Abstract Selection of an appropriate sterilization modality requires an understanding of certain key aspects of the product under consideration. Primary aspects to be considered include understanding of the product's intended use and details of the product design. This article reviews these primary considerations for sterilization modality selection and demonstrates the sterilization modality selection process through several example case studies.

A large number of choices of houses often makes prospective buyers feel doubtful or difficult when they have to determine directly which house to buy because, in the selection of housing to be purchased, no system will assist in choosing the housing to be purchased so that in the selection process, you still use your mind. There is no calculation at the time of the selection of housing to be purchased. The purpose of this research is to produce a housing selection decision support system. The criteria proposed in the housing selection process are housing prices, distance from the city, distance to the nearest market, [1], type of housing, distance to public roads, distance to lava. From the results of the election using the system that has been created. With ten alternatives, with their respective interests. The criteria used are: price =5, type of house = 5, distance to city center = 2, distance to the nearest market = 2, distance to public roads = 4 distance from housing to lava = 5, has obtained an alternative that will be recommended, namely the residential sapphire housing 70 with the highest value of 0.65Keywords: Housing, Selection, Decision Support System, Multi-Attribute Utility Theory.

As the need for nasal, ocular, spinal, and articular therapeutic compounds increases, toxicology assessments of drugs administered via these routes play an important role in human safety. This symposium outlined the local and systemic evaluation to support safety during the development of these drugs in nonclinical models with some case studies. Discussions included selection of appropriate species for the intended route; conducting nonclinical studies that closely mimic the intended use with adequate duration; functional assessment, if deemed necessary; evaluation of local tissues with special histological staining procedure; and evaluations of safety margins based on local and systemic toxicity.

Any selection decision of supply chain coordination schemes (SCCS) is essentially affected by the environment where the schemes are to be implemented, the necessary conditions required for their implementation, the risk associated with the implementation, and the impact on the performance of the supply chain. Because of the multi-dimensional characteristics; the selection of appropriate SCCS in a given situation remains a challenging task for supply chain managers. This study explores relevant factors that influence this selection process. A structural model is proposed to capture relationships among these factors for development of Impact Relationship Maps (IRM) by applying Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) and Maximum Mean De-Entropy (MMDE) algorithm. A study has been conducted and the outcome leads to add significant value to the decision making process with knowledge on the roles of the factors and inter-factor relations which helps in taking meaningful decision on SCCS selection and implementation.

The power requirement of machinery is a necessary consideration for the sizing and selection of machine elements in the design process. The decision process of designing gears, belt drives, clutches, brakes, and bearings are designed and sized based on the power requirement of the application. I have written a software program that calculates the power requirements for three different design applications. This software program simplifies and streamlines the design and selection process by allowing the student to calculate the horsepower and torque requirement.

Abstract This paper presents an approach wherein product design is viewed as a selection process with two main stages: design alternative generation and design alternative evaluation. The focus of this paper is mainly on a design alternative evaluation model in that designer’s preferences, customers’ preferences, and market competition are accounted for in order to select the best possible design. In the model, uncertainties in the product design life, market size and its yearly change, cost and its yearly change, price, and discount rate are considered. Product design selection of a cordless screwdriver is used as a demonstration example. However, the emphasis in the example is on the approach, and not on the details per se.

Marketing automation platforms are an efficient tool for the collection, analysis and the processing of customer information. As a consequence, they are a highly relevant aspect of modern marketing, both for the practical and academic discussion. The rising demand implicates a more complex vendor landscape, whereby the comparison and selection of marketing technology are getting increasingly difficult. This article is an analytical and conceptual paper. The research question deals with the identification of indicators regarding the selection of a suitable marketing automation platform. Initially, the increasing necessity of marketing technology is pointed out. A general understanding of marketing automation as relevant subarea of marketing technology will be enabled. For this reason, a definition, relevant features as well as chances and risks are presented on the basis of a critical literature research. A holistic decision model for choosing a marketing automation solution complements the basic information and shows a selection procedure as well as the most essential selection and evaluation indicators. The specific contribution for academic discussion is twofold: Firstly, the key aspects of marketing automation are presented, and its basics are introduced. Secondly, this paper describes a framework that serves as recommendation and orientation for the selection process of marketing automation platforms and marketing technology.

3D printed electronics introduces new opportunities in product design. On the other side, it also brings challenges regarding many aspects in the design and manufacturing process of prototypes/products. In this paper, based on our preliminary investigations, we summarize the opportunities of using 3D printed electronics in product design as: 1) it offers designers more freedom in their designs; 2) it promotes miniaturization of design; 3) it accelerates the design and manufacturing process; 4) it is able to improve the efficiency of producing customized/personalized mechatronic/electronic products and 5) it improves the sustainability in the product design and manufacturing process. Motivated by those opportunities, we conducted four case studies regarding four key aspects of 3D printed electronics: the conductive materials, geometric modelling, multiphysics simulation and manufacturing tools. Based on the findings in those case studies, we identified the challenges in 3D printed electronics and highlight the future works which may provide a better support to the needs of product designers.
