ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is three. First, it describes the reading comprehension skills of the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. Second, describe the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehension text description with the description writing skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive methods. The design used in this study is a corelasinoal design. The population of this research is class VII students of Padang Panjang State Junior High School registered in the 2018/2019 school year, which is 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, that is 48 students. The data of this study were in the form of scores on the reading comprehension test scores of the description text description and the scores on the writing of the description text skills. The data was obtained through two types of tests namely objective tests to measure reading comprehension text skills and performance tests to measure description text writing skills. Based on data analysis and discussion, three research results are obtained as follows. First, reading comprehension text skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of an average of 81.35. Second, the description writing skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of an average of 77.15. Third, there is a significant relationship between reading comprehension text description skills and description writing skills for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between reading comprehension and description text writing skills with the description text of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang Panjang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%. So, it was concluded that the higher the reading comprehension skills of students 'description texts, the higher the students' writing description text skills. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan                    Menulis, Teks Deskripsi, Korelasi

ABSTRACT This article reveals the correlation of reading comprehension skills with writing skills of explanatory texts grade students XI SMA Negeri Padang 14. There are three purposes of this study. First, to describe the reading comprehension skills of class XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang. Second, to describe the explanatory text writing skills of class XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang . Third, to describe the correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills in class XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design used in this study is correlation design. The population of this study is was XI SMA Negeri 14 who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, which was 273 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population which is 40 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the result of explanatory writing skills. The istrument of this study is an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure explanatory writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the reading comprehension skills of students XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang are in good qualification (B). Second, explanatory text writing skills of students  XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang are in good qualification (B). Third, reading comprehension skills have a significant correlation with explanatory text writing skills of the eleventh grade students XI SMA Negeri 14 Padang of  at 76%, while remaining 24% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Kata kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis, Teks Eksplanasi

Second, describe the reading comprehension skills of the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Third, analyze the correlation between reading comprehension and description text skills with the writing skills of the VII grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The design (design) in this study is correlational. By using simple random sampling technique, the sample in this study amounted to 48 students. The research instrument was an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure description writing skills. The conclusion of this research is thirteen. First, the description writing skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang are in good qualifications. Second, reading comprehension text skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang are in good qualifications. Third, there is a significant relationship between reading comprehension text description skills and writing text description of students in grade VII of SMP Negeri 25 Padang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%. ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is to describe the reading skills of students' news text comprehension, Second, to describe the skills of writing news texts of students, third, to describe the correlation of reading comprehension of news texts with news writing skills of students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 9 Padang. The population of this research is VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Padang in the 2019/2020 school year, which is 245 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling 25% of 49 students. The research data scores the results of reading text comprehension test scores and the scores of news text writing skills scores. The research instrument is an objective test for reading text comprehension skills and performance tests for news text writing skills. Research Results First, the reading skills of understanding the news text of good qualifying students (B). Second, the skills of writing news texts of good qualifying students (B). Third, there is a correlation between reading comprehension and news writing skills with news writing skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Padang with degrees of freedom n-1 at 95% confidence level. T value (5.55) is greater than t table (1.68), i.e. titung> ttabel (5.55> 1.68) thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that tcount is greater than t table. It can be concluded that reading text comprehension skills are correlated with news text writing skills. Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Membaca Pemahaman, Teks Berita

