One of the needs for competence in the world of work in the 21st century and the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. is competence in using digital technology. Vocational education is required to provide digital competencies to students through their learning. The maturity level of digital technology competence is divided into five levels, namely caring, literacy, capability, creativity, and being critical of using digital technology. This study aims to analyze the maturity level of vocational education teachers and students in mastering digital technology in learning. The survey research uses a design developed by Rea & Parker. A total of 233 vocational high school students were included as the research sample. Data were collected using a questionnaire technique with a four Likert scale questionnaire instrument. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics t test. The results show that the maturity level of digital technology for teachers and students is sequential, starting from awareness, literacy, capability, creativity, and being critical of using digital technology. All levels of maturity are included in the low category. Various trainings and learning innovations that are relevant to the relevance of digital technology mastery competencies are very important to be improved.

This study aimed to determine the pattern of principals' leadership in implementing fair and tolerant leadership towards teachers and students who have different ethnicities, races, and religions. This study uses qualitative research methods, with the type of descriptive research. The subjects of this study were 6 teachers and 4 Vocational High School students. This study uses primary data and secondary data as data sources. At the same time, the data collection tools are through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The test of data validity is done by extending the period of observation, triangulation, and careful observation, and conducting member and checks so that the information obtained can be used in research in accordance with what was meant by the informant. Based on the findings, it is obtained that the principal's ethics of justice can be seen through the implementation of policies in his daily life, such as determining rewards and punishments based on fairness and tolerance regardless of race, ethnicity, and religion.

The process of preparing students on vocational education that includes the development of skills, competency, understanding, attitudes, work habits and the appreciation needed by workers to enable them to work successfully in their fields should be of interest to educators in vocational education institutions. Early observations of science and the emphasis on authentic assessment suggested that the 2013 curriculum for vocational high school is a renewal or innovation of the previous curriculum. The research is done through descriptive-qualitative re-search method. The population in this study is all teachers of vocational subject vocational competence of building drawing techniques in Bantul Regency. The technique of collecting data through an interview, observation, and documentation, data is analyzed to get a description about research object. The results showed that the selection of strategies and learning approaches should be studied closely, especially in relation to their relevance to learning missions, learning objectives, students' potential and characteristics, and environ-mental resources. Vocational teachers have at least four important roles in developing students' employability skills, namely the role of teachers as demonstrators, as mediators, as evaluators and as competent individuals. Implementation of the 2013 curriculum learning on the competence of building drawing techniques from several previous studies can be concluded to be implemented adequately.

AbstractThe high Open Unemployment Rate for secondary education in South Kalimantan is 7.73%, indicating that the results of high school and vocational education have not met their goals. The method used is a cross-sectional method, with research data in 2018, which is converted in the form of present value. Data collection tools are questionnaires. The results showed that: (1) the average direct personal costs of high school students were greater than the vocational school students, namely Rp9,076,630.00 > Rp8,947,133.33 in Banjarmasin City, and Rp11,521,000.00 > Rp3,687,333.33 in Banjar Regency, on the contrary in Banjarbaru City the average direct personal costs of high school students were smaller than those of  vocational education students, namely Rp11,606,133.33 < Rp13,379,666.67; (2) indirect student personal costs are Rp35,958,000.00 per year; (3) the main income of senior high school and vocational high school graduates per year is Rp82,800,000.00 for the highest income, and the lowest is Rp26,640,000.00; (4) there is no difference in individual economic service fees between high school and vocational high school graduates, with a price of -tcount> -ttable or -0.208> -2.007, with p > 0.05.Keywords: student personal costs, employee income, individual economic benefits AbstrakTingkat Pengangguran Terbuka yang tinggi untuk pendidikan menengah di Kalimantan Selatan yaitu 7,73%, mengindikasikan bahwa hasil pendidikan SMA dan SMK belum memenuhi sasarannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode cross-sectional, dengan data penelitian tahun 2018, yang dikonversi dalam bentuk present value. Alat pengumpul data adalah kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) rata-rata biaya personal langsung siswa SMA lebih besar daripada siswa SMK, yaitu Rp9.076.630,00 > Rp8.947.133,33 di Kota Banjarmasin, dan Rp11.521.000,00 > Rp3.687.333,33 di Kabupaten Banjar, sebaliknya di Kota Banjarbaru rata-rata biaya personal langsung siswa SMA lebih kecil daripada siswa SMK, yaitu Rp11.606.133,33 < Rp13.379.666,67; (2) biaya personal tidak langsung siswa adalah Rp35.958.000,00 per tahun; (3) penghasilan utama karyawan tamatan SMA dan SMK per tahun adalah Rp82.800.000,00 untuk penghasilan tertinggi, dan terendah Rp26.640.000,00; (4) tidak ada perbedaan imbal jasa ekonomi perorangan antara karyawan tamatan SMA dan SMK, dengan harga -thitung > -ttabel atau -0,208 > -2,007, dengan p > 0,05.Kata Kunci: biaya personal siswa, penghasilan karyawan, imbal jasa ekonomi perorangan.

