This work provides companies in the fresh-cut produce sector with an Ascorbate Bluetooth© Analyzer (ABA), a screen-printed sensor-based device for ascorbic acid (AA) detection, for quality control all along the supply chain. The amperometric detection of AA on fresh and fresh-cut parsley, under correct and incorrect storage temperature, allowed us to investigate the kinetics of AA decay in response to oxidative stress. The role of ascorbate oxidase (AOx) and ascorbate peroxidase (APx) was studied. ABA was used in situ by unskilled personnel. Treatments influenced AA decay kinetics, which were linear in fresh parsley, and non-linear in fresh-cut. Two hours at 28 °C immediately after chopping, the resilience of the fresh-cut parsley was reduced, even though the cold chain was restored. Two hours at −2 °C caused a rapid loss of AA until its complete decay after 72 h. Significant differences between treatments were observed in both the expression and activity of AOx and APx. ABA registered sudden changes of parsley AA following unpredicted variations of temperature during processing or transport. It was useful to remedy the effects of unexpected flaws in the cold chain, which can be proposed for quality preservation of different fresh-cut produce.

Context: Healthcare supply chain management is the regulation of the flow of medical goods and services from manufacturers to patients. Supply chain management encompasses the planning and managing of all activities involved in sourcing and procurement, conversion, and all logistics management activities. Therefore, it greatly helps material managers to manage through continuous improvement efforts while maintaining the quality of care. Moreover, reinforcing healthcare logistics information technology (IT) architecture immediately leads to more patient satisfaction. Objectives: This study aimed to develop an architecture for designing efficient software aiding with the management of the healthcare supply chain. Methods: This study showed the role of digital services in the improvement of the clinical regime of patients by presenting different approaches with distinguishing the main types of hospital logistics, such as physical flow management, food safety, and cold chain management approaches (e.g., “moving forward”), and modeling these components using the solution architecture principles of ITs, such as Business Process Model and Notation. Results: This study proposed a hospital enterprise architecture by modeling a system to have a base for building a digital catering service that improves the clinical regime of patients.

The effect of 12 h road transportation on some basic blood cells and the modulating role of ascorbic acid were investigated in 40 adult Red Sokoto goats during the hot dry season. The animals were divided into two groups, GI (experimental; ) and GII (control; ). Group 1 was administered with ascorbic acid (AA) per os at a dosage rate of 100 mg/kg body weight, while GII was given 10 mL of sterile water per goat. Forty minutes after the administration and loading, the goats were transported for 12 h. The result obtained in GII goats showed that loading, transportation, high ambient temperature (AT), and relative humidity (RH) encountered during transportation induced lymphopenia, neutrophilia, and eosinopenia, which can cause immunosuppression. In GI goats, the administration of AA prior to loading and transportation ameliorated the adverse effects of loading and transportation stress on neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio and eosinopenia of the goats.

The terminal is a road transportation infrastructure that is used for loading and unloadingof goods, as well as the arrival and departure of public vehicles. The existence of a terminalis very important in determining the level of performance of public transport services in anarea. The role of terminals is very important as infrastructure that can attract public interestin using public transportation. Determining the location of the terminal is also veryimportant to enter as an accessibility factor that can reach the wider community ofSingkawang City. This study aims to see which alternative locations are most suitable forbuilding type B terminals using the Composite Performance Index (CPI) method. To analyzethe location value required data such as road capacity data from road inventory survey, traffic volume data from traffic calculation survey results, and speed data from a movingcar observer survey.

This write up is aimed at proffering solution to the problem of transportation stress in ruminants in the tropics. Ascorbic acid is safe as buttressed in this write up for the improvement of meat quality in short and long terms road transportation stress. This review cover an aspect of animal physiology of stress, veterinary pharmacological aspects of ascorbic acid, how ascorbic acid improved meat product of animals exposed to long transportation stress. Ascorbic acid had no withdrawal period and was scientifically proven to be advantageous to meat characteristics and animal welfare. This was given credence to by its advantages as an anti-oxidative agent in solving the menace of road transportation to veterinarians, animal scientists and other professionals in the livestock industry.

Port’s seaside accessibility is one of the two most important factors influencing decisions of shipping lines for choosing or rejection the use of the port. The landside accessibility is connected to level of service which the port can offer in hinterland traffic. Both factors together have an enormous impact on port’s competitive position on the market. The paper contains overview of problems of ensuring accessibility of the port of Hamburg for container ships as well as rail or road transportation in order to maintain the current high role of Hamburg in container traffic to and from the Northern Europe.
