The aim of this paper is to give an overview of characteristics, factors and organizational performance of the leadership in the narrative manner. We live in a time of rapid, increasingly dramatic, far more complex and unpredictable changes, which have a significant effect on behavior, business and management in organizations. Such processes are most commonly referred to as “hyperchange”, “hypercompetition”, and “hyperturbulence”. These processes take place in the period which is referred to the terms as “digital revolution”, “information era”, “digital economics”, “internet economics”, “net economics”, “knowledge economy/knowledge society”, “postindustrial society”, “age of discontinuity”, “time of uncertainty”, “third wave”, etc. The responses to the rapid change in the environment in which sports organizations perform their business and have wider social mission, and which are increasingly discontinuous in their character, seek from managers to be transformational leaders. This implies that leaders have the capability to create a vision, mission, policy and strategy and their implementation, achieving a much greater overall value for consumers and large transformational shifts in the short term. In the environment which is more dynamic, unpredictable, or insecure, leadership change has become a more critical aspect of leadership study. Modern leadership concepts focus on the leadership that organizations and individuals need. The idea of a shared leadership, virtual, transformational and one that is based on elements of emotional intelligence, obtains the right of citizenship and becomes the dominant field of research in the field of modern corporate governance.

Our purpose in this study was to investigate the effect of empowerment on athletes, members, and employees' organizational commitment in Korean sports organizations through a meta-analysis. We selected 21 studies in which empowerment and organizational commitment had been investigated in the context of Korean sports organizations and performed a comprehensive meta-analysis. Results showed that the effect size of empowerment on commitment in sports organization was high. We identified meaningfulness, competence, impact, and selfdetermination as subfactors of empowerment. Employee commitment was derived from affective, normative, continuance, cognitive, and behavioral commitment types. Results showed that empowerment significantly affected commitment to the sports organization. Consequently, the findings provide a useful rationale for Korean sports organizations to apply empowerment and organizational commitment to enhance their organizational performance.

Industry 4.0 revolution, with its cutting-edge technologies, is an enabler for businesses, particularly in reducing the cost and improving the productivity. However, a large number of organizations are still too in their infancy to leverage the true potential of Industry 4.0 and its technologies. This paper takes a quantitative approach to reveal key insights from the companies that have implemented Industry 4.0 technologies. For this purpose, 238 technology companies in Malaysia were studied through a survey questionnaire. As technology companies are usually the first in line to adopt new technologies, they can be studied better as leaders in adopting the latest technologies. The findings of this descriptive study surfaced an array of insights in terms of Industry 4.0 readiness, Industry 4.0 technologies, leadership, strategy, and innovation. This research paper contributes by providing 10 key empirical insights on Industry 4.0 that can be utilized by managers to pace up their efforts towards digital transformation, and can help the policymakers in drafting the right policy to drive the digital revolution.

Following Vatican II changes are rapidly taking place within Dutch Catholicism — the bishops no longer make decisions in an authoritarian way: religious practice is de clining ; priests and religious are decreasing in numbers and many religious and pastoral experiments have come into being. KASKI has the responsibility of keeping pace with the Church during this process of change. In order to do this it makes use of several modes of work — the production of statistics relating to the position of religion in Society, the planning of religious and pastoral institutions and the study of new forms of the religious life in orders and congregations. For the first task it has used the same instruments for twenty- five years and the censuses thus produced yield valuable infor mation. As far as pastoral planning is concerned, it works in the field, playing the role of catalyst for those who have to make decisions and the people who have to carry out these decisions. This was the case, for instance, in the pastoral planning of the town of Eindhoven. Finally, when dealing with the new forms of communal religious life it adopts the method of studying through participation so that two of its researchers working in this sector are themselves members of religious groups. Applied research poses important problems, both from the methodological and from the political points of view. Amongst them may be noted the difficulty of determining precisely what constitutes rapid change in religious life, and the political choice of the persons for whom the research is being con ducted; the latter inevitably imposes a certain degree of conformity upon the perspectives of the work. (For example, the choice of the Dutch hierarchy which was to follow the general lines given by a large majority of Catholic opinion when it was tested particularly on questions like the liturgical and parochial changes). The fact, also, that the director of KASKI himself has a personal commitment to what may be described as the « right of centre » position in Dutch Catho licism poses problems for the work of the Institute. Political and religious radicalism is not a strong characteristic of the more senior research workers. KASKI is a rare example of a centre which brings socio logists together and uses their professional competence to accompany change in religious institutions.

