Innovation in teaching materials used in online learning is very urgent based on students’ needs. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of contextual research-based teaching materials to improve students’ learning independence and concept mastery of acid-base solution properties. The research method is Research and Development, referring to Borg and Gall. The research subjects were 60 students and 7 science teachers who have used teaching materials based on contextual research findings. The data collection technique in this study is a test that aims to determine the concept mastery and a questionnaire to measure students’ learning independence. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the average percentage of student learning independence is 78% (Good category). Besides, an average value of 73.83 is obtained  with an N-Gain of 64% (Medium category). The use of contextual research-based teaching materials can increase learning independence in terms of information search and concept mastery of acid-base solution properties.

This School Action Research (PTS) aims to improve the ability of teachers to develop innovative lesson plans through academic supervision (individual scientific and technical supervision models) during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted in four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection, and was carried out in two cycles. The research subjects were 4 science teachers and 4 social studies teachers in my school, namely SMAN 1 Puloampel, Serang district, Banten province. The components of the innovative RPP assessment consist of formulating indicators, formulating learning steps (KBM), allocating time, determining learning resources, formulating teaching methods, and formulating assessments while the innovations that are expected in making the RPP are RPPs that can produce, combine, have added value, something new and answers problems and is integrated with Strengthening Character Education (PPK), oriented to HOTS or improving students' higher thinking skills and having 21st-century skills. In the first cycle, the researcher observed an increase in teacher competence in making innovative lesson plans. The results of observations of individual RPP assessments in the first cycle showed an average value of 68.4%. In the second cycle, the teacher's average value increased in making lesson plans, which was 77.6%. While the classical lesson plan completeness assessment from cycle I and cycle II showed a good average value of 73%. This proves that academic supervision can improve the ability of teachers in preparing innovative RPP (Learning Implementation Plans).

DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHING MATERIALS BASED ON CONCEPTUAL CHANGE TEXT ON REDOX MATERIALS FOR BASIC CHEMICALS ON REDOX CONCEPTAbstractThe problem in this study is that there are still many students who have difficulty learning basic chemical concepts and experience misconceptions. One way to overcome student difficulties in understanding the concept of chemistry is to provide quality learning media. This study aims to produce learning media in the form of quality teaching materials. The teaching materials developed are chemical teaching materials based on Conceptual Change Text (CCT). The research data were obtained from the results of validation of teaching materials from experts and the results of a questionnaire distributed to 30 students. This research was conducted using the R&D method with the research subjects being teaching materials and students. Based on the data generated in this study, it was found that the development of CCT-based teaching materials when viewed from the aspects of content feasibility, presentation feasibility, language assessment, multiple chemical representations assessed by some experts, it can be concluded that the teaching materials developed are good and suitable for use in the field with some improvements with an average validation value of 4. Besides, a limited test was also carried out on students of the teaching materials that were being developed and students responded well to the teaching materials because it could help them understand the average value of 85.

This study aims to describe the implementation of the small-scale chemistry approach in the practicum, as well as to show various Pre-service Science Teachers’ impressions. This research is action research involving 69 Pre-service Science Teachers (PSTs), 15 males and 54 females. Collecting data using documentation techniques at each stage of practicum activities, as well as reflection sheets. The results of the documentation are presented and analyzed using narrative descriptions, while the results of the reflections from the PSTs are coded and grouped into (1) the most memorable experiment, (2) positive impressions, and (3) negative impressions. The practicum covers five topics, namely (1) separation of the mixture (filtration), (2) reaction rate, (3) oxidation and reduction reactions (electrolysis), (4) heat transfer (calorimeter), and (5) acid-base solution. The practicum that gave the most impressive was the practicum on acid-base solutions (41.2%), while the one that got the least impressive was the practicum on calorimeters (4.4%). Many positive impressions that appear in practicum activities are “low-cost”, “colorful”, “easy to carry”, “hard to break”, “material savings”, and “more understandable”. The most negative impressions that appear in the series of implementation activities are “limited tools”, “too small-scale tools” and “inaccuracy”. The result of the teacher's reflection finally considers the impression of "limited tools", "material limitation", and "too simple" to be a consideration in developing further practicum activities with the SSC approach.
