The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the reading comprehension skills of the descriptive text and the writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol. This research used quantitative research using a descriptive correlational design. In this study, there were two variables, namely the X variable and the Y variable. The X variable was the reading comprehension skill, while the Y variable was the description text writing skill. The research instruments were objective tests and performance tests. The data of this study are the results of the reading comprehension skills test and the results of the descriptive text writing skills test. The test results were compared using the t-test formula to determine the correlation between the reading comprehension skills and the descriptive text writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol. There are three results in this study. First, the reading skills of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol are in good qualifications with an average score of 81.65. Second, the writing skills of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol are in good qualifications with an average score of 78.58. Third, based on the results of the t-test, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between comprehension reading skills and the descriptive text writing skills of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bonjol.

The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of the process and the results of the ability to write fables using the example non example learning model for grade VII.3 students of SMP Negeri Muara Beliti for the 2018/2019 academic year. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. The data collection methods used were the observation method and the fable writing assignment test method. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, descriptive presentation (narrative, visual images, tables) with a systematic and logical flow of presentation, and the conclusion of the results presented based on indicators of research success. The results showed that the example non example learning model could improve the quality of the process and the results of learning to write fables for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri Muara Beliti in the 2018/2019 academic year. This is evidenced by the increase in teacher activity in cycle I reaching 65.3%, increasing to 94.4% in cycle II. In the first cycle, student learning activities, namely 71.9%, increased to 81.3% in the second cycle.

Research objectives know the poetry writing skills of first-grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Bengkulu city. This research uses descriptive methods with quantitative approaches. The population in this study was all first-grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Bengkulu city with 425 students in total. Samples in this study used simple random sampling as much as 15% of 63 population. Data collection technique is a documentation technique with test result of writing student poems that have become documents archived by the teacher. The ability to write poetry is judged on five aspects, namely the accuracy of the content with the title, the choice of words, the use of majas and symbolism, the utilization of verification (rhyme and rhythm), and typography. The data analysis technique used is a simple statistic by calculating the average value. The results of this study showed that the average ability in write poetry first-grade students SMA Negeri 7 Bengkulu city is 58.30 with enough category. The average ability to write student poems based on the accuracy aspect of the content and title is 16.33 with good categories, the average ability to write student poems based on the aspect of word choice is 14.20 with enough categories, the average ability to write student poems based on aspects of majas use and symbolism is 10.63 with enough categories, the average ability to write student poetry based on aspects of verification utilization (rhyme and rhythm) is 9.40 with enough category , the average ability to write student poetry based on typographic aspects is 7.87 with enough categories.

The purpose of this study was to describe the psychological conflicts contained in the novel Arini Masih Ada Kereta yang Lewat by Mira W. The research method used is descriptive method. The data source in the study was the novel Arini Masih Ada Kereta yang Lewat by Mira W. consisting of 232 pages, a book thickness of 20 cm, published in 2018 by PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama. The collection technique uses literature study techniques, reading techniques, and note taking techniques. While the data analysis technique used content analysis techniques. Based on the research results, it shows that the psychological conflicts built in the novel Arini Masih Ada Kereta yang Lewat by Mira W are in the form of internal conflict and external conflict. Internal conflict, namely the main character Arini felt a raging feeling shortly after the feeling of happiness when she saw the baby she had given birth to. Then, the external conflict, namely the character Arini knows a reality that Helmi said, such as a slap for Arini, a child who he thought had died was still alive and Helmi who took care of him.

The purpose of this study was to describe the competence of Indonesian language teachers in Indonesian language learning at SMP Negeri Simpang Kosgoro, Muasi Rawas Regency. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The collection technique uses observation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique was carried out by data reduction, data classification, data interpretation, and conclusions. Wetness test data using membercheck. The results showed that the performance competence of Indonesian civil servant teachers in the National Education Office of Musi Rawas Regency from pegagogical competence, personality competence, social competence, and professional competence, especially in SMP Negeri Simpang Kosgoro showed that it had reached a value range of 75-100 with value 4 in the very good category.

