeds. The aim of this experiment was to determine the effect of seed enrichment with consortium of three microbes to increase vigor of oil palm seedling in pre nursery stage. The experiment design of this reseach was using completely randomize block design consisted of two factors. The first was seed coating consist of two factors, ie: coated seed and uncoated seed. Second was seed enrichment consist of eight factors, ie: control, enrichment with E. sacchari, abruscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), T. asperellum, E. sacchari+ AMF, E. sacchari+ T. asperellum, AMF + T. asperellum, E. sacchari+ AMF + T. asperellum. Peningkatan mutu kelapa sawit terus dilakukan agar mening-katkan produksinya. Teknologi benih dapat digu-nakan sebagai salah satu upaya peningkatan mutu benih kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetapkan pengaruh pengayaan konsorsium tiga mikroba, E. sacchari,T. asperellumdan cendawan mikoriza arbuskular (CMA) dan pelapisan kecambah terhadap peningkatan vigor bibit kelapa sawit di pre nursery. Percobaan dirancang dengan rancangan acak kelompok dengan dua faktor, yaitu pelapisan dan pengayaan. Pelapisan terdiri dari dua taraf, yaitu dengan pelapisan dan tanpa pelapisan. Pengayaan terdiri dari 8 taraf, yaitu kontrol, pengayaan dengan E. sacchari, CMA, T. asperellum, E. sacchari+ CMA, E. sacchari + T. asperellum,CMA + T.asperellum,E. sacchari+ CMA + T. asperellum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengayaan dengan konsor-sium tiga mikroba dapat meningkatkan vigor bibit kelapa sawit berdasarkan parameter daya tumbuh, kecepatan tumbuh, tinggi bibit, dan jumlah bibit yang hidup.  [Kata kunci:    agen hayati,    diazotrop, kompa-tibilitas]

This study aimed to determine the influence of breed and type of extenders on frozen semen quality of cows at BIB Lembang. The experimental study was conducted in a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor was four cow breeds, i.e. Ongole Cross (PO), Brahman (BR), Simmental (SM) and Limousin (LM), and the second factor was two types of extender, i.e. Skim-Egg Yolk (SKT) and AndroMed® (AND), all repeated four times. The observed variables were percentage of spermatozoa motility and intact plasma membrane (IPM). All data obtained were analyzed using a general linear model (IBM SPSS ver. 23). The results demonstrated an interaction between breed and the type of diluent to motility. Breeds showed significantly different motility but non-significantly different intact plasma membrane (MPU) of semen. The type of diluent did not significantly affect motility and intact plasma membrane (MPU) of the frozen semen. The effect of the breed on BR motility was lower and significantly different from PO, LM and SM. The types of diluent did not significantly affect motility, MPU. The results showed that SKT was lower than AND, it was indicative effect of breed on intact plasma membrane (MPU) PO was lower than BR, LM and SM and the effect of the type of diluent on whole plasma membrane (MPU) AND is lower than SKT. It can be concluded that breed influences the motility of semen. The lowest motility reduction in frozen semen is Brahman cattle by using skim-egg yolk extender.

Fertilization outside the season of Siam Orange (Citrus microcarpa L.) with Induction of Flowering and Dormancy Breaking Substances. The Siam orange (Citrus microcarpa L.) produces seasonal fruit with the on-season harvest from July to August while the off-season harvest, i.e. from February to September there is hardly any fruit, or very limited supply. The purpose of this study was to examine the response of flowering induction and dormancy-breaking substances to produce off-season fruits of Siam orange. This research began in April to December 2016. The experiment was arranged factorially with two factors using a randomized block design (RBD), with nine combination treatments and six replications. Flowering induction factors consist of three levels, namely Ik = Control, IP = Paclobutrazol at a dose of 7.5 g/l, and Im = cutting the tip of dormant twigs. Dormancy-breaking substances factor consists of three levels, namely Dk = Control, Db = BAP 200 ppm, and Dn = KNO3 300 ppm. The results of the experiment showed that the highest fruit weight per tree at off-season production was obtained by induction with paklobutrazol (28.86 kg) and the lowest was in control (12.75 kg). Flowering induction treatments was not significantly different effect on fruit quality of Siam orange, represented by weight per fruits, fruit diemater, total soluble solid and vitamine C content was not siginificant different among levels of treatment. Dormancy-breaking substances treatment also not significantly effect on fruit quality of Siam orange. Based on this research it is recommended to induce flower for off-season produce of Siam orange by pruning the tips of dormant twigs or by using paklobutrzol.
