This paper examines three main concerns about intra-firm transfer on knowledge in the management accounting and strategic management literature: the ability of real-world organizations to learn productively, the levels of aggregation in which the productive learning occurs, and the types of management interventions that are both desirable and productive. Based on a field study conducted in several business units of a multinational corporation, this paper reports how management makes conscious andsystematic efforts to transform ideas from the best practice within the company as well as from its competitors. The company uses Management By Olympic Systems to accelerate learning through competition and sharing. The system utilizes Olympic principles and integrates individual and team concepts to achieve the Olympic targets. A broad range of Olympic targets in terms of financial and non-financial linked to the company’s incentive systems is used to improve business operations, to motivate managers and employees, and to meet stakeholders’ expectations.

Favourable regulatory assessments, liberal policy changes, new research centres and substantial commercial investment signal that psychedelic therapy is making a major comeback. Positive findings from modern trials are catalysing developments, but it is questionable whether current confirmatory trials are sufficient for advancing our understanding of safety and best practice. Here we suggest supplementing traditional confirmatory trials with pragmatic trials, real-world data initiatives and digital health solutions to better support the discovery of optimal and personalised treatment protocols and parameters. These recommendations are intended to help support the development of safe, effective and cost-efficient psychedelic therapy, which, given its history, is vulnerable to excesses of hype and regulation.

As global insurance markets experienced a shift out of life assurance into new wealth products, Sanlam faced the same trend. Demutualization required more free capital than commanded by Sanlam, leading to an extended capital building programme, which ultimately fed into demutualization. Sanlam focused business operations on restructured business units, new distribution channels, and non-traditional markets. Serious attempts at bancassurance absorbed attention under severe market competition. Internationalization strategies failed to deliver to expectations. After listing in 1998, operational, management, and functional transformation occurred in a new South Africa. Statutory sanctioned empowerment policies chartered future company strategies. Implementation was delayed by the death of the CEO and an inexperienced successor. The company remained hamstrung by too-large exposures to a handful of big investments.

B. registerbasierte vergleichende Studien).

This chapter investigates how organizations have been adapting their performance measurement practices in response to their adoption of e-business in their business operations. It aims to identify the features and benefits of an effective e-business performance measurement system. Twelve organizations known to have had some success in developing performance measurement systems suitable for the online environment were studied. The researchers found that these organizations adopted an incremental rather than a radical approach to changing their performance measurement system for e-business, thereby avoiding the costs and disruption associated with the introduction of more complex performance metrics. Secondly, they eschewed the use of best practice recipes (such as the balanced scorecard). The study concludes that although these results may be at odds with the prescriptive generic performance measurement literature, they may be appropriate for the current state of development of e-business.

Previous research has shown that displaying the color red can increase attractiveness. As a result, women display red more often when expecting to meet more attractive men in a laboratory context. Here, we carried out a field study by analyzing 546 daters from the “First Dates” television series. Each participant was filmed in a pre-date interview and during a real first date, allowing direct comparison of the clothing worn by each person in these two contexts. Analysis of ratings of the amount of red displayed showed that both men and women wore more red clothing during their dates. This pattern was even stronger for black clothing, while the amount of blue clothing did not differ across the two contexts. Our results provide the first real-world demonstration that people display more red and black clothing when meeting a possible mate for the first time, perhaps seeking to increase their attractiveness and/or reveal their intentions to potential partners.

To satisfy the daily needs of an industrial unit, management should think seriously about Liquidity. Working Capital is such of capital that with the help of which a business remains in working condition. It remains live for any business units, Working Capital can be said to be its life. The role of working capital in business is akin to that o heart in the human body. Funds are the life blood of business body. Just as the hart circulates the blood to various organs of body, funds are rotated to various business activities through proper working capital management and any obstruction in the smooth rotation of funds, may causes serious problem in business operations. The generating of income from assets is a very good position in the majority of large and mid-cap companies, but VISA and KALYANI fail to increase its return on assets due to inefficient and ineffective uses of assets, so these companies should take necessary step to increase income by effective utilization of assets.Int. Pain is a multidimensional and subjective experience, and an ideal pain management regime needs to be comprehensive, integrative and involve all relevant persons. Multimodal interventions may include pharmacological, physical, social, psychological and spiritual approaches in order to address pain management at a molecular, functional, behavioural, cognitive and affective levels. Pain management interventions will vary according to pain aetiology, patient characteristics and preferences. In keeping with best practice guidelines for effective pain management, a structured approach incorporating an effective assessment of pain by the healthcare professional, identification of the source and type of pain and accurate documentation is essential. This article focuses on pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management for individuals with intellectual disability.
