ABSTRACT  The focus of this research is to understand the possibility of changes in the behavior of consumer demand for products in traditional markets, whether caused by internal and external factors. Traditional markets tend to focus on fresh agricultural products (perishable goods), daily and low quality durable goods, while the more modern market focus on  the product packaging factory. In fact the growing type of manufacturing product, less accomodated in the traditional market. Conveniences and other factors are the important key of appeal of the traditional market. If proportion of such as consumers are greater, the the traditional market would experience faster transition into smaller markets and increasing incompetitiveness. Existence of change in traditional markets is a natural, associated  with  the  diversification  and  differention  of  product,  consumera  levvel  of  income, technology, education, land use and changes in consumers lifestyles. Keywords: consumer preference, agricultural products, conveniece market   DINAMIKA BISNIS PADA PASAR TRADISIONAL DARI SISI PERMINTAAN KONSUMEN DENGAN PENDEKATAN DEMAN PREFERENCE ABSTRAK  Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah berupaya memahami kemungkinan perubahan perilaku permintaan konsumen terhadap produk yang ada pada pasar tradisional, baik yang disebabkan oleh faktor internal maupun eksternal yang mempengaruhinya. Pasar tradisional cenderung fokus pada produk pertanian segar (perishable goods) dan sedikit barang tahan lama kualitas biasa hingga rendah, sedangkan pasar modern lebih pada produk kemasan pabrik. Secara faktual jenis produk pabrikan yang semakin berkembang,  kurang terakomodasi  di  pasar tradisional. Kenyamanan  dan ketertiban adalah  kunci penting bagi daya tarik pasar tradisional. Bila proporsi yang tidak sesuai preferensinya semakin besar, maka pasar tradisional akan mengalami transisi lebih cepat menjadi pasar sub masyarakat tertentu saja dan semakin tidak kompetitif. Eksistensi pasar tradisional yang mengalami perubahan adalah hal alamiah, terkait dengan perkembangan diversifikasi dan diferensiasi produk, tingkat pendapatan, teknologi, tingkat pendidikan, perubahan tata guna lahan dan perubahan dalam pola hidup konsumen.  Kata kunci: preferensi konsumen, produk segara pertanian, kenyamanan pasar.

The presence of modern market in Bengkulu city indirectly affects the shopping pattern of Bengkulu city community which in turn will affect the performance of traders in traditional markets. This research is conducted to investigate the impact of modern market presence on the traditional market with parameter observed including the turnover amount of merchants, merchandise turnover, number of traders, number of trader hours, profit margins of traditional traders in Bengkulu city before and after the establishment of a modern market. The population in this study are oil, sugar and durable goods traders and fruit traders in traditional markets, which are still actively trading before and after the establishment of modern traditional markets. Twenty fife durable good traders and 15 fruit traders are selected randomly. Data is analyzed using Paired t-test method. The results show that there are differences in turnover, opening hours, and profit margins of traditional traders in Bengkulu city before and after the establishment of a modern market. Suggestion in this research is to enforcediscipline and control of officer routinely to the illegal traders not to trade along the road and sidewalk.Keywords: impact, turnover, opening hours, profit margins

This study aims to determine the direction, obstacles and the best models in the legal protection of Traditional Markets in Bogor. The local government has implemented several programs such as modernization and markets building systems of Modern Stores also published Regulation No. 11 Year 2012 about structuring and development of Traditional Markets. The program wasn’t appropriate in the view of modernization market bulding  as well as local regulations put Traditional Market in hard position as well as the rent price isn’t affordable  for small traders and it can erode the local wisdom, it seems like suspending the failure of traditional market. The study concluded that the legal protection for both traditional market today is a model of traditional market-based that not only develops Traditional Market physically, but also can protect the local wisdom, values or cultural norms in Traditional Markets and lead Traditional Market as a place for the Farmers and local SMEs to display agricultural products, so that the traditional market can be a venue for sightseeing and socializing as well as supporting the development of Farmers and local SMEs and do not intersect with Modern Store.

This study aims to: (1) Analyze consumers' assessment of traditional markets on the policy to revitalize traditional markets in the city of Banjarmasin, (2) Determine the assessment of the management and traders of traditional markets afterthe revitalization policies are conducted by the Government of Banjarmasin, (3) Identify the internal and external factors affecting the traditional markets in an effort to improve the competitiveness of traditional markets in the city of Banjarmasin, (4) To formulate the strategy options for improving the competitiveness of traditional markets in the city of Banjarmasin, (5) To formulate strategic priorities in an effort to improve the competitiveness of traditional markets in Banjarmasin.The results show that: (1) the performance of traditional markets in the city of Banjarmasin because the revitalization policy is not optimal; this is proven by the consumers' assessment of the marketing mix variables (marketing mix) 7P which is still low on some attributes, such as product quality factors, promotional products market traditional, traditional market traders and service, (2) the traditional-market revitalization in Banjarmasin is not optimum because it is still limited to procedural and has not touchedthe substantive aspects concerning the increased competitiveness of traditional markets, (3) the priority strategy to enhance the competitiveness of traditional markets are (a) optimizing the arrangement of traders with neat and orderly zoning systems (clusters); (b) optimizing the publication and promotional traditional-market activities post revitalization policies; (c) establishing cooperation with universities through R & D (Research and Development) of traditional markets.It is suggested that revitalization of traditional markets in the city of Banjarmasin must be comprehensive, focusing on the aspects of business management of professionalmarketing and empowerment of traditional market traders

The type of qualitative research through phenomenology approach, the results showed Traders in the traditional market that became the main distribution channel of Indonesian people's agricultural products, currently has not been able to compete with the traders in the modern market. Though not a few people who rely their lives on traders in traditional markets. When hit by the economic crisis, traders in traditional markets are able to support the lives of most Indonesians, both traders and farmers who are only able to market their agricultural products through this market. With the rapid presence of traders in the traditional market impact on the local suppliers who generally cannot go to large retailers.

