Objective of the study: the purpose of the research, based on the example of a specific clinical case, is to draw the attention of specialists to a specific approach to the diagnosis and treatment of the inguinal hernia with atypical contents. A rare, unpublished in the Slovak Republic, observation of the left-sided scrotum hernia with dual ureter herniation in combination with congenital kidney pathology in a 3-month-old boy is presented. The diagnosis was based on physical examination, ultrasound examination, radiography, scintigraphy, and urethrocystoscopy. This anomaly has been successfully corrected through several successive phases of the operation. Conclusion: the combination of scrotal hernia and congenital renal anomaly may indirectly indicate a possible hernia in the distal part of the ureter and requires a thorough examination, including additional imaging methods.

Summary Tetralogy of Fallot is the most common cyanogenic congenital heart defect. The diagnosis is based on clinical signs, ECG examination, ultrasound examination of the heart, additional imaging methods and invasive testing. The therapeutic approach to the patient with tetralogy is complex and based on conservative and radical methods. Patients who have not undergone a radical surgical intervention have a poor prognosis, whereas the prognosis is much better for patients who have been operated. The most common complication of the surgical treatment is the pulmonary valve insufficiency which usually requires reintervention, as was the case with our patient.

A 15 years young fair girl presented with primary amenorrhoea. Findings on her physical examination included short stature, cubitus valgus, slightly webbed neck, absent of secondary sexual characters, broad chest with widely spaced nipples and absence of pubic & axillary hair. Except for the above, her systemic examination was unremarkable. A gynecological examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Ultrasound examination of abdomen revealed absent uterus and ovaries. Serum T3, T4 were within normal level, but TSH level was in slightly raised. Plasma FSH & LH were high with low estradiol level suggestive of hypergonadotrophic hypogonadism. Karyotyping confirmed the diagnosis of Turner ’s syndrome (45, X0). TAJ 2010; 23(1): 91-94

Abstract Objective: To analyse the prevalence and independent risk factors of varicocele in the soldiers population. Methods: The results of ultrasound examination and clinical physical examination in military outpatient clinic were collected and analysed in our hospital between July 2019 and July 2020. The results were compared with ordinary outpatient patients. Results: Finally, 1169 military patients and 818 general outpatients were included in this study. Totally 225 military cases (19.24%) and 119 outpatient cases (14.55%) developed varicocele. The incidence of varicocele in the military group was higher than that of the outpatients (P<0.05). The number of bilateral and single right varicocele in the two groups were 29, 14 and 13, 7, respectively. Military men were younger and had smaller testicular volumes than ordinary people (P<0.05). The analysis of the military population revealed that reduced left testicular volumes (P=0.000, OR=0.896), increased right testicular volumes (P=0.033, OR=1.052) and the disappearance of fluid around testicular (P=0.007, OR=0.505) were independent risk factors for varicocele. There was no correlation between testicular volume, age and the diameter of spermatic vein (P>0.05).Conclusions: The incidence of varicocele in the military population was 19.24%, and the rate was higher than ordinary patients. Reduced left testicular volumes, increased right testicular volumes and the testicular hydrocele disappears were independent risk factors.

Present the case of a 66-year-old male patient, with a history of right inguinal hernia, who was referred to the emergency room at the IESS de Chone Basic Hospital in the north of the Manabí province, Ecuador, with symptoms of Abdominal pain of more than 24 hours of evolution located in the right iliac fossa and inguinal region on the same side, in the physical examination the hernia was impossible to reduce, so he was taken to the operating room, in the intervention the cecal appendix was found swollen within the hernial sac, a condition known as Amyand's hernia.

Primary biliary tract neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are extremely rare tumors that account for 0.2-2% of all gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumors. The typical presentation is with jaundice and other symptoms related to biliary obstruction. We present a case of right hepatic duct NET in a 27-year-old female patient, asymptomatic, presented for a routine ultrasound examination that revealed moderate dilatation of the intrahepatic biliary ducts and a 20 mm hyperechoic lesion in the right hepatic biliary duct. Additional imaging was performed with the presumptive diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma. After surgery, the histopathological and immunohistochemical report was conclusive for the diagnosis of G2 well-differentiated NET

Tumours and tumorous lesions of head and neck account for 10% of all oncological pathologies. Branhyogenic cancer is found in 4.5% of patients with lateral cysts in the neck. The article highlights the results of research the clinical case of branhyogenic cancer, provide its clinical and morphological analysis. The aim of our work was to study the clinical case of bronchial cancer, providing clinical and pathomorphological analysis. Examination and treatment was conducted in accordance with the clinical protocol using the diagnostic criteria necessary for management of patients diagnosed with tumours and tumorous lesions in a particular clinical case. We applied ultrasound examination of the locus, angiography of head and neck vessels with tomohexol and with 3D reconstruction, histological examination of surgical specimens (macroscopy and microscopy). On the basis of clinical investigaton, ultrasound examination, angiography clinical diagnosis was formulated – lateral cyst on the left side of the neck. A radical surgical removal of the mass was conducted. Histopathological conclusion: there is a proliferation of cystic transitional cell epithelium with the locus of invasive squamous cell carcinoma in the cystic wall that suggests malignant transformation of bronchogenic cyst. Final diagnosis: branhyogenic cancer. Thorough examination and analysis of a clinical case demonstrates that the development of branhyogenic cancer, is histo-genetically associated with lateral cysts in the neck. Complexity of diagnosing and high percentage of malignancy induces to more early discovery and removal of lateral cysts in the neck .

The most common testicular neoplasms in dogs are seminoma, leydigocytoma and sertolioma, affecting middle--aged and elderly dogs, where cryptorchidism is a predisposing factor, as well as some breeds. It can occur alone or, less fren-quently, concurrently, generally affecting the same testicle. This study aimed to report the case of a non-cryptorchid 14-year--old mixed breed dog diagnosed with seminoma and sertolioma, each in a testicle. The animal showed an increase in scrotal volume, with no changes in other clinical parameters on physical examination. On ultrasound examination, it was possible to observe alterations suggestive of neoplasia in both testicles and prostatic alteration suggestive of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Complementary blood count and biochemical tests were performed and, as treatment, orchiectomy was performed. Fragments were collected from both testicles and sent for histopathological examination. Microscopy of the left testicle showed the presence of round cells, multiple and evident nucleoli, cells in different phases of mitosis and binucleation, these changes being compa-tible with seminoma. In contrast, in the right testicle, spindle and elongated cells (pseudo-lobular) were observed, presence of long cytoplasmic projections with rounded ovoid nucleus, spindle cells and degeneration of seminiferous tubules, compatible with sertolioma. It was observed that physical examination associated with ultrasound was efficient to detect the presence of neoplasms, being validated by histopathological examination. Orchiectomy was an assertive treatment indicated for this case.
