This research aims to create a supporting media product in English Grammar learning in semester 2 students majoring in English at IAIN Palopo. based on observations in June 2019, the author found a problem in the scale of student use in smartphone use that is increasingly growing. Therefore, the author is interested in creating an online comic that can be accessed on the phone by using an application called Webtoon. The study design used in this study was Research and Development (R&D) utilized ADDIE Model. It consists of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The product is used as a supporting medium in English grammar learning which was once being studied by Semester 2 English Student IAIN Palopo. The product was tried out to the Students of Semester 2 of English Students at IAIN Palopo. The instruments were used in this study are Questionnaire for need analysis and observation sheet for 5 Experts and student’s perception. In this study, 5 experts were involved in order to validate the product. The elements of the validation are Display, Content/Materials, Language, and the Application. The result based from the expert’s validation as well as try-out product result, the product of this study was appropriate to be applied for the students of English Department semester 2, as a supporting media in Learning English Grammar

This research aimed to develop an appropriate module based on the writing needs of the learners. The author took the fourth-semester learners of the English Department at the State Islamic Institute of Palopo in the academic year 2018/2019. The author involved 40 learners as her participants. The method of the research was Research and Development. The author used the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model consisted of five stages, namely analysis, design, develop, implementation and evaluation. The instruments of the research were questionnaires and documents. The data were analyzed quantitatively qualitatively. The results of the content, the design, and the media experts validation showed that the module got good and very good category. The writing I module quality based on the learners’ response in the field try-out showed that 75% of learners very agree and 25% of learners agree with the materials presented in the module. The result of this research hopefully gives a contribution to some parties, especially to the writing I lecturers and to the other researchers.

This study was a research and development (RD) study designed which involved:  need  analysis,  design,  development,  implementation,  and  evaluation. The  data  were gathered through observation, questionnaires, interview, validation technique and test.The  result  of  this  study showed that: (1) the students need specific material about daily activity; (2) the design of book, learning English vocabulary which contain picture; (3)the deaf students’ wants Learning English use media images because image make it easier for them to remember English vocabulary, and they are able to describe  facial expressions and gestures; (4) when learn English vocabulary they must remember each word by practicing it.

Attitude is one of the success factors in language learning. It includes students’ feelings, beliefs, and behavior tendencies. This study is conducted using the mixed-method research  exploring English Department students’ attitude on learning English. The main focus of the study is to discover students’ belief on English, to understand students’ attitude, feeling and behavior on learning English. The data were collected through questionnaire and semi-structured interview. The participants of the reseach were fifty five students selected randomly to fill in the questionnaire. However, only six students were selected purposively to gain data more in-depth through interview. The results indicate that English department students show positive attitude in three points of cognitive aspect; the students’ reason for learning English, the students’ level of English competeent, and the students’ thinking toward learning English which they consider that English is important.  Moreover, the students have positive in four points of emotional attitude; the students’ interesting in learning English, the students’ feeling in learning English, the students’ preference in learning English, and the students’ enjoyment in learning English which the students show good feeling in learning English. Furthermore, the students have positive in three points of behavioral attitude; the students’ attention during learning English, students’ participation in the English which the students act posively during learning English. In other words, English Department students were found to have positive attitudes toward learning English.

This research is designed to develop the students’ reading comprehension of narrative, descriptive and hortatory exposition texts by using cooperative learning based-module. It aims to explainthe current needs, to design and toexamine the validity and practicality of cooperative learning based-module in developing reading comprehension at the second-semester Students in English Department of FKIP – UIR. The design of this research is R & D approach by using ADDIE model. The sample was selected from second semester students at English Department of FKIP UIR. Five validators involved in evaluating the product to evaluate its the validity, and the practicality. The quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire and test and qualitative data were collected through an interview. To develop the learning material to be givento students, the researcher tried to find out the need analysis, the validity, and the practicality of her product in designing and implementing readingin cooperative learning based-module. Based on the research finding of this research was considered valid and practice and it can be used to develop the quality of students in reading comprehension.

This research aims to obtain information about the needs of learners in Englih learning especially non English department students surroundings of Tarbiyah and teacher training Faculty of IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo, the results of the analysis of data obtained via the questionaire form as the main instrument. Based on the data analysis, it was obtained information that the English material should be submitted by using the strategies varied, English has four skills with more emphasized on a competency-based vocabulary , this is because learners expected through vocabulary they can understand a textbook material on other subjects which is very useful for them in job field.

