The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students' mathematical communication and disposition abilities taught with discovery learning models. This study us quantitative approach with the type of experimental research and the research design us pretest and posttest design type experiments. The sample was chosen randomly from two classes of 7th grade in one of public junior high school in Sigli, Aceh. The research instrument used was mathematical communication ability test and mathematical disposition questionnaire. The data analysis of students' communication and disposition ability was done by two-way ANAVA test at a significant level of 0.05. The results showed that the improvement of students' mathematical communication and disposition skills taught with discovery learning models was better than those taught with conventional approaches. Furthermore, there was no interaction between discovery learning model and the level of students towards improving communication skills and mathematical dispositions. Therefore, the mathematics teachers can implement discovery learning models in learning to build the next polyhedron. Future researchers should conduct research at other schools in order to improve students' mathematical communication skills in mathematics learning

The study aims to determine whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students who learn discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. It also aims to find out whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and low initial abilities with discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with quantitative approach design and used was a randomized control group only design with treatment by blocks. The population in this study were students of class VII  Islamic private junior high school or MTsS Darussalam Ampiang Parak, Sutera Sub District, Pesisir Selatan. The research sample was randomly selected, namely students of class VII.1 as the experimental class and VII.2 as the control class. The research data were obtained from the results of the initial ability test and the final test given after the experiment was carried out. Data analysis using t test. The results of the analysis show that: 1) The mathematics learning outcomes of students with discovery learning model are better than those taught by conventional learning, 2) Mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and students with low initial abilities with discovery learning learning models of learning arebetter than students with high initial abilities. taught by conventionallearning. The results could be a solution for teachers to provide learning to develop students' ability invention, especially in the discovery of mathematical concepts and problem solving both in learning and in daily life

Mathematics is a very abstract lesson and is always connected with numbers and formulas. Many students feel unhappy about mathematics and find difficulties in solving problems in the form of tables, stories, and diagrams. Learning method that can help students in improving mathematical communication and mathematical dispositions can be done through the application of discovery learning models. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students' mathematical communication and disposition abilities taught with discovery learning models. This study useda quantitative approach with the type of experimental research and the research design usedtrue pretest and posttest design type experiments. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP N 2 Sigli. The sample was chosen randomly from two classes:classes VIII2 and VIII3. Furthermore, there wasno interaction between discovery learning model and the level of students towards improving communication skills and mathematical dispositions. Therefore, mathematics teachers in SMP N 2 Sigli who teach in class VIII can use discovery learning models in learning to build the next flat side space. Futureresearchers should conduct research at other schools in order to improve students' mathematical communication skills in mathematics learning.

This study aims to determine the level of communication skills and mathematical creative thinking of junior high school students through tests of straight-line equation questions, and analyze the difficulties of students in solving problems in the matter of straight-line equations. The population in the study were all eighth grade students of Pasundan 1 Junior High School 1 Cimahi with a sample of 9 students in class VIII I who were taken using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique that is by taking samples from each strata proportionally randomly with the provisions of each of the 3 high-ability students , 3 students with moderate ability and 3 low-ability students. The research data was collected through a test of mathematical communication skills based on the indicators of 4 essay questions. The results showed students' mathematical communication skills of 34.4% included in the less category, while for creative thinking ability was 41% including sufficient categories. Based on the answer analysis students have been able to identify elements that are known and asked and stated them in mathematical symbols, able to identify the links between elements / data that are known and asked, only students have not been able to complete mathematical models and determine relevant solutions. Based on the results of the average questionnaire shows that students' self-confidence in mathematics learning can be categorized as being. These results are directly proportional to the results of tests of low mathematical communication skills and creative thinking abilities that are categorized sufficient.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to describe things as follow. First, describes the writing skills of the exposition text of grade VIII Junior High School 31 Padang before using the discovery learning model. Secondly, describes the writing skills of the exposition text of grade VIII Junior High School 31 Padang after using the discovery learning model. Third, analyze the effect of discovery learning models on the exposition writing skills of grade VIII studensts of Junior High School 31 Padang. The type of this research is quantitative research using experimental methods Based on the results of the study, can be concluded three things as follows. First, the writing skills of the exposition text of  grade VIII students of Junior High School 31 Padang before using discovery learning model are in fair qualifications (61,59). Secondly, the writing skills of exposition text of grade VIII students of Junior High School 31 Padang after using discovery learning model are in good qualifications (78,26). Third, there is a significant influence in the use of discovery learning models on the exposition writing skills of grade VIII students of Junior High School 31 Padang, so it can be concluded that H1 is accepted in H0 is rejected because the test results prove that tcount is greater than ttable (2,04>1,70). Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Model Discovery Learning, Menulis Teks Eksposisi

This study aims to describe the effect of discovery learning model using sunflowers in circles on mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII Junior High School Number (SMPN) 1 Pagaralam. The methods used in this study is descriptive method quantitative pretest-posttest design with control group design. The population in this study is the entire class VIII students of Junior High School Number (SMPN) 1 Pagaralam that amounted to 270 students with samples at 60 students. Data collection was taken by way of documentation and test be reserved in the form of the essay. The test was analyzed by documentation photograph and statistician with compare data result class experiment and class control, with the significance level of 5%. The result found in the discovery learning approach using sunflowers give good effect the result of learning, this is average experiment class is better than with control class.