The purpose of this study was to explain the ability of grade V students of SD Negeri 6 OKU in summarizing discourse using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The techniques used are observation and test techniques. The results showed that the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 6 OKU were able to summarize discourse using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model. This is evidenced by the average value of the students' ability in summarizing discourse using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model which is 63.83% which is in accordance with the assessment indicators which are classified as sufficient. In detail, the results of this study are: suitability of the summary content is 56% (sufficient), accuracy of themes is 60.66% (sufficient), suitability of word counts is 90.66% (very good), and mechanics is 48% (poor). In addition, the results of observations in this study indicate that the teacher delivers material summarizing discourse that can be understood by students through the application of the CIRC learning model which is well done and easy to understand.

The purpose of this research was to describe the grammatical and lexical aspects in the lyrics of the song Jangan Rubah Takdirku by Andmesh Kamelang. The research method uses microstructural methods. The collection technique uses documentation techniques by downloading the song Jangan Rubah Takdirku via Youtube. The main instrument in this research is the researcher who is assisted by a device. Data analysis techniques by means of data reduction, data tabulation, data display, interpretation, and conclusions. Test the validity of the data using membercheck and validation from literary experts. The results showed that the grammatical and lexical aspects in the lyrics of the song Jangan Rubah Takdirku, sung by Andmesh Kamelang, present a deep meaning about the life journey of a person who is full of hard work, loyalty, and hope of love for someone he loves. Grammatical aspects and lexical aspects build up each other so that the song Jangan Rubah Takdirku becomes a song that impresses the listeners. The grammatical aspect found in the song is referencing marked by the presence of the word dia and impingement by the presence of each word. Then, the lexical aspect that was found was repetition which was marked by the presence of the words I want, in each, and I did not, and synomini was marked by the presence of the words weak and shaky.

The purpose of this research was to describe the assertive, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative illocutionary speech acts on the December 2018 Mata Najwa talk show program. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques using documentation techniques obtained from the Mata Najwa video program December 2018 edition taken using a handphone. Data analysis techniques are done by reducing data, presenting data, interpreting data, and conclusions. Test the validity of the data by validating pragmatic experts and member checks. The type of illocutionary speech acts in the Mata Najwa talk show program mostly use expressive speech acts that contain congratulations, thanks, praise, and criticism. Assertive speech acts aim to say, report, and mention. The directive speech acts contain speech of asking, asking, demanding, suggesting, and opposing. Commissive speech acts contain speech promising, swearing, and threatening. Then, declarative speech acts contain speech deciding, canceling, prohibiting, permitting, and forgiving. From the results of this study, it shows that in making talk show programs it is better to use variations in illocutionary speech acts and the most dominant percentage of their use should use expressive speech acts so that events are more interesting.

The ability to write student official letters is predicted to be influenced by an initial understanding of the material of the correspondence. For this reason, this study aims to: (1) find out the understanding of correspondence for Grade VII students of OKU 9 Public Middle School, (2) to determine the ability to write official letters for VII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 OKU, and (3) to find out the relationship between understanding of correspondence to the ability of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 9 OKU to write official letters. The method used in this research is correlation method. The data collection technique used is a test. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis techniques. Test results Based on the calculation of the correlation between the test data understanding correspondence with the ability to write official letter VII grade students of SMP Negeri 9 OKU obtained the value of r product moment at a significant level of 5% of 0.381 with rxy of 0.987. When compared to r arithmetic (rxy), then rxy is greater r product moment. That is, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the understanding of correspondence with the ability to write official letters for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 9 OKU.

The purpose of this study was to describe (1) increasing the ability to write persuasion text with the modeling techniques of eighth grade students of SMPN L. Sidoharjo, Musi Rawas Regency and (2) Increasing student learning activities in writing persuasive text with modeling techniques for VIII students of SMPN L. Sidoharjo, Musi Regency Rawas. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) procedures. This research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle is designed and carried out by steps (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The source of the data of this study was the eighth grade students of SMP N L. Sidoharjo in the 2018/2019 academic year, while the research data were in the form of persuasion texts written by students. Then the data is analyzed using the average formula and the results are consulted in the qualification table. The results showed that the ability to write persuasion texts students experienced an average increase in cycle 1 of 67.98 which included in the category of enough, increased to 77, 76 in the second cycle included in the good category. The increase was also followed by an increase in student activity in learning to write persuasion texts which included activeness and direct involvement in observing, answering questions and writing persuasion texts from moderately active to active.
