Cooperative research and development behavior in technology-based small enterprises: The formation mechanism

Technology-based small enterprises are an important component of regional economic development and scientific and technological innovation; their cooperative research and development (R&D) behavior of employees of these enterprises plays a significant role in promoting their innovation efficiency. With 351 valid samples collected from administrative staff members of enterprises in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Jiangsu, we conducted an empirical test, based on the theory of planned behavior. We performed correlation analysis and structural equation modeling and found a positive effect of behavioral attitude, subjective norm, self-efficacy, and perception of controllability of cooperative R&D on the cooperative R&D behavior in technologybased small enterprises. We concluded that cooperative R&D intention serves as an important mediating variable for these factors in generating enterprise behavior. The impact of perception of controllability on cooperative R&D behavior of the employees in technology-based small enterprises was nonsignificant, and selfefficacy directly engendered cooperative R&D behavior.

<p><em>The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of price and service quality on customer satisfaction to increase words of mouth. Data were collected by distributes questionnaires to 110 patient of Bhayangkara Polda DIY Hospital. Then, data was analyzed using structural equation modeling. The result showed that service quality, price and image have positive effect on patient satisfaction and patient satisfaction has a positive effect on words of mouth. The results also shows that image have the highest effect in creating the satisfaction. Therefore, the models of words of mouth have acceptable.</em></p>

The purpose of this research are to: examine empirically the effect of customer satisfaction to trust on customer, the impact of security to trust on customer, the impact of the customer satisfaction to repurchase intention on customer, the effect of security to repurchase intention on customer, the effect of trust to repurchase intention on customer, the effect of customer satisfaction to repurchase intention through trust as intervening variable on customer, the effect of security to repurchase intention through trust as intervening variable on customer of Elevenia website online. This research used survey methods for collecting data. The object of this research is 200 respondents who had purchased in Elevenia website online for a period of one year backward. This research used SPSS software version 22 and SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) LISREL version 8.7 for data analysis. Hypothesis testing showed that: the customer satisfaction has a positive effect and significance on trust, the security has a positive effect and significance on trust, the customer satisfaction has a positive effect and significance on repurchase intention, the security has a positive effect and significance on repurchase intention, the customer satisfaction has a positive effect and significance on repurchase intention through trust as intervening variable and the security has a positive effect and significance on repurchase intention through trust as intervening variable.   Keywords: Customer Satisfaction, Security, Trust, Repurchase Intention.

This paper proposes an empirically tested model that explains the significance of project development phases for the project success, and the impact of project people on each phase. The conceptual model includes six inter-related components: project success as the ultimate target, project team, customer, and three process steps: planning, execution, and control. The empirical test was performed in the context of information systems (IS) projects. Usable data were obtained from a survey of 603 IS professionals and were analysed through structural equation modeling, factor analysis, and descriptive analysis. The results provide good empirical support for the proposed theoretical model. They reveal a significant direct relationship between project planning and control components and project success, and the indirect impact of project execution phase on the project success through mediating project control component. Furthermore, results emphasize the importance of the people aspect for successful execution of each of the introduced process steps.

This research aimed to examine the impact of growth and systematic risk on company value, mediated by profitability in insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). There are 88 companies in the financial sector in the insurance sub-sector listed on the IDX. They were taken as the population by using the purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study consisted of fourteen insurance companies. The data is analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). It was found that growth has a significant positive effect on profitability, and profitability has a significant positive effect on firm value. It means that profitability fully mediates the effect of growth on firm value. On the contrary, growth does not have a significant direct effect on firm value. Systematic risk has no significant effect on profitability and firm value. These findings are expected to have a good impact on investors and firms’ managers in Indonesia by looking at the growth and its impact on current corporate values.

This study examines the effect of compensation, organizational culture and Islamic work ethic directly towards the job satisfaction and performance of the lecturers and the effect of compensation, organizational culture and Islamic work ethic towards the performance of lecturers through job satisfaction. This study was conducted at the Private Islamic University in Indonesia. The population of the study is 295 lecturers. The data were analyzed using The Structural Equation Modeling with LISREL 8.80 applications. The results showed that compensation, organizational culture and Islamic work ethic have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction has a positive effect on the performance. Compensation, organizational culture and Islamic work ethic have a positive effect on the performance of lecturers significantly. Compensation and organizational culture have a significant effect on the performance through job satisfaction while Islamic work ethic does not significantly influence the performance of lecturers through job satisfaction.

