<p><em>This study focused on testing and verifying the 2003 DeLone and McLean Model (otherwise known as the Information System Success [ISS] Model), which represents the achievement of success in electronic systems, including smartphone commercial applications. Previous studies indicated that the DeLone and McLean Model has not been validated experimentally in the context of m-commerce, as there exist some differences between m-commerce and e-commerce. Moreover, the ISS model, for the m-commerce field, has been highly debated in terms of constructs such as perceived usefulness and IS use. These constructs create discrepancies in the acceptance of the ISS Model for the m-commerce field, especially in communities that have different technological requirements than other global communities. Previous studies focusing on the relationship between culture and electronic systems indicated that there are differences in the communities’ requirements that will directly affect the success of those electronic systems in Arabic communities. According to previous studies, there are verification shortages in the ISS model used to evaluate the success of m-commerce systems. The ISS model consists of six dimensions, which are system quality, information quality, service quality, user satisfaction, intention to use, and net benefit. The structural equation modelling technique was applied to the data for this model, which was collected by questionnaire. Responses were gathered from 803 actual users of online purchasing systems from three Arabic Gulf countries (171 from Qatar, 246 from the United Arab Emirates [UAE], and 386 from Saudi Arabia [KSA]). According to empirical evidence on the intention to use construct, which in turn is affected significantly by system quality and information quality constructs, reusing m-commerce applications is associated with quality of systems and information requirements in commercial applications. The results of this study on Arabic society will be beneficial for many future studies, such as ones determining the target characteristics of Arabic technology users and, especially, what features can be added to increase the level of satisfaction with m-commerce applications. This paper contributes several important implications to the field and discusses the additions and limitations that should be addressed in future studies.</em></p>

This research considers the influence of quality on e-commerce success by measuring the information quality and system quality attributes of an e-commerce system and the intention to use, user satisfaction and intention to transact from a sample of respondents. This research provides an empirical e-commerce application of the updated IS success model proposed by DeLone and McLean (2003). This paper found significant relationships between Information Quality and System Quality and three success dimensions: intention to use, user satisfaction and intention to transact. It found the following constructs to be most important in predicting success: ease of understanding, personalisation and reliability. In particular, that reliability is more important than usability where transactions are concerned and security though important, is not the most important factor.

In achieving one of Brunei Vision 2035, which is to be among the top 10 in the world for quality of life, Ministry of Health (MOH) Brunei Darussalam has responded by implementing Brunei Healthcare Information and Management System (Bru-HIMS) that is equivalent to international best practices. Bru-HIMS has been implemented for about eight years since it first launched on 11 September 2012 where the outcome to user experience is unknown. Hence, this chapter investigates user satisfaction on Bru-HIMS specifically at RIPAS hospital and studies improvement towards providing quality healthcare in Brunei. DeLone and McLean Information System framework is applied to evaluate Bru-HIMS user satisfaction based on the six variables: information quality, system quality, service quality, intention to use and usage, perceived net benefits, and user satisfaction. Questionnaire survey was conducted to obtain primary data from Bru-HIMS. The findings demonstrate positive relationships between the six variables, which indicates Bru-HIMS has positively influenced Bru-HIMS users.

The aim of this paper is to examine one of the most crucial factors in the “Technology Acceptance Model” proposed by Davis (perceived usefulness) in moderating the “DeLone and McLean” success model in the context of educational portal in Higher Education. Questionnaires were distributed online to 200 respondents and deserved to be analyzed. The respondents were regular students at the University of Bengkulu. Data analysis used Smart-PLS version 3.2.9. The research findings indicated an influence of “system quality, information quality, and service quality partially on user satisfaction” of the educational portal information systems. The result shows that perceived usefulness can strengthen the relationship between system quality, information quality, and service quality to the satisfaction of customer. This research contributes to the development of perceived usefulness variable as a moderating variable affecting the quality of a system, quality of information, and quality of service partially on user satisfaction and finding strategies needed by the University of Bengkulu effective and efficient information system.

Purpose This study aims to determine system quality (SQ) and information quality (IQ) characteristics of voice assistants (VA) on smartphones that are affecting users’ satisfaction and technology acceptance, and how these affect behavioral intention (BI) to use. Design/methodology/approach This study uses the integrated model of user satisfaction and technology acceptance to evaluate users’ behavioral intention to use VAs on smartphones. The model represents a causal chain from the key characteristics of SQ and IQ to beliefs and attitudes that ultimately affect use. An online survey was conducted with 75 university students, and the data was analyzed using multivariate analysis: Simple linear regression analysis and multiple regression analysis. Findings While SQ and IQ of VAs had stronger effects on perceived ease of use (PEU), information satisfaction and PEU showed significant influences on perceived usefulness (PU). The results supported the influence of PEU, PU, and attitude on BI to use but with lesser effect than what PU and attitude together had on BI. Research limitations/implications The sample was drawn from a population of students at a single and small university. Although this study received 160 responses, only 75 were appropriate for analysis. Originality/value There is no research, which adopts technology acceptance and user satisfaction approaches to VAs. To measure the causal effects, this study determined system and information characteristics that could explain SQ and IQ of the current VAs on smartphones. This study tested the proposed framework within the scope of the integrated approach.