Vocational graduates' readiness for selecting careers is an important topic for vocational education research. Although there have been many studies on vocational student career selection readiness, there are only few studies on the roles of teaching quality, social capital, and psychological capital in shaping vocational students' readiness for selecting careers. This study aims to examine the antecedent factors of high school students' readiness for career selection which involve teaching quality, psychological capital, and social capital factors. This study employed the quantitative approach with ex-post facto design. The data were randomly collected from 279 vocational high school students in North Lampung-Indonesia by means of online questionnaires. SEM analysis was carried out in this study to see the effects among variables. The results show that readiness for selecting careers is influenced by teaching quality and psychological capital, as social capital does not directly influence student readiness. Besides, psychological capital is influenced by teaching quality and social capital. Then, social capital is influenced by teaching quality. Social and psychological capitals together mediate the effect of teaching quality on the readiness for selecting careers. The research findings present some implications for vocational education practitioners wishing to make further improvements.

Model penilaian formatif Web-based dibagi menjadi tiga siklus yaitu siklus prapembelajaran, siklus pembelajaran dan siklus pascapembelajaran. Penelitian kali ini mengembangkan siklus prapembelajaran model penilaian web-based pada mata pelajaran fisika materi suhu dan kalor untuk siswa SMK kelas X. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Langkah-langkah yang digunakan untuk pengembangan siklus prapembelajaran model penilaian formatif web-based yaitu 1) mengumpulkan informasi, 2) melakukan perencanaan, 3) mengembangkan bentuk produk awal, 4) melakukan uji permulaan, 5) revisi, dan 6) Uji coba. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba, ditemukan bahwa siklus prapembelajaran model penilaian formatif web-based dapat membantu guru dan siswa untuk mendapatkan umpan balik yang cepat. Umpan balik yang cepat dapat membantu siswa untuk mendapatkan pemahaman konsep dengan cepat dan dapat membantu guru untuk menemukan masalah siswa sehingga dapat dipecahkan dengan cepat.Web-based Formative Assessment Model is divided into three cycles: pre-teaching, whilst teaching, post-teaching. This research develops Pre-teaching Cycle of Formative Web-Based Assessment Model on physics material teaching: Temperature and Heat for X Grader of Vocational High School Students. The method used in this research is a Research and Development (R & D). The steps used for the development of pre-learning cycle of web-based formative assessment models: 1) collecting information, 2) conducting planning, 3) developing pre-product form, 4) conducting pre-test, 5) revision, 6) trial test. Based on the trial test, the findings show that pre-teaching cycle of formative web-based assessment model is able to assist teachers and students to get fast feedback. Fast feedback can helps students to gain fast conceptual comprehension and help teachers to find out the students problems so it enables to solve faster.

This study investigated how is the perception of high school of vocational in tourism program study students in communicating foreign language and revealed the competence in twenty-first century skills. There are about 125 respondents who participated out from 150 survey spread on the vocational high schools that held tourism program study in Yogyakarta involving the teachers and students. The data were collected through comprehensive questionnaire. The results shown that the subjects had following in common and compared result to the teachers shown that perceptual matches and mismatches between the two groups. Through One-Way ANOVA test (P<0.05), there found 7 items in communicative competence that significantly difference in students perception and 18 items on 21st century skills. Meanwhile, the perception between students and teachers, there found 9 items that significantly difference.

The aim of this study was to determine the views of students at the elementary level to be accepted as a digital native. The participants of the study were 103 students enrolled in four different elementary level schools in Ankara in the spring semester of the 2013-2014 academic year. Data were collected through open ended questions that were answered by students. The results of the study were analyzed by use of content analyses procedure. Firstly, in research, base and sub-categories were determined, then emerge as new categories were added. %95 of the Commercial Vocational High School students demand SMART Board and tablets as with other three schools. It is observed that Blocking access to YouTube and twitter is a significant problem for digital native children.Students reported opinions about the conscious use of technology, the use of more technology in education, computer courses should be taught at an advanced level for the profession of the future wil be technology-based.Keywords: Digital technology, adolescents’ attitudes towards digital technology, adolescence and technology, digital natives, technology.

Abstract Implementation of demonstration method in the teaching of chemistry is assigned as the right strategy to improve students’ achievement as it is proved that the method can bring an abstract concept to reality in the class. The study is conducted to vocational high school students in SMKN1 Pargetteng getteng Sengkut Pakfak Barat at accademic year 2013. The teaching has been carried out three cycles on the teaching of chemistry topic of colloid system. In the study, the class is divided into two class, experiment class and control class. The demontration method is used to teach students in experimental class while the teaching in control class is conducted with lecture method. Both are evaluated by using multiple choise tests before and after the teaching procedures, and the ability of students to answer the problems are assigned as students’ achievements. The results showed that demonstration method improved students’ achievement in chemistry. The students in experimental class who are taughed with demonstration method (M=19.08±0.74) have higher achievements compare with control class (M=12.91±2.52), and both are significantly different (tcalculation 22.85 > ttable 1.66). The effectivity of demostration method in experimental class (97%) is found higer compare to conventional method in control class (91%).
