The Blue Eyes technology aims at creating computational machines that have perceptual and sensory ability like those of human beings. It uses non-obtrusive sensing method, employing most modern video cameras and microphones to identify the user’s actions through the use of imparted sensory abilities. The machine can understand what a user wants, where he is looking at, and even realize his physical or emotional states. The Blue Eyes Technology developed is intended to be a complex solution for monitoring and recording the operator’s conscious brain involvement as well as his/her physiological condition. This shows yet another development in the field of Brain Computer Interface. The basic idea behind this technology is to give the computer the human power. We all have some perceptual abilities. That is we can understand each other’s feelings. For example we can understand one’s emotional state by analysing his facial expression. If we add these perceptual abilities of human to computers would enable computers to work together with human beings as intimate partners. The “BLUE EYES” technology aims at creating computational machines that have perceptual and sensory ability like those of human beings. This paper discusses the concept of blue eyes technology.

Mitophagy, which mediates the selective elimination of dysfunctional mitochondria, is essential for cardiac homeostasis. Mitophagy is regulated mainly by PTEN-induced putative kinase protein-1 (PINK1)/parkin pathway but also by FUN14 domain-containing 1 (FUNDC1) or Bcl2 interacting protein 3 (BNIP3) and BNIP3-like (BNIP3L/NIX) pathways. Several studies have shown that dysregulated mitophagy is involved in cardiac dysfunction induced by aging, aortic stenosis, myocardial infarction or diabetes. The cardioprotective role of mitophagy is well described, whereas excessive mitophagy could contribute to cell death and cardiac dysfunction. In this review, we summarize the mechanisms involved in the regulation of cardiac mitophagy and its role in physiological condition. We focused on cardiac mitophagy during and following myocardial infarction by highlighting the role and the regulation of PI NK1/parkin-; FUNDC1-; BNIP3- and BNIP3L/NIX-induced mitophagy during ischemia and reperfusion.

Non-microbial beer turbidity of lager beers often indicates a technological problem. Therefore, the occurrence of permanent haze in filtered and stabilized beer should not be underestimated. In this study, practical examples from industrial breweries, where several types of non-microbiological haze of colloidal were identified, are presented. These examples of haze were caused by slightly different factors, and as a result, they had a different microscopic image. It is often accompanied by mechanical impurities and sometimes by microorganisms that function as nucleation centers. Moreover, a very interesting example of almost brilliant permanent beer haze caused by the destruction of yeast cells with the following pouring intracellular contents of cells into beer is introduced. This phenomenon, which could be called “precedent”, was caused by a bad physiological condition of yeasts cells and inappropriately chosen yeast separation technology.

: Epilepsy is commonly recognized as a disease driven by generalized hyperexcited and hypersynchronous neural activity. Sodium-activated potassium channels (KNa channels), which are encoded by the Slo 2.2 and Slo 2.1 genes, are widely expressed in the central nervous system and considered as “brakes” to adjust neuronal adaptation through regulating action potential threshold or after-hyperpolarization under physiological condition. However, the variants in KNa channels, especially gain-of-function variants, have been found in several childhood epileptic conditions. Most previous studies focused on mapping the epileptic network on the macroscopic scale while ignoring the value of microscopic changes. Notably, paradoxical role of KNa channels working on individual neuron/microcircuit and the macroscopic epileptic expression highlights the importance of understanding epileptogenic network through combining microscopic and macroscopic methods. Here, we first illustrated the molecular and physiological function of KNa channels on preclinical seizure models and patients with epilepsy. Next, we summarized current hypothesis on the potential role of KNa channels during seizures to provide essential insight into what emerged as a micro-macro disconnection at different levels. Additionally, we highlighted the potential utility of KNa channels as therapeutic targets for developing innovative anti-seizure medications.

