Abstract: This paper explores privacy issues in relation to the growing prominence of marketing research and data mining in websites for children. Whereas increasing protection is given to individuals’ personal information, little attention is paid to information that is aggregated, electronically scanned, and sorted — despite the fact that aggregate information is often highly valued by the marketing industry. The authors review current trends in Internet market research, data mining techniques, policy initiatives, and the contents of some of the most highly frequented children’s game sites. The paper demonstrates how common data mining practices constitute a threat to children’s emerging rights online. Résumé : Cet article explore la question de la vie privée des enfants et la proéminence croissante de la recherche marketing et le « data mining » dans le développement et gestion des sites Web pour enfants. De plus en plus, l’incorporation des technologies «data mining» dans les sites Web résultent en un fusionnement de contenu et commerce, ce qui élève un nombre de questions concernant les droits des enfants et les responsabilités des chercheurs. Les auteurs concluent que les droits naissants des enfants en ligne sont à risque dans ce contexte commercial de l’Internet.

Demographic attributes of customers such as gender, age, etc. provide the important information for e-commerce service providers in marketing, personalization of web applications. However, the online customers often do not provide this kind of information due to the privacy issues and other reasons. In this paper, we proposed a method for predicting the gender of customers based on their catalog viewing data on e-commerce systems, such as the date and time of access, the products viewed, etc. The main idea is that we extract the features from catalog viewing information and employ the classification methods to predict the gender of the viewers. The experiments were conducted on the datasets provided by the PAKDD’15 Data Mining Competition and obtained the promising results with a simple feature design, especially with the Bayesian Network method along with other supporting techniques such as resampling, cost-sensitive learning, boosting etc.

Hallucinogens are a drug class that is growing in popularity with college students. Recent experimental trends, such as microdosing, have helped promote the use of hallucinogens on campus, and students may be tempted to use these substances due to their beliefs about the drugs’ positive effects on mood. Although hallucinogens are not currently an established form of medical therapy, studies have shown that they have significant benefits as adjunctive treatments for psychological disorders. However, the recreational use of these drugs in college students often occurs in uncontrolled doses or with drug mixing, which is often dangerous. Furthermore, students with mental health disorders may have their symptoms masked by hallucinogenic drug use, which could delay treatment and have serious consequences. Long-term use of these drugs may also result in tolerance or hallucinogen persisting perception disorder. This article attempts to review current information regarding hallucinogen use and how it applies to the college population.

In mobile business (m-business), a client sends its exact locations to service providers. This data may involve sensitive and private personal information. As a result, misuse of location information by the third party location servers creating privacy issues for clients. This paper provides an overview of the privacy protection techniques currently applied by location-based mobile business. The authors first identify different system architectures and different protection goals. Second, this article provides an overview of the basic principles and mechanisms that exist to protect these privacy goals. In a third step, the authors provide existing privacy protection measures.

Marketing research is defined as "the systematic and objective process of gathering, recording, and analyzing data for aid in making marketing decision." The essence of marketing research is to provide information used in decision making, and for the entrepreneur; there are fundamental differences between market information needed prior to start up and after a firm is established. Prior to opening for business, the entrepreneur wants to know whether a market exist for a new product or service, who is likely to be a primary customer, how to position the enterprise in a market, and how the product or service will be priced, promoted and distributed. Addressing these issues become part of the pre start up planning process. Once a firm has become established, much of this information is authenticated through actual experience, and market research expands to include a continuous competitive analysis.An effort has been made to demonstrate the above mentioned characteristics of marketing research undertaken by the entrepreneurs. The first half of the article portrays an effective framework of the methodology for marketing research. Entrepreneurial marketing research differs from its normal counterpart. These exclusive features are expressed and discussed in details. In the second part of the article, an effort has been made to narrate the nature of marketing research that can be ideally applied to all the different stages of successful venture life cycle. The functioning of all the different stage of the life cycle are discussed with the corresponding marketing research techniques that can be ideally applied, being expressed.