Need analysis is required to take place before developing a model for learning so that results meet the needs of the students who will use the model. This descriptive study aims at finding out the needs in learning English grammar from students� perspectives at the EESP of the University of Bengkulu. The data was taken through a questionnaire with 65 questions given to 44 students who took Structure I Course in the 2016-2017 academic year and analyzed quantitatively. The results of this study reveal that the students need a clear goals of learning English grammar, learning approaches that uses the story-based, the deductive, and the inductive approach, a friendly and meaningful learning atmosphere, a learning model that incorporates the uses of stories and current technology for the teaching and learning process and has a complete support system especially the learning materials, and has an attitude, a final assignment and an individual learning process result assessments.Keywords: Needs analysis, model, grammar learning

Purpose - This research aims to understand the development of English book material for Grammar at Mambaus Sholihin English Course (MEC) Gresik. Design/methodology/approach - This research applied the Educational Research and Development (RnD) to develop the contents. This research method deals with the researcher’s purpose wants to be aimed by need analysis, drafting the document, organizing material, review, expert validation, revision I, try out, and correction II. Findings - This product has been suitable for the students’ needs to help them in learning grammar to be easier understood and practiced. The result shows that book is appropriated with the purposed to help them who need this research and development in relaxed and fun learning of grammar notification. Also, this book is completed with direct method although it is used in speaking skill more, it is also suitable for grammar in learning and teaching. Originality/value - It is important for a teacher or tutor to innovate in designing a teaching book that suits the needs of students. Especially for students who do not have a study handbook. This study examines a range of learning activities used in teaching English and identifies those that students see as most helpful. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire adopted from Willing (1988). Some modification had been made to meet the purpose of this study. The questionnaire consists of two parts. Part 1 is ethnographic data in terms of the participants’ gender and field of study. Part 2 consists several items comprises students’ preferred activities in learning English. Students are asked to rank the activities of each category by circling one number. Circling number 1 means it is not helpful /preferable, while circling number 4 means it is very helpful /preferable for them. Then, all the responses were analyzed using SPSS Professional Statistics.The study suggests a number of pedagogical implication for English teaching and learning for non-English department students at universities in Indonesia. The finding suggests that teachers should take preferred activities into account when they are teaching. In addition, the study also proposed some suggestions for further research. These suggestions state the need to conduct research which involves more participants to confirm the results of the current study.

PENGEMBANGAN LEMBAR KERJA MAHASISWA (LKM) BERBASIS INKUIRI TERBIMBING PADA MATERI KOROSI AbstractThis research aims to develop student worksheet of Basic Chemistry Practicum II on the topic at corrosion based on guided inquiry and investigate the feasibility of it’s implementation in the real classroom practice. This is a Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model where  12 active students of chemistry department involved at the implementation stage. Data was collected through interview, questionnaire of need analysis and questionnaires to seek the opinion from students, laboratory assistant and lecturer. It was revealed that the student worksheet was valid with score of validity of 97,8%, thus, applicable for investigation. Response of students, laboratory assistants and lecturers to the implementation of practicum using student worksheet which has been developed as a whole is very good. 47,92% student were strongly agreed about practicum relevancy to daily life, 50% agreed that inquiry questions are useful. 75% of assistants strongly agreed that worksheet can help students to design their own experiments and 25% agreed about demanded the ability of class management. 71,43% lecturers strongly agreed that worksheet can motivate students to be more active and 28,57% agreed that worksheet is effective to achieve the practicum objectives. Thus, the student worksheet is applicable to be utilized as one of the teaching materials.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKM Praktikum Kimia Dasar II berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi korosi dan menguji kelayakannya pada pelaksanaan praktikum. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE. Subjek penelitian tahap implementasi adalah mahasiswa aktif pendidikan kimia berjumlah 12 orang. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari wawancara, angket analisis kebutuhan serta angket respon dari praktikan, asisten laboratorium dan dosen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persentase rata-rata kelayakan LKM yang divalidasi tim ahli oleh dosen dan penilaian oleh asisten laboratorium adalah 97,8%, dan dapat dikategorikan sangat valid dan layak digunakan tanpa revisi. Respon praktikan, asisten laboratorium dan dosen terhadap pelaksanaan praktikum menggunakan LKM yang dikembangkan secara keseluruhan sangat baik. 47,92% responden menyatakan bahwa praktikum sangat relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, 50% setuju bahwa pertanyaan penyelidikan bermanfaat. 75% asisten laboratorium sangat setuju bahwa LKM mampu melatih praktikan merancang percobaan sendiri dan 25% asisten setuju bahwa pelaksanaan praktikum berbasis inkuiri menuntut kemampuan dalam mengelola kelas. Persentase rata-rata respon dosen adalah 71,43% sangat setuju bahwa LKM mampu memotivasi praktikan lebih aktif dan 28,57% setuju bahwa LKM efektif dalam mencapai tujuan praktikum. Dengan demikian, LKM yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai salah satu bahan ajar.
