Construction occupational accidents are often attributed to workers’ having an insufficient perception of how their actions influence safety in the construction site. This research explores the relationship between safety climate (SC) and personnel safety behavior (SB) of construction workers operating on building construction sites in Taiwan. The study discovered a significant positive relationship between SC and SB of Taiwan’s building construction sites, and in turn SC level had a positive impact on SB participation and overall safety perceptions. The higher the SC cognition of Taiwan’s building construction workers, the better the performance of SB was found to be. The dimension of "safety commitment and safety training" had the greatest relationship with SB. Safety training also had a deep impact on the cognition of SB. Therefore, the organizational culture and attitudes to safety coupled with the successful implementation of safety education and training can effectively enhance SC and worker SB on building construction sites in Taiwan, thereby potentially reducing the impacts of the underlying organizational factors behind safety related incidents.

This studi examined the behavioral intention of sustainable waste management inelementary school student using the framework of Theory of Planned Behavior. The objectiveof this study was to know the relationship of knowledge, attitude, and the behavioral intentionof sustainable waste management. Population and sample in this study were elementaryschool students in the Padang City, West Sumatra. The data collected for this study wereanalyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of this study stated that theknowledge about sustainable waste management has a significant relationship with attitudestowards sustainable waste management. Knowledge and attitudes towards sustainable wastemanagement had a significant association with the behavioral intention of sustainable wastemanagement. These findings have important implications for the school as well as for policymakers.

The purpose of this study was: (1) to reveal how formal educational background, knowledge, economic status, attitudes and efforts of the farming community farming Gyrinops versteegii (Gilg.) Domke on the island of Lombok. (2) to determine the relationship of formal educational background, knowledge, and attitudes to the economic status of the farming community efforts Gyrinops versteegii (Gilg.) Domke on the island of Lombok. This type of research is survey research design and descriptive quantitative descriptive correlational. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. While the relationship of formal education background, knowledge, economic status and attitudes correlated with community efforts on cultivating Gyrinops versteegii (Gilg.) Domke using bivariate product moment correlation test, followed by regression analysis using the aid package SPSS for Windows 00:17. Results of this study indicate that (1) the level of formal education background, at 25.71% with very low category, knowledge of 67.23% with enough categories, economic status by 50% with the low category, the attitude of 65.40% with enough categories, and cultivation efforts Gyrinops versteegii of 54.42% with low category. (2) The results of analysis of the association in this study showed that there is a significant relationship between formal educational background, knowledge, and attitudes to the economic status of efforts farming Gyrinops versteegii with correlation value of 0.898 and the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.806.

Job stress is considered one of the critical causes of construction workers’ unsafe behaviors. As a mainstay industry in many countries, the construction industry has a considerable number of employees and the research on how job stress affects workers’ unsafe behaviors has important theoretical and practical significance to improve construction safety performance through better job stress management. In this study, the authors thoroughly reviewed the literature and conducted semi-structured interviews to identify the dimensions of job stress, designed the job stress scale and cited the safety behavior measurement scale. After that, a questionnaire survey was developed using the proposed measurement scale and distributed to the construction employees from a project in Beijing. One hundred fifty responses were collected and analyzed using reliability analysis to validate the scale’s internal consistency. Results from factor analysis indicate that the scales of job stress measurement can be grouped into six dimensions. To demonstrate the applicability of the developed scale on construction safety management research, the collected data was used to test the hypothesis that job stress has a negative correlation with safety behavior. Results show that the hypothesis is valid, and there is a negative correlation between job stress and safety behavior. In addition, finer results of the relationship between the six dimensions of job stress and safety behavior can be obtained. In summary, this study developed an improved stress scale for construction workers in China, and the proposed scale was validated by analyzing the data from an empirical study in Beijing.

Employment insecurity and an insecure safety atmosphere are the main factors that deteriorate the morale of construction workers [1]. These are both indirect causes that may have a great impact on the risk of an accident in the long term, and as such need to be studied [2]. Therefore, this study examines the relationship between employment insecurity and safety atmosphere and the safety behavior of construction workers. Through verification of the model presented in this study, it was proven that employment insecurity and safety atmosphere have an impact on safety behavior.
