The objectives of the study are: to compare the model of fisheries management with conventional versus new paradigm; to explore the prospect of new fisheries management model; to formulate the initial strategy of fisheries management model using EBFM. The ecosystem of Karimunjawa is selected as the pilot project of this research. The competent 25 keypersons were selected using purposive quoted sampling for interview. Descriptive statistics, meta-analysis and AHP were employed to analize the data. The results showed that the conventional fisheries management models were rather ineffective to answer the current situation of fisheries resource. We need facing out to find a suitable approach of fisheries management model. One of the proposed new paradigm is EBFM. This model indicates has a good prospect to manage the fisheries resource in the study area. This study suggests that EBFM model should be under-tried out. If it is acceptable, then the model can be implemented for other region.

The sustainability of marine ecosystem has become a major concern the government; however, the implementation of sustainability-based fisheries management has not been fully carried out and well controlled. Therefore, having a concept of ecosystem-based fisheries management (EBFM) is essential in protecting it preserved. The aim of this study was to analyze the implementation of EBFM in Karimunjawa ecosystem, Central Java, Indonesia. The analysis of this study was based on the primary data collected from fishermen and stakeholders using in-depth interviews, and the secondary data gathered from stakeholders of Karimunjawa documentation. Meta-analysis with triangulation was invoked in this study. The result showed that the vulnerability of marine ecosystem, particularly fisheries’ resource in the pilot project is in progress. The conventional approach has not yet succeeded in managing fisheries’ resource in terms of sustainability attributes. Moreover, the EBFM has not yet proven to be a suitable approach for some reasons; although, this concept is very promising in encouraging a new paradigm for sustainable management in Indonesia with a protocol concept. This initial finding needs to be furthered in order to explore other aspects of development.

The Schaefer-Gordon model of fisheries management does not adequately predict the state of stocks or the behavior of fishermen. In any scientific discourse, this should call the basic assumptions into question. I review the challenges to the model's biological assumptions and argue that its economic assumptions are also flawed. I review the approach developed by A.V. Chayanov for studying peasant economies in conjunction with comparative data on other fisheries and data from Mississippi Shrimpers to show that Chayanov's model characterizes the shrimpers of Mississippi. From the comparative and ethnographic data, I conclude that fishermen do not operate as firms. This further calls into question the adequacy of the current fisheries management model and raises the question of how and why such an inadequate model is perpetuated.

A meta-analysis of the literature on drug treatments for Alzheimer's disease revealed the following limitations in the dissemination of research findings: multiple publication of findings, failure to report basic descriptive statistics and failure to respond to written requests for additional information on the research. The possible reasons for these problems and remedies for them are discussed.

Purpose The author posits that the management model of an organization determines what kind of business models can be pursued within that organization and that successful 21st century management models are very different from those that succeeded in the 20th century. Design/methodology/approach The author compares and contrasts successful 21st century management models with models that succeeded in the 20th century. Findings Success in the digital age requires a 21st century management model and mindset based on an obsession with delivering value to customers. Practical implications The management model incorporates the key ‘written and unwritten rules’ of the firm. The success of digital innovation can be threatened by 20th Century management assumptions that thwart Agile initiatives. Originality/value Article explains how Agile mindsets and practices are essential to the 21st century management model, and how they potentiate the firm’s focus on creating customers.

Abstract Objectives To compare the major complications between leadless pacemaker (LP) and traditional pacemakers(TP).Background The TP shows some advantages in avoiding pocket- and lead-related complications over the TP and is increasingly used in clinical practice. However, the clinical effect of LP remains controversial. Methods PUBMED、EMBASE、The COCHRANE LIBRARY、CNKI and WANGFANG databases were searched from July 2013 to August 2018. Data concerning the study’s design, patients’ characteristics and outcomes were extracted. The primary end-point is the major complications. The second end-points are elevated pacing threshold, cardiac perforation/effusion, device dislodgement and vascular events. Results A total of 6 studies fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Only 4 of which can provide the data of major complications. The main complications of LP were statistically significantly decreased compared with that of TP(OR 0.41,95%CI:0.29-0.56,P<0.00001,I2=42%).We extracted the data of elevated pacing threshold, cardiac perforation/effusion, device dislodgement and vascular events in 4 other of these 6 studies. There was no significant difference in elevated pacing threshold (OR 0.95, 95%CI:0.24-3.70,P=0.94, I2=31%), cardiac perforation/effusion(OR 1.78,95%CI:0.33-9.58, P=0.50,I2=87%), vascular events (OR1.58, 95%CI:0.45-5.53, P=0.47,I2=47%) and device dislodgement(OR 0.22,95%CI:0.01-5.69,P=0.36,I2=81%) between LP and TP.Conclusion Compared with TP, LP showed a significantly decreased risk in major complications. This indicates that LP has a good prospect to be applicated in clinical practice.

This paper transfers and adapts the Black-Litterman portfolio management model and its subsequent generalizations to the characteristics and specificities of assets quoted on sports betting markets. The results show that these assets are suitable for the application of portfolio management models with the possible inclusion of investors’ opinions. Information based on the variability of market prices and the attention received by NBA teams in Google Trends is successfully used to simulate the opinions expressed by a hypothetical portfolio manager. Furthermore, the assets are suitable for inclusion in portfolios in which managers are seeking returns uncorrelated with other assets.

This contribution intends to present the design, methodology and first results of MEMEX, a 3-year project (2019-2022) funded by the European programme Horizon2020, aimed at promoting social cohesion through collaborative, heritage-related tools that provide inclusive access to tangible and intangible cultural heritage (CH) and, at the same time, facilitates encounters, discussions and interactions between communities at risk of social exclusion. Cultural participation is conceived as a way to engage communities in lifelong learning processes taking place in informal contexts, aiming at promoting social inclusion and cohesion. To achieve these goals, MEMEX uses innovative ICT tools that provide a new paradigm for interaction with heritage through Digital Storytelling (DS), weaving heritage-related memories and experiences of the participating communities with the physical places/objects that surround them. The project encompasses the ICT tools and the use of DS in the framework of Audience Development (AD), defined as a strategic and dynamic process enabling cultural organisations to place audiences at the centre of their action. The use of DS applied to CH is highly related to lifelong learning processes, since it provides knowledge, understanding, awareness, engagement and interest, enjoyment and creativity. The evaluation of a number of DS produced by migrant women participating in a MEMEX pilot project in Barcelona confirms the validity and soundness of the methodology and the power of DS to engage in cultural experiences.

The chapter provides historical development of archives and records management models. A records management model has been developed by scholars and institutions. The models were created to assist organizations to navigate, benchmark, and improve records management programs. They were also applied to implement records and archives management programs in most organizations. Nevertheless, achieving consensus on internationally agreed theories for the records and archives management theories was not an easy task and part of the reasons for this layer with different theoretical perspectives.

Under the analysis of the current situation and existing problems related to the spare-part distribution management of diesel engine industry, especially the incoordination between service stations and agents, the paper establishes a model featured as the multi-level warehouse, with a view of integrating the information of the whole chain and all levels of diesel engine industry from global warehouse, marketing and basic data, and effectively solving the problems regarding the distribution management of diesel engine industry. In the end of the paper, the implementation of the model in a case company is specified.
