The objective of the research is to use the Six Sigma approach to activate the internal audit and its reflections on the quality of accounting information. The main objective of the Sigma approach is to activate the role of supervision in all areas of the economic unit in order to meet the changing needs of customers, market and technology for the benefit of employees, customers and shareholders. There is a significant correlation between the Six Sigma principles and internal audit , There is also a significant statistical significance for the role of using Six Sigma approach and the internal and its reflections on the quality of the accounting information. The Six-Sigma approach will improve the internal audit function, which in turn will lead to the availability of quality accounting information. The research recommended that the economic units should involve the employees in the processes and systems and the attention to human resources and the good suggestions presented by the employees. It also leads to the avoidance and occupation of power for personal purposes.

The purpose of this research is to know how big the role of ISO 9001:2000 to a company that has been applied using cost-based approach to six sigma quality. ISO 9001:2000 is a standard on quality management. With the implementation of ISO 9001:2000 is to determine its effect on fee levels of quality. Where quality costs are the costs accrued or incurred to prevent and improve the quality of which occur as a result of not reaching the specifications of products or services that have been set. The analytical tool used in Six Sigma approach is the number of defects each year in each production department so it can know which department has the largest number of product failure as compared with total production in which the department will be the object of research. Besides, the cost of the quality of the department which has the largest defects will be analyzed to determine the total effectiveness of the department. The results of this study is the successful application of ISO 9001:2000 at PT Honda Precision Parts Manufacturing measured using six sigma where sigma approach in the year 2004-2009 has increased. As for the cost of quality is itself an increase in the cost of prevention and appraisal costs. This shows an improvement in terms of quality has been going well. Based on the above information, it can be concluded that the increase in sigma and increased costs of prevention and appraisal costs are not separated from the role of ISO 9001:2000 which has been applied. It is evident that any improvements made as specified in ISO 9001:2000 concept will cause a rise in the cost of some components in the calculation of quality costs, but improvements are made will affect the production of goods falling NG or defect that ultimately reduce overall quality costs.

Abstract Objective: Exercise is a recognised means for improving quality of life. In general, students perform less sports activity than previous generations. In contrast, however, children’s participation in competitive sports has increased. The present study therefore aimed to assess how many students participate in sports clubs, how active in sports student (non)members are, and what actual effect sports clubs have on enabling sufficient sports activity. Methods: Students (N=213) in the first year of university studies (19-20 years) were recruited for a study approved by the Slovenian Ethics Committee. They answered a questionnaire on their sports club membership and on their sports activity during organised sports training and/or in their free time. Results were statistically analysed and compared to our previous results obtained from primary and secondary school children (1). Results: Only 16% of students participate in sports clubs, which is less (p<0.001) than in primary and secondary school children. The average (SD) sports activity of student sports-club members is 11.7 (6.8) h/week, with students non-members being significantly (p<0.001) less active with 4.6 (3.0) h/week. Participation in sports clubs is lower (p<0.001) in female (15%) than in male (21%) students, which is similar to children. Conclusions: The results of the study demonstrate that sports clubs in Slovenia are important for promoting sufficient sports activity. Namely, most of the student members participate in sports activity more than the recommended 1 h/day and are more than two times more active than their peers. Females, however, participate less often in sports clubs, which calls for further attention.

Purpose Success and business reputation depend upon the quality of products where product quality depends upon the capability of a process, yield value and sigma score, etc. Poor quality of ceiling fan and mass rejection from quality check resulted in an alarming amount of cost for rework. As a result, the fulfillment of the production target was getting difficult day by day. The main purpose of this research is to identify the crucial causes for humming noise of ceiling fans and control it to a tolerable level so that maximum quality can be achieved. Design/methodology/approach The poor quality of ceiling fans was determined from the Pareto analysis of the define, measure, analyze, improve and control model which was humming noise during running and further actions were undertaken regarding the reduction of the humming noise. Project charter was formed before initiating the measure phase to study the suppliers, inputs, processes, outputs and customers diagram with process parameters and existing noise data were collected from random samples to determine the rolled throughput yield (94.95% existing) and existing sigma score which value of 3.14 and also the poor value (1.05) of process potential index implied that the process condition was below standard (<1.33) and need to be improved badly. Then root causes analysis and relationship diagram was prepared to identify the possible causes and with the design of experiments and correlation analysis, it was clear that the air gap between the stator and rotor was the main culprit behind the humming noise. Findings The minimum value of air gap was determined from boxplot analysis which was 0.2 mm–0.225 mm and the corresponding mean, the minimum and maximum value of sound level in dB (37.5–40.3 dB) for 0.225 mm air gap with the watt consumption (83 w) from the hypothesis test for the corresponding air gap. Finally, the updated sigma score and process capability analysis were performed with control charts to show the comparison after applying the DMAIC-six sigma methodology. The final sigma score was 5.1 which indicates a significant improvement of the process with the capability of saving US$23,438/year caused by the poor quality of ceiling fans. Practical implications Only quantitative values of the causes behind the humming noise were possible to identify. Other trivial many causes elimination might improve the sigma score closer to 6.00. The final sigma score that was achieved from this research was sustainable. Originality/value A structural approach with proper data analysis and application of various tools to detect the actual cause behind the humming noise of ceiling fans with numerical value has not been found in any literature. This research study can be a valuable asset for ceiling fan mass producers.

The main purpose of this research is to use “DMAIC” and “DMADV” framework of six sigma to reduce cost of projects, increase yields, improve performance and reduce defects. This study conclude that the sigma level of cement bag production in four production lines is “4.7 DPMO” values of 710 and the possibility of defects per unit of 11 possibilities this situation was handled by using six sigma. Any business or industry run only to satisfy customer and increase their profits, this can be attained as development of quality product..For the ranking of newly established universities the certification of those institutes is very important and also a critical process. For this process we used Lean six sigma approach that can identify the wastes that affect this process.Six sigma can be applied to any work field such as education, power optimization and other types of industries Six sigma “DMAIC” approach is also used for the testing of EDA tools that occurs due to the complex coding or configurations, flows and platforms they support. To improve the process quality of SDLC it’s necessary to remove the defects of system in advance along with thorough valuation of size and it also makes project accordant with real time environment