Abstract Background and Objectives: Cerumen is a common physiological condition; it only becomes a problem if it causes a hearing impairment or other ear-related symptoms. There is increasing evidence for a relationship between stress and hearing problems. The study aims to understand the association between acute stress and increasing cerumen secretion among medical students during exams. Materials and Methods: The study is a retrospective, single-center, and consecutive case series conducted in Benha University Hospitals in Egypt We defined four cases of medical students who complained of earwax accumulation during their final exams from the 15th to the 13th of July 2021. Results: Four medical students participated in the study. Younger Females and males’ percentages were equal, and the mean age was 19.625 years old. Headache, ear discomfort, and ear pruritus are most common, followed by tinnitus, ear debris, and otitis media with effusion, while hearing loss, fever, and ear pain are slightly rare. The bilateral accumulation of earwax is typical than unilateral accumulation. Remowax was used in almost of cases and then ear wash. Males had high perceived stress, while females had moderate stress. Conclusions: This retrospective case series showed an association between acute stress and excessive cerumen secretion among small medical students during their final exams.

AbstractIn modern society, subarachnoid hemorrhage, mostly caused by intracranial aneurysm rupture, is accompanied by high disability and mortality rate, which has become a major threat to human health. Till now, the etiology of intracranial aneurysm has not been entirely clarified. In recent years, more and more studies focus on the relationship between hemodynamics and intracranial aneurysm. Under the physiological condition, the mechanical force produced by the stable blood flow in the blood vessels keeps balance with the structure of the blood vessels. When the blood vessels are stimulated by the continuous abnormal blood flow, the functional structure of the blood vessels changes, which becomes the pathophysiological basis of the inflammation and atherosclerosis of the blood vessels and further promotes the occurrence and development of the intracranial aneurysm. This review will focus on the relationship between hemodynamics and intracranial aneurysms, will discuss the mechanism of occurrence and development of intracranial aneurysms, and will provide a new perspective for the research and treatment of intracranial aneurysms.

Abstract With the aim of improving productive potential of black pied cattle, preventing and treating clinical mastitis we used biopreparations developed by scientists of the Federal State Budgetary Establishment of Higher Education ‘Chuvash State Agrarian University’: Prevention-N-E and Prevention-N-B-S, as well as Mastinol, homeopathic medicinal product for treatment of mastitis. It follows from the results of our studies that the biological preparations used in the experiments did not influence the physiological condition of animals but activated cell factors of non-specific organism protection. The most obvious effect was demonstrated by Prevention-N-B-S, rather than Prevention-N-E, however this difference was insignificant (P>0.05). Prevention of mastitis in cows with Prevention-N-B-S biopreparation turned out to be more effective than with Prevention-N-E and Mastinol. Recovery of one cow of the 1st experimental group treated by Prevention-N-E took place in 4±0.08 days, which is 7±52 less than in the 3rd experimental group, where Mastinol was used. Atrophy of an udder lobe was observed in one cow in the 3rd experimental group. As a result, the issue of pathogenetic therapy of mastitis in cows is still relevant and we plan to solve it with the use of immunostimulants.

Ciliary receptors and their certain downstream signaling components undergo intraflagellar transport (IFT) as BBSome cargoes to maintain their ciliary dynamics for sensing and transducing extracellular stimuli inside the cell. Cargo laden BBSomes shed from retrograde IFT at the proximal ciliary region above the transition zone (TZ) followed by diffusing through the TZ for ciliary retrieval, while how the BBSome barrier passage is controlled remains elusive. Here, we show that the BBSome is a major effector of the Arf-like 3 (ARL3) GTPase in Chlamydomonas. Under physiological condition, ARL3GDP binds the membrane for diffusing into and residing in cilia. Following a nucleotide conversion, ARL3GTP dissociates with the ciliary membrane and binds and recruits the IFT-detached and cargo (phospholipase D, PLD)-laden BBSome at the proximal ciliary region to diffuse through the TZ and out of cilia. ARL3 deficiency impairs ciliary signaling, e.g. phototaxis of Chlamydomonas cells, by disrupting BBSome ciliary retrieval, providing a mechanistic understanding behind BBSome ciliary turnover required for ciliary signaling.