This study about shopping behavior changes from traditional markets to modern market in the  Manado city is viewed from the aspect of sociology. This study used a qualitative approach. The results showed that the shopping behavior of most citizens of Manado city has changed shopping habits in traditional markets into shopping habits in the modern market. Everyone in the economic measures based on efficiency considerations that revolve around efficiency of money and space also efficiency of time and energy. Before someone decides to shop, his views always consider the fourth aspect of it, and then decided to act. Thus the action is determined by the orientation to the person's environment that is tailored to the needs inherent in him. Then someone can act as he wishes. Most citizens of Manado city construct behavior of shopping habits in traditional markets into shopping habits in the modern market. The peoples leaving the characteristics of cooperation and confidence in social economy action trough activity in the traditional market began to fade, tend to behave consumerist, individualistic, laden competition, but innovation and creative. The pattern of this kind of action can be a collective action at the subjective macro level. This means that changes in individual behavior of Manado city residents at a certain level in line with the rapid development and progress of science and technology, will have implications on fundamental social changes in the structure of social behavior overall Manado city residents. Manado, will become a city inhabited by modern society with a consumption-oriented economic measures or commonly known as the consumerist society.

The term, 'inang-inang pasar' is referred to Bataknese market female vendors who sell basic commodities in the traditional urban markets. They have the image of hard working and tough vendors who fight against poverty in towns. Their activities as vendors in traditional markets indicate their strategic role of women as the agents of economic resilience and the agents of health security in their families. Here, their toughness in supporting their families by being vendors at Sembada traditional market, Medan. However, their toughness becomes a dilemma caused by Covid-19 pandemic. In this case, the government implement prokes (health protocol) from 3Ms to 5 Ms (wearing masks, washing hands, doing social distancing, avoiding crowd, and staying home), including in the area of the traditional markets where they sell their merchandise. The Prokes of Covid-19 in traditional markets have caused various responses from them. The reality is that they have not been ready to practice the policy on this 5 M Prokes since most of them lack of awareness of adhering to it due to the vulnerable of their health habitus. It seems that they can become the carriers and local transmitters of Covid-19. This situation worsens their condition and the people surrounding them such as their own family members. The purpose of the activity is to implement a competitive advantage strategy in the retail business and assistance in making product packaging in increasing retail business sales in the Old Tangerang market. PKM activity is an inspiration from the many retail stores that are not able to increase sales, which is due to competitive advantage strategies that have not been carried out optimally. Given the retail strategy in building a competitive advantage is very necessary for a retailer. The location of the traditional market was chosen because it still needs help from various parties. Including from educational institutions. For this activity partners were chosen because of limited competitive advantage and limited knowledge of the strategy of excellence. In addition, the limitations of partners to build excellence, in assessing internal and external factors in the business environment through SWOT, are indispensable to assist retailers in assessing business excellence. Furthermore, to improve product sales value, better product packaging is needed, this has not been done by partners. The method offered in this activity is the provision of knowledge of retail business excellence strategies, SWOT strategies and packaging design in the form of FGDs, socialization and training. While the assistance is done by making product packaging that is more environmentally friendly. Through this activity will help overcome the problems of partners in doing business better than competitors. Thus the hope can help partners in increasing sales.ABSTRAK:Tujuan kegiatan adalah mengimplementasikan strategi keunggulan bersaing usaha ritel dan pendampingan membuat pengemasan produk dalam meninggkatkan penjualan Usaha Ritel di pasar Lama Tangerang. Kegiatan PKM merupakan inspirasi dari banyaknya toko ritel yang tidak mampu meningkatkan penjulan, yang dikarenakan strategi keunggulan bersaing yang belum dilakukan secara optimal. Mengingat strategi eceran dalam membangun keunggulan bersaing sangatlah diperlukan bagi seorang pengecer. Dipilih lokasi pasar tradisional karena masih sangat membutuhkan bantuan dari berbagai pihak. Termasuk dari lembaga pendidikan. Untuk kegiatn ini mitra yang dipilih karena masih lemahnya keunggulan bersaing, lemahnya pengetahuan akan strategi keunggulan. Selain itu keterbatasan mitra membangun keunggulan, dalam menilai faktor internal dan eksternal di lingkungan usaha melalui SWOT, yang sangat diperlukan untuk membantu peritel dalam menilai keunggulan usaha. Selanjutnya untuk meningkatkan nilai jual produk diperlukan kemasan produk yang lebih baik, hal ini belum dilakukan mitra. Metode yang ditawarkan dalam kegiatan ini adalah pemberian pengetahuan akan strategi keunggulan usaha ritel, strategi SWOT dan desain kemasan dalam bentuk FGD, sosialisasi dan pelatihan. Sedangkan pendampingan dilakukan dengan membuat kemasan produk yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Melalui kegiatan ini akan membantu mengatasi persoalan mitra dalam melakukan usaha secara lebih baik dibandingkan pesaing. Dengan demikian harapannya dapat membantu mitra dalam meningkatkan penjualan

Business opportunities and challenges in the economic sector are underway in the country, including in Medan Labuhan. Many regions build their territory by making public spaces such as traditional markets. Nowadays, there is a change of consumer behavior toward the traditional market so; its positions are replaced by the modern markets. With the revitalization of Pekan Labuhan traditional market that carries the theme of behavioral architecture is expected to restore the function of the traditional market as a place of selling and purchasing transaction and increasing competitiveness to the modern market. With the achievement of this issue will increase consumer interest to shop in Pekan Labuhan traditional market which then gives a good impact on the economic stability of Medan Labuhan.
