Background: Vaginal discharge, commonly known as leucorrhea, is a physiological condition which happens in female reproductive system. More than 75% women experience leucorrhea during their lifetime and 45% of them has recurrence. Objectives: To assess the efficacy of Udumbaradi Taila Yoni Pichu in management of Kaphaja Yoni Vyapad. Design: This is a single blind pilot study. 20 female patients with the complaints of Kaphaja Yonivyapad (nonspecific leucorrhoea) from the Dept. of Prasooti tantra and Stree Roga OPD of Rajiv Gandhi educational society’s Ayurvedic Medical College, Ron were included for the study. Patients were administered Udumbaradi Taila Yonipichu for 7 days and were assessed before and after the treatment and followed up on the 14th day. Results: This pilot study showed statistically significant changes with Udumbaradi Taila Yonipichu in reducing the complaints of Kaphaja Yoni Vyapad such as Katishoola (p<0.001), Kandu (p<0.001), consistency of the Srava (p<0.001) and Srava Pramana (quantity of the discharge) (p<0.001). Conclusions: Udumbaradi Taila Yonipichu showed effectiveness in the management of Kaphaja yoni Vyapad with the reduction of Katishoola, Kandu, consistency of the Srava and Srava pramana after the treatment.

Here, we report on the role of haptoglobin (Hp), whose expression depends on the synthesis of interleukin 6 (IL-6), related to the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS), as a possible marker of muscle improvement achieved after treatment with the polyphenol epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and an increase in the ketone body beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) in the blood. After 4 months of intervention with 27 MS patients, we observed that Hp does not significantly increase, alongside a significant decrease in IL-6 and a significant increase in muscle percentage. At the same time, Hp synthesis is considerably and positively correlated with IL-6 both before and after treatment; while this correlation occurs significantly reversed with muscle percentage before treatment, no correlation is evident after the intervention. These results seem to indicate that Hp could be a marker of muscle status and could be a diagnosis tool after therapeutic intervention in MS patients.

Abstract. Pearson MW. 2021. A pilot study into ecological burning in forests as part of a species conservation plan. Biodiversitas 22: 1296-1303. Fire management and the process of managing communities has become an increasingly topical subject due to recent events. The role of fire for fuel reduction with areas set aside for conservation may not be compatible as a seed recruitment tool for Allocasuarina robusta. Presently, fire as a recruitment tool on A. robusta is not well understood. The pilot study aims to examine the latent seedbank ability to contribute to the conservation of A. robusta when ecological burning is part of a fire management plan. The investigation examined the soil seed bank beneath A. robusta before and after an ecological burn as a greenhouse experiment. The experiment results demonstrated that a diverse range of species responds to a fire that may out-compete the seed recruitment from A. robusta. The results indicate that A. robusta may not be recruiting through seed. Competition appears to be a factor that may limit the ability of A. robusta to recruit from seed.

Dandruff is a common scalp ailment that causes flaking of the skin. It is neither communicable nor dangerous. It can, however, be humiliating and difficult to treat. Darunaka is a Kapalagataroga, but Acharya Sushruta described it as a Kshudraroga due to the vitiation of Vata and Kapha Doshas, with symptoms such as Kandu (itching on the scalp), Keshachyuti (hair loss), Swapa (abnormalities of touch sensation on the scalp), Rookshata (roughness or dryness of the scalp), and Twaksphutana (breaking or cracking of the scalp skin). Seborrheic Dermatitis is an irri- tative scalp illness characterized by the shedding of dead tissue from the scalp, as well as an itchy sensation. Seb- orrheic Dermatitis affects roughly 4% of the population, while dandruff (mild seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp) affects about half of all adults, according to studies. It can begin at any point after puberty and is more common in men. It might lead to social and self-esteem issues. A 25-year-old male patient from Jodhpur came to OPD of Panchakarma, with a chief complaint of Shira Kandu (itching on the scalp), Rukshata (dryness on the scalp), Twak- sphutana (cracks in the skin) and Keshachyuti (hair fall). In this case, Ayurvedic formulations and Panchakarma therapy gave the patient till 30 days. The improvement provided by the therapy was assessed based on signs and symptoms before and after the treatment, The therapy's effectiveness was determined by comparing signs and symp- toms before and after treatment. For evaluating signs and symptoms, a unique scoring scheme was created. Themedicine was proven to be both safe and effective at treating signs and symptoms as well as enhancing the general health of the scalp. Keywords: Darunaka, Shirodhara, Shiro basti, Seborrheic dermatitis

Human life has become more stressful these days. Sedentary lifestyle, occupational factors are playing a large role in increased prevalence of the common degenerative disorder of Cervical Spine i.e. Cervical Spondylosis. In Ayurvedic view, it can be correlated with Manyastambha which is a Vataja Nanatmaka Vikara. Degeneration means Apatarpana in Ayurveda. It needs to be treated with Brimhana Therapy. And Urdhvajatrugata Vyadhis are best treated with Nasya according to Ayurveda. So, taking all these factors into consideration, Brimhana Nasya Karma with Ksheerabala Taila was tried to alleviate the signs and symptoms of patients having Cervical Spondylosis. Assessment was done with regard to pain in neck and shoulder, tingling and numbness in hands and headache alongwith various angles of rotation of neck. The data was collected before and after administration of Nasya karma. The 15 days trial was proved to be significantly efficacious in reducing signs and symptoms of cervical spondylosis.
