This chapter looks at the Poultry Loan, a credit-to-savings intervention. Through an informational and promotional campaign, the researchers recruited fifty participants willing to try poultry farming and launched a pilot. At this stage the research did not include an impact evaluation but just sought to determine whether the model was operationally viable. Strictly speaking, this case is not a failure. It is actually a prime example of an appropriate pilot. That said, even the limited pilot offers failures worth discussing, all related to the research setting. First, at the front line of implementation, local financial services organization Sahastradhara KGFS's unexpectedly lengthy software update caused a timing problem. Second, the complexity of the intervention made it challenging to roll out all at once. The third lesson goes back to the beginning of the story, before Poultry Loans were even an idea.

Chapter 9 continues the investigation into the labor-capital balance of power, addressing the third of the three planes of struggle, that of institutional struggle. Focusing on the labor courts in a historical context, the chapter asserts that the courts are on the defensive, accused of being too “biased” in labor’s favor, as too “ideological” in contrast to the Finance Ministry’s “objective expertise”. It argues that attempts to limit the labor courts’ power act de facto to undermine collective labor relations. The labor courts, then, are on the front line of attempts to undermine organized labor by weakening the institutions and frameworks within which it operates.

THERMAL COMFORT AND POISER PERFORMANCE IN THE INITIAL PHASE (CRIA)   ABSTRACT: Considering the importance of thermal comfort in poultry farming in Brazil. The aim of this research was to evaluate the thermal comfort in the shed (pestle), located in a commercial farm in the municipality of Cuité - PB. The evaluation was performed based on the data of air temperature (ºC), relative humidity of the air (%), the black globe temperature for determination of the Black Globe Temperature and Humidity Index (ITGU). Weight gain on chicks and data collection were performed daily. The shed for the breeding phase of the Lohmann LSL line was used in the third week for bird development, evaluating the ITGU values and comparing to those indicated in the literature, we observed that it was possible to keep the thermal comfort bands very close to the recommended one, and the weight gain remained distant to that indicated by the lineage manual, the animals submitted to adverse thermal conditions showed less weight gain.   Keywords: ambience, thermal comfort, weight gain.

The phenomenon of Group of Russian poets and fiction writers of the early XXth century, merged by literary critics under the title «new-peasant poets », is seemingly enough researched. However, when there is a serious knowledge of the creative heritage of the two most famous new-peasant poets – Sergei Yesenin and Nikolai Klyuev – heritage (especially prose) of the third significant poet of this circle, Sergei Klychkov, is still poorly studied. The focus of this article is the first part of a trilogy («Sugar German», «Chertuhinskij Balakir» and «Prince of Peace»), roman of S.A. Klytchkov «Sugar German», where most unpopular for this theme post-revolutionary years author undertakes to explore the issue of Holiness. For artistic research of the topic Klytchkov uses not only all the accumulated before him «resources» of the classical Russian literature (primarily heritage of N.S. Leskov), but also his own front-line experience and experience of Russian sectarianism (old believers of different leanings and concerts), a peculiar fad that is going through all Russian intellectuals in the pre-war and prerevolutionary years (correspondence with N.A. Kljuev, block shape of Grigory Rasputin, «Walking to Castle Kitezh» by S.A. Klytchkov himself, etc.). The task of author of this article is to find and describe the exceptional artistic means («double effect» and «double-lighting»), which the writer uses to achieve the necessary objectivity in narration. The article uses characteristics of prose made by writer's contemporaries (A.M.Gorky, A.K. Voronski, P.A. Zhurov), studies of creativity of S.A. Klychkov that became classic now (N.M. Solncev, M. Nikjo), theoretical works on the Russian and world literature and art of M.M. Bakhtin, V. Kozhinov, Ortega Y Gasset, and T. Mann, as well as works on the theory of literature of 2001–2019 years by S.A. Nebolsin, V.V. Fedorov, I.A. Esaulov.

Significance The fall highlights the economic impact of the second lockdown; the third, from mid-December, will cause GDP to fall in the first quarter of 2021. The accommodation and food services sector, and some parts of the retail sector, will be hardest hit. Impacts The regionally disjointed recovery and fiscal pressures will make it harder for the government to pursue its ‘levelling up’ agenda. Post-COVID-19 behaviour will help adjust the balance between towns and cities but the pandemic will also weaken the sectors towns rely on. The central bank's review of negative interest-rates confirms that it is reluctant to cut rates but will do so if the downturn deepens.

Martin Niemöller’s apologetic interventions from the late 1920s to the early 1950s reveal a complicated trajectory. He stood at the front line of the Protestant struggle against aggressive secularism in Weimar Germany. After the Nazis seized power in 1933, Niemöller quickly emerged as the figurehead of attempts to defend the dogmatic integrity of the Protestant churches, yet also maintained the conversation with the German Christians in a common front against the ‘godless’ Bolsheviks and Freethinkers. After he had seriously contemplated converting to the Roman Catholic Church from 1939 to early 1941, he returned to a combative assertion of his Protestant identity vis-à-vis the Catholics in the early Federal Republic. Overall, the chapter argues that the dynamics of the religious field during the Third Reich are best understood as an intensification.

This article enquires into how parenting support, as concept, policy and provision, has penetrated the English social policy landscape, and critically considers why it has proved so popular with policy makers. It first outlines the existing policy configuration. The second section identifies some key factors precipitating the roll-out of parenting support and the third section takes an overview of the significance of the developments from a social and family policy perspective. The argument advanced is that the growth and expansion of parenting support is explained by a coming together of a set of political exigencies around ‘risk’ and the healthy child, and a set of policy ‘solutions’ which are seen to have high promise. In particular, parenting support has the advantage of being relatively easily generalisable (especially in the form of programmes) and aligns with several current developments of the welfare state, towards activation, provision of support through services and an interest in localism.