Background: The Government of Tanzania through the Ministry of Finance and Planning implemented the Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GePG) system to improve the whole cycle of revenue management. As of June 2020, the system has been implemented in 660 institutions, 28 commercial banks, and 6 mobile money operators. Whilst the initial acceptance of this system is positive, relatively no study has evaluated its effectiveness in meeting the expected benefits. Elsewhere, similar systems showed initial acceptance at the beginning, followed by failures after some years of use. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the effectiveness of GePG system to find out how effectively public money is spent.Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the success of GePG system using users’ satisfaction as a success measure.Method: The study adapted the updated Delone and Mclean Information Systems success model whereby perceived usefulness and trust in system were added as new factors. The sequential explanatory design research design integrating quantitative and qualitative data within a single investigation was adopted. A total of 442 users from 271 institutions in 11 regions in Tanzania participated in the study.Results: Trust in system, information quality, and perceived usefulness had a significant positive impact on users’ satisfaction with GePG system, whilst service quality had a significant negative impact. In contrast, system quality did not have an effect.Conclusion: The study shows that trust in system and perceived usefulness are important factors in the updated Delone and Mclean IS success model in evaluating user satisfaction with revenue collection systems. The findings from the open-ended questions and implications of the findings are discussed.

Information technology (IT) can either increase or decrease the ‘digital divide.’ Developing nations, such as Samoa, can leverage their economies with investment in IT, but investment is often determined by past information systems (IS) success. Exploratory research was conducted into the assessment and measurement of IS success by small and medium sized enterprises in Samoa, and the effect on IT investment. It was found that information quality, system quality, use, user satisfaction and financial impacts were the main dimensions according to which success was assessed, while intention to use, and cultural impacts were not usually assessed. Culture acted more as a moderator of the assessment. Measurements focused more on system related measures. Assessment on all dimensions impacted on future investment in IT.

With the influx of the Internet, Business to Customer E-commerce (B2c e-Commerce) has gained popularity around the globe. Although a number of researches has been done to know the factors affecting the adoption of e-commerce, however, not much research has done to know the effects of e-commerce on online shopping success.  DeLone and McLean introduced the Information System (IS) success model in year 1992, later on, refined the same model with the newer concept, to fully understand the effects of IS success. In this paper, authors have used the DeLone and McLean IS success model 2003 with addition two constructs Privacy and Trust.  Seven interrelated dimensions of e-commerce were examined namely, Service Quality, System Quality, Trust, Privacy, User satisfaction and Net benefits. The proposed model and the relationship between the various constructs were measured by gathering the data from 381 users from the business faculty of Klang valley universities in Malaysia. Seven interconnected dimensions of B2C e-commerce success were confirmed namely, Service Quality, System Quality, Information Quality, Trust, Privacy along with User Satisfaction and Net Benefits. Confirmatory Factor Analysis CFA and SEM were used to analyse the collected data and proved the hypothesis. The results revealed that system quality, service quality, trust and privacy are directly related to user satisfaction which in turn directly related to net benefits, whereas information quality has no any influence on user satisfaction in terms of e-commerce.

PurposeIn any developing country, the critical benefits for ensuring proper utilization of e-government learning services have basically emerged from the integration of underlying processes – not only across different levels of government but also across different functions and agencies. The literature showed a notable lack of research to underline the limited use of e-government learning services in a university setting. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine students' intention to adopt e-government learning services in a developing country. Precisely, the existent to which reputation, social influence, information quality and system quality of e-government learning services would influence students' trust, perceived usefulness and perceived learning values was investigated.Design/methodology/approachThe effect from these variables on students' intention to use e-government learning services was also investigated. A total of 406 questionnaires were collected and analyzed using partial least squares (PLS) modeling.FindingsThe results showed varying relationships between the study's variables. It is anticipated that understanding these relationships can predict future learning trends of e-government learning services use among university students, thus helping decision makers plan ahead, prioritize tasks and make better decisions.Originality/valueKnowledge about students' intention to use e-government learning services is even useful for the implementation of other services by higher education institutions. This study also offers some implications for practitioners and researchers concerned about the application of e-government in students' learning development.

The universities in Pakistan have recently started replacing their old legacy systems with ERP systems which are commonly used in business organizations to gain a competitive edge over competitors. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has implemented ERPs systems at eight different Universities in Pakistan. HEC has invested a huge amount of money to facilitate the integration, customization, and implementation of ERP systems in these universities. Previous studies have mainly focused on Critical Success Factors (CSFs) and risk factors of ERP systems. This study intends to empirically measure the support of ERP systems in teaching processes. DeLone and McLean model of Information Systems (IS) success is one of the most commonly used models cited in IS literature. In this study, the DeLone and McLean model was applied at a University level analysis to access the impact of ERP in higher educational institutions and their support in the improvement of academic processes. Hypotheses were tested on the research model using empirical data collected from 230 respondents, including students and faculty at two selected universities, with the use of a questionnaire. The data were analyzed by structural equation modeling. The model was empirically tested and the findings showed that use and user satisfaction affected most net benefits. Information quality, system quality, and service quality accounted for 42.6% effect in use. Whereas, information quality, system quality, service quality, and use accounted for 46.5% variance in user satisfaction.