Introduction: Osteoporosis is a disease that reduces bone density and loses the quality of bone microstructure leading to an increased risk of fractures. It is one of the major causes of inability and death in elderly people. The current study aims at determining the factors influencing the incidence of osteoporosis and providing a predictive model for the disease diagnosis to increase the diagnostic speed and reduce diagnostic costs. Methods: An Individual's data including personal information, lifestyle, and disease information were reviewed. A new model has been presented based on the Cross-Industry Standard Process CRISP methodology. Besides, Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Bayes methods (Tree Augmented Naïve Bayes (TAN)) and Clementine12 have been used as data mining tools. Results: Some features have been detected to affect this disease. The rules have been extracted that can be used as a pattern for the prediction of the patients' status. Classification precision was calculated to be 88.39% for SVM, and 91.29% for  (TAN) when the precision of  TAN  is higher comparing to other methods. Conclusion: The most effective factors concerning osteoporosis are detected and can be used for a new sample with defined characteristics to predict the possibility of osteoporosis in a person.

Summary Objectives: To introduce and analyse current trends in Public Health and Epidemiology Informatics. Methods: PubMed search of 2020 literature on public health and epidemiology informatics was conducted and all retrieved references were reviewed by the two section editors. Then, 15 candidate best papers were selected among the 920 references. These papers were then peer-reviewed by the two section editors, two chief editors, and external reviewers, including at least two senior faculty, to allow the Editorial Committee of the 2021 International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) Yearbook to make an informed decision regarding the selection of the best papers. Results: Among the 920 references retrieved from PubMed, four were suggested as best papers and the first three were finally selected. The fourth paper was excluded because of reproducibility issues. The first best paper is a very public health focused paper with health informatics and biostatistics methods applied to stratify patients within a cohort in order to identify those at risk of suicide; the second paper describes the use of a randomized design to test the likely impact of fear-based messages, with and without empowering self-management elements, on patient consultations or antibiotic requests for influenza-like illnesses. The third selected paper evaluates the perception among communities of routine use of Whole Genome Sequencing and Big Data technologies to capture more detailed and specific personal information. Conclusions: The findings from the three studies suggest that using Public Health and Epidemiology Informatics methods could leverage, when combined with Deep Learning, early interventions and appropriate treatments to mitigate suicide risk. Further, they also demonstrate that well informing and empowering patients could help them to be involved more in their care process.

This is a final project report on a problem at maru design agency. Maru design is a strategic and brand design agency which provides company with their services of branding and rebranding. The services help their client to create and develop brands and solve the company’s. Their services need to research about the product of the client’s brand or prospect’s brand, but there is no clear procedure to do market research even though it is important step to attract prospect and before they develop the brand. Thus, marketing research guideline is needed for maru design. Guideline is used as procedures by which to determine a course of action. The guideline will consist of prospect’s information, product analysis, customer analysis, and competitor analysis to provide a detailed data and information. Corporoplasty is urological correction surgery for penile deviation that causes copulatory dysfunction or aesthetic discomfort. Penile deviation can be congenital or acquired (Peyronie’s disease, penile fracture). Congenital penile deviation is relatively rare and manifests in the curvature of erect penis ventrally and/or laterally, in most cases. According to many studies, patients with curvatures of 30° or more eventually seek surgical treatment. Congenital curvature may be mistaken for Peyronie’s disease for similar manifestations that, however, differ in aetiology and pathophysiology. Excisional, incisional corporoplasty or plication are commonly engaged to treat congenital curvatures, in various techniques and modifications. Augmentation transplantation (grafting) and penile prosthesis implantation with variant deviation treatment options are the usual practice in Peyronie’s disease. Unequivocal judgment of pros and cons in any particular technique is nevertheless implausible to make. This article aims to review current trends, protocols and their relative advantages in corporoplasty.
