Vocabulary mastery is one of the goals of language learning. Vocabulary is very important because it is one of the most functional language elements needed to perform communication. This paper reports a case study on vocabulary learning by a group of adult students learning English in two different universities. The objective of this research is to describe the profile of the vocabulary learning of the ten best vocabulary masters in two private universities. The research involved 5 students from STMIK Amikom and 5 students from ABA Sinema; both are in Yogyakarta. Those participants were chosen based three criteria; their cognitive, affective and psychomotor factors. The findings show that the masters develope varying degree of their receptive as well as the productive skills; second, the masters learn from authentic material because it is more effective; third, in order to produce a better translation, the vocabulary masters review results of their internet-based translation due to their lack of grammatical use.

The main purpose of this research was the development of an effective marketing strategy for academic programs. The nature of academic programs has significantly changed. The curriculum at those programs as well as the methods for recruiting students were very traditional and rigid. In recent decades many private universities were created and started competing with established public universities. At the same time, public universities started competing among themselves. Recently many people view university education as an investment which provides a return in the form of well-paid employment after the completion of their formal education. The recruitment strategy needs to be adjusted to the changing conditions. Every academic program is trying to compete for the best highly-motivated high school students. Academic programs are operating in a similar mode to traditional businesses by selling educational services. The article presents a marketing approach to offering educational services in universities using the example of an Engineering Program at The Pennsylvania State University Hazleton (USA). The authors, using the case study method, place their considerations in a broader context of issues related to the marketing and communication strategy of universities. They indicate the need to use the 7-element marketing mix using the broader context of relationship marketing and feedback as well as building the brand of the university to skillfully meet the challenges of the dynamically developing world and the constantly evolving labour market, while not giving up the intellectualization of the educational processes and shaping the personality of the students. The methodology used in this study was a case study of the marketing of an Engineering program at The Pennsylvania State University (USA). This is a public university successfully competing with many private universities in the United States (USA). A theoretical analysis of the marketing strategy based on the best and most effective practices is being presented in the article. The paper also contains practical suggestions and recommendations that can be used by both private and state universities.

Computing programs are internationally available at different levels and nomenclatures. The popular levels in this regard are Bachelors and Master’s Degree. Internationally the Bachelors programs are commonly available as BS and MS program. Though UK and its follower countries the level and nomenclature are also called and popular as BSc and MSc programs. Worldwide Computing and IT programs are available only in science platform (except few countries that offers Master of Engineering/ Technology program). As far as Research levels are concerned most common are PhD and M.Phil. Though, among these, PhD is most common. However, it is worthy to note that M.Phil. Program is not offered and not so much popular in some countries. M.Tech by Research is considered as another program of research level offered to the B.Tech. / BE degree holders and in some cases MSc degree holders. In India, M.Phil. and PhD are available in IT and Computing fields for the science candidates, though engineering post graduate in related fields may also join the program. M.Phil. program in India is offered only at universities. In recent past, the number of private universities has been significantly increased and thus many of them are offer M.Phil. And many of those private universities offer M.Phil.in the field of IT and Computing. The traditional M.Phil. Programs are concentrated on broad areas viz. Computer Science/ Applications. Though, a significant move was undertaken by the Srinivas University, Karnataka for offering M.Phil.in subfields of IT. The paper discusses in detail of M.Phil. Program available in India with a special focus on specialized M.Phil.in Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics etc. Paper also tries to move into healthy educational policy related work for future potentialities.

This study aims to describe the concept of value chains as the basis for strategic management accounting design in three private universities in Kupang (East Nusa Tenggara). A qualitative approach with multiple case study methods is used in this study by focusing on the problems that arise as a result of the enactment of Law   No. 12 of 2012 concerning PTN-BH concerns autonomy and decentralization. Semi-structured interviews were conducted at three leaders of private universities, they were chosen because they were considered to have the greatest role in improving the quality of the institutions they lead. This research offers a contribution in identifying competitive advantages in an effort to improve the quality of private universities. In addition, contributions in designing strategic management accounting are also carried out in order to assess their relative position against competitors. This study found ten main themes, namely the number of new students, the ratio of lecturers to students; recruitment of new lecturers; use of technology; national and international publications; public services; quality of lectures; quality of graduates and waiting period; infrastructure development and promotion. Value chain analysis is proven to be able to breaking down the university to determine relevant strategies in order to improve sustainable quality. This research also shows that the case study method can be a powerful tool in analyzing the value chain concept. Keywords: Value Chain, Strategic Management Accounting, Private Universities

This study was conducted to verify, using the case of Cardinal Rugambwa Memorial University College, the widely held view that financial challenges are significant determinants of student dropouts in private universities in Tanzania. The study was conducted following a case study design. The findings were that with exception of tuition fees, financial constraints are significant causes of students’ failure to complete their study programmes. Other reasons that were found to be substantial causes of drop outs in this University College are related to students’ domestic and private reasons that include going to institutions near the home to take care of or being near their spouses. Administration related bottlenecks and gaps in guidance and counselling were also found to lead to dropout. Policy recommendations and areas for future research are identified.

This study aimed to identify on how to use Balanced Scorecard (BSC) perspectives in the service sector in general and in the Jordanian private universities in particular. The study was designed questionnaire to achieve the study objective, the questionnaire was distributed to(48), has recovered from (42) identify the rate of recovery was (87.5%), and after analyzing the data and test hypothesis using analysis methods through the program (SPSS) we found many of the results was the most important: There is using of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) perspectives in the Jordanian private universities partially, The researcher recommends that The universities hve to use all the perspectives of Balanced Scorecard (BSC) in the work as well as follow-up students after graduation in order to give the Promotional League. and The university has to work feedback about the services provided to the students.