ABSTRACT Research purposes. First, describe students' reading comprehension skills. Second, describe the skills of writing Description text. Third, describe the correlation between reading comprehension skills and text writing skills Description of Grade VII students of the UNP Laboratory Development Middle School. This type of quantitative research is a correlational method. The study design was correlational two variables. The research population of VII grade students of SMP UNP Laboratory Development registered in the academic year 2019/2020 total 142 students in five classes. The sample in the study was 37 people. Samples were taken by simple 25% random technique using proportional random sampling technique. The research instruments were performance tests, description writing text tests and objective reading comprehension skills tests. Conclusion. First, students' reading comprehension skills are in good qualifications (78.98). Second, the students' written text description skills are in good qualifications (83,12). Third, reading comprehension skills correlate with text writing skills Description of VII graders of SMP UNP Laboratory Development with degrees of freedom n-2 at 95% confidence level. T value is greater than t table that is 2.637> 1.68, thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that t count is greater than t table. the conclusion "There is a correlation between reading comprehension skills and writing skills text. Description of Grade VII students of SMP UNP Laboratory Development" was accepted. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe comprehension reading skills. Second, describe explanatory text writing skills. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this study is correlational design. The study population was registered in 2018/2019, which is 287 students. The research sample was proportional random sampling of 20% of the population of 57 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the results of comprehension reading skills tests and scores on the results of explanatory text writing skills. The instrument of this study was an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, reading comprehension skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Second, explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Third, there is a correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills with n-1 freedom degrees at the 95% confidence level. The value of tcount (38.54) is greater than t table (1.66) that is tcount> ttable (38.54> 1.68) thus H0 is rejected and H1. Based on the results of these studies it was concluded that reading comprehension skills correlated with explanatory text writing skills.  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksplanasi.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to describe the following matters. First, it describes the reading skills of students in class VII of SMP Negeri 31 Padang. Secondly, it describes the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 31 Padang. Third, explaining the relationship between reading comprehension skills and description writing skills for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 31 Padang. The population of this research is VII grade students of SMP Negeri 31 Padang who are enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year with 256 students spread in eight classes. The sample in this study amounted to 48 people. Samples were taken using a simple random technique with a proportion of 20% using a proportional random sampling technique. Based on the results of the study, the following three things were concluded. First, the reading skills of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 31 Padang meet good qualifications. This is calculated based on an average count of 81.80. Second, the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 31 Padang in accordance with qualifications is more than enough. This can be seen from the average description text written test of 79.51. Third, a significant discussion between reading comprehension skills and description writing skills of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 31 Padang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%. ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, it describes the skills of reading comprehension text story fantasy grade VII SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. Second, describing a fantasy story text writing skills grade VII SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. Third, describe the contribution of the reading comprehension skills of fantasy with story text write text stories fantasy grade VII SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. This research type is quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this research is the design contribution. This research population is grade VII SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP are registered on the 2018/2019 school year, that is, 85 students. The sample in this research is determined using the purposive sampling of the population, i.e., 59 students. Research data is a score test results intermediate reading comprehension text story fantasy and score the writing skills test result text story fantasy. Research instrument is an objective test to measure the skills of reading comprehension text story fantasy and performance tests to measure the writing skills text story fantasy. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of writing fantasy stories text grade VII SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP are on more than enough qualifications (LdC). Second, the skills of reading comprehension text story fantasy grade VII SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP are on more than enough qualifications (LdC). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the reading comprehension skills of the descriptive text and the writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol. This research used quantitative research using a descriptive correlational design. In this study, there were two variables, namely the X variable and the Y variable. The X variable was the reading comprehension skill, while the Y variable was the description text writing skill. The research instruments were objective tests and performance tests. The data of this study are the results of the reading comprehension skills test and the results of the descriptive text writing skills test. The test results were compared using the t-test formula to determine the correlation between the reading comprehension skills and the descriptive text writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol. There are three results in this study. First, the reading skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol are in good qualifications with an average score of 81.65. Second, the writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol are in good qualifications with an average score of 78.58. Third, based on the results of the t-test, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between comprehension reading skills and the descriptive text writing skills of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol.

First, reading comprehension skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang are in good qualifications. This was concluded based on an average count of 81.13. Second, the writing skills of news texts for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang are in good qualifications. This can be seen from the acquisition of the average news text writing test count of 81.25. Third, there is a significant correlation between reading comprehension skills and news writing skills of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang at n-1 degrees of freedom and a significant level of 95%.  The null hypothesis is rejected and the work hypothesis is accepted because the test result prove the t value is greater than t table 3.81 > 1.68. Based on the result of the study above, it was concluded about the knowledge of reading skills in reading news texts of eight grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang.Kata Kunci: korelasi, membaca pemahaman, menulis teks berita

ABSTRACTThis study revealed the contribution of reading comprehension skills toward writing skill related to the description texts of that made by grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The purpose of this study was categorized into three-part. First, to describe the writing skills of the description text of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Second, to describe the reading skills of students in grade VII of SMP Negeri 7 Padang.. Third, to describe the contribution of reading comprehension skill to the writing skill of the description texts of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. This type of study was quantitative with descriptive methods. The design used in this study was the contribution design. The population of this study was students of class VII SMP Negeri 7 Padang in the 2018/2019 academic year about 251 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling 15% of the population that was 40 students. The data of this study were in the form of scores on reading comprehension skill test scores and scores on writing description text skill. The data were obtained through two types of tests namely objective tests to measure the comprehension of reading skill and performance tests to measure description text writing skill. There were three results of this study. First, the description writing skill of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang was in good qualifications (B) with an average of 76.80. Second, reading comprehension skill of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang was in good qualifications (B) with an average of 82.50. Third, there was a contribution to reading comprehension text skill on the ability to write description texts of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang with percentage 42, 51%. Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis, Teks Deskripsi