The early twenty-first century is characterised by rapid change. Commentators note how permeating digital technologies engage increasing numbers of children, young people and adults as consumers and also producers. In the shifting technological landscape, childhood and youth are changing. Connectivity around the clock, with a parallel existence in virtual space, is seamlessly integrated with actual lives. Young people are skilful collaborators, navigating digital gaming and social networking with ease, capably generating and manipulating content, experimenting virtually with versions of their 'social face'. They are implicit, inherent and immersed consumers. They are digital possibility thinkers posing 'what if?' questions and engaging in 'as if' activity. This paper seeks to theorise such possibility thinking in a digital, marketised age, using two competing discourses: young people as vulnerable and at risk; or alternatively as capable and potent. The former perspective imbues anxiety about the digital revolution; the latter embraces it as exciting and enabling. As education providers seek to re-imagine themselves, neither is sufficient. Local and global challenges urgently demand our creative potential and wisdom. Drawing from work with schools, the paper argues for co-creating with students their education futures through dialogue to nurture the 4 Ps: plurality, playfulness, participation and possibilities.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Training and Information Technology (IT) Management on Organizational Performance. Based on a theoretical foundation and a wide review of the literature, the model of the research was proposed.  To achieve the research purpose, this study has integrated different theories such as Resource Based View of the Firm (RBV), Knowledge Based View (KBV) in order to analyze the effect of Training and IT Management on Organizational Performance. 341 Questionnaires were distributed among random selected sample of Sharjah Police departments in Sharjah city in Emirates. 245 questionnaires were returned and used in the analysis using the SPSS system. The results of this study demonstrate that including Information Technology (IT) Management has positive and significant effect on Organizational Performance in Sharjah Police. This study reflects the importance of the right implementation to the Training and IT Management to have successful performance. This study also supported the premises of the resource-based view theory by reaffirming the importance of the including Training and IT Management to enhance organizational performance.

ccess to innovative scientific, literary, and artistic content has never been more important to the public than now, in the digital age. Thanks to the digital revolution carried out through such means as super-computational power at super-affordable prices, the Internet, broadband penetration, and contemporary computer science and technology, the global, national, and local public finds itself at the convergence of unprecedented scientific and cultural knowledge and content development, along with unprecedented means to distribute, communicate, and access that knowledge. This Article joins the conversation on the Access-to-Knowledge, Access-to- Medicine, and Access-to-Art movements by asserting that the copyright restrictions affecting knowledge, innovation, and original thought implicate copyright’s originality and idea-expression doctrines first and fair use doctrine second. The parallel conversation in copyright law that focuses on the proper definition of the contours of copyright as described in the U.S. Supreme Court’s most recent constitutional law cases on copyright—Feist, Eldred, Golan, and Kirtsaeng—interprets the originality and idea-expression doctrines as being necessary for the proper balance between copyright protection and First Amendment freedom of expression. This Article seeks to join together the two conversations by focusing attention on the right to access published works under both copyright and First Amendment law. Access to works is part and parcel of the copyright contours debate. It is a “first principles” question to be answered before the question of manipulation, appropriation, or fair use is contemplated. The original intent of the Copyright Clause and its need to accommodate the First Amendment freedom of expression support the construction of the contours of copyright to include a right to access knowledge and information. Therefore, the originality and idea-expression doctrines should be reconstructed to recognize that the right to deny access to published works is extremely limited if not non-existent within the properly constructed contours of copyright.

The governing nonlinear steady equations for oxygen transport in a microfluidic channel are solved analytically. The Lagrange inversion theorem is used which admits complete integrable solutions in the channel. Considering a cell-rich and cell free region with RBCs and blood plasma, we obtain results showing clearly that there is a significant decrease in oxygen tension in the vicinity of an oxygen permeable membrane placed on the upper channel/tube wall and to the right side of it in the downstream field. The purpose of the membrane is to cause a rapid change in oxygen saturation as RBC’s flow through channel/tube. To the right of the membrane downstream the greatest amount of ATP is released. The method of solution is compared to numerical results. The analytical results obtained could prove useful for the corresponding time dependent problem in future studies.

For businesses to keep pace with contemporary workforce changes, it is imperative to foster an inclusive work environment that empowers, values, identifies, and capitalizes on the workforces’ talents, skills, and abilities. Although diversity is recognized as a crucial element for organizational performance, its measurement lacks standardization. Organizations tend to follow simplistic assessment approaches, typically by tracking and measuring salient areas (i.e., easily measured areas such as the demographics of the organization and/or promotion rates). Thus, they fail to evaluate the actual effectiveness of diversity initiatives. Given that this approach is limited and lacks the substance that would inform organizational strategies of the need to increase employee engagement and productivity, the authors leveraged the expertise of two practitioners to discuss methods for measuring the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion programs. In addition, diversity is discussed as related to innovation, employee engagement, and change management, thereby leading to suggestions for future research.