Amid the growth of COVID-19 pandemic, SMEs are facing greater uncertainties and pressures to survive because even though they are efficiently managed, their human resource organizations lack a large number of resources and a well-developed training system to foster the sustainable development of employees. Employees are important assets of the company, and their continuous growth and development are keys to the survival of the company. In this context, the individual worker’s assessment of his or her job role and how the assessments drive the employee to exhibit an appropriate proactive work behavior are particularly important. Previous research has typically focused on how organizations and leaders perceive employees but has rarely explored employees’ own implicit followership cognitive states. This study integrates the traits of positive implicit followership of employees, namely, industry trait, enthusiasm trait, and good citizen trait, with perceived supervisor support (PSS) and feedback-seeking behavior (FSB) into one research framework. In this study, 207 valid questionnaires were collected by using offline convenience sampling, and structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis was conducted. The results show that employees’ industry traits directly and positively influence FSB, while enthusiasm traits and good citizen traits have no direct effect on promoting FSB. In addition, industry trait, enthusiasm trait, and good citizen trait significantly and positively influence PSS, with good citizen trait having the greatest positive effect on PSS. Furthermore, PSS has a significant positive effect on FSB. Finally, PSS was found to mediate between industry traits and FSB. Corresponding to the results of the study, the actions shaping employees’ positive implicit followership cognition and forming a good supportive atmosphere to promote employees’ performance of more feedback-seeking behaviors are recommended.

AbstractThe aim of the research was to examine the effects of satisfaction and commitment of employees on the employees’ loyalty and to investigate the effect of employees’ loyalty on quality of services provided for customers. This research is applied in terms of objective and correlational type of descriptive-survey in terms of data collection. Population of the research includes two groups. The first group included employees providing service to customers of Ports and Maritime Organization of Bushehr (Iran) and the second group included customers receiving the services of the organization. From both groups, 250 people were selected using available sampling method to respond to questions of the research. To test the research conceptual model and research hypotheses, structural equation modeling was used. The results showed that job satisfaction of employees have significant positive effect on organizational commitment of employees. Also, job satisfaction and organizational commitment of employees have significant positive effect on their loyalty to organization. In addition, organizational loyalty of employees has positive and significant impact on improving the quality of customer service. Therefore, organizations should make their effort to recruit employees who are suitable for their activities.

PurposeThis study aimed to verify the impact of consumers' self-congruity on brand loyalty behavior when stock-out happens; the role of the psychological reactance theory as a mediator was assessed.Design/methodology/approachData collection was carried out in the form of a questionnaire survey. Data from 417 respondents were analyzed, and structural equation modeling was applied to test the hypotheses.FindingsThe findings revealed the positive significant impact of consumers' self-congruity on their brand loyalty behavior, and the mediating effect of psychological reactance between self-congruity and consumers' brand loyalty behavior.Practical implicationsThis study offers retailers/brand owners a deeper understanding of the remedy strategy needed to reduce the sales loss in their firms when stock-out happens.Originality/valueThis study provides a theoretical and empirical test on the influence of consumers' self-congruity on their brand loyalty behavior, bringing consumers' psychological reactance into the research as a mediating factor, thereby enriching the existing research on consumers' out-of-stock reactions.

This study attempts to investigate the role of knowledge management (KM) in commercial companies. To this end, the literature was reviewed and relevant components were extracted to conceptualize KM and organizational performance, (OP) and the relationship between KM and OP was presented in a theoretical framework. Secondly, to assess the proposed model, a questionnaire was given to 200 participants in five commercial companies, chosen through multi-stage stratified sampling. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) and Lisrel 8.8. The results revealed that the model enjoyed an acceptable degree of fit. The obtained coefficient (0.41) showed a direct impact of KM indices on OP, indicating the significant and positive relationship between KM and OP dimensions such as financial performance, quality of goods and services, staff members’ performance, innovation, and customers’ level of satisfaction.

Leadership and innovation management are academic disciplines of high interest to scholars for decades. The fast changing and volatile business environment require companies to constantly improve their processes to remain competitive on the market. In particular, real estate development companies significantly benefit from innovativeness as each property development is unique, underlies different construction purposes and laws. Therefore, real estate developers need to bring the developable area in line with the building construction. One major driver to boost the competitiveness of organisations can be found in the individual innovative work behaviour of employees. To benefit from the individual’s innovative work behaviour, leadership embodies a major influence factor. In particular, this article examines how leader attitudes affect the innovative work behaviour of staff members working in real estate development companies. Therefore, the author developed and calculated a structural equation model to examine this relationship. The results from the structural equation modelling show that integrity and loyalty positively and significantly affect the innovative work behaviour of employees in real estate development companies. Consequently, demonstrating loyalty and integrity from leaders towards staff members improves the innovativeness of the entire organisation. Moreover, this research supports the relevance for the trait approach to leadership as leader attitudes contribute to different extents to the innovative work behaviour.
