AbstractIn this paper, based on the analysis of official FAOSTAT and EUROSTAT data on poultry meat for 38 European countries for years 2007 and 2009, two hypotheses were examined. Firstly, considering four clustering variables on poultry meat, i.e. production, export and import in kg/capita, as well as the producer price in US $/t, using descriptive exploratory and cluster analysis, the hypothesis that the clusters of countries may be recognized was confirmed. As a result six clusters of similar countries were distinguished. Secondly, based on multiple regression analysis, this paper proofs that there exists the statistically significant relationship of poultry meat production on export and import of that kind of meat, all measured in kg/capita. There is also a high correlation between production, as a dependent, and each of two independent variables.

This research is aimed at understanding the relationship of leadership style and compensation on employee performance at PT SSBP considering that the two independent variables are the main factors that determines the success of a company as general as well as PT SSBP. The research obtained data from 144 respondents out of 210 total employees. A questionnaire was prepared to catch their perception on leadership style and compensation and how they affect their performance in the company they work with. From the data obtained and the analysis result shows that the relationship and the contribution of leadership style and compensation on the performance of employees is strong and significant, either partially or simultaneously. Therefore as managerial instruments, leadership style and compensation are extremely important factors to be considered and continuously updated in order to keep and maintain employees motivation that in turn will boost their performance,

This study presents an empirical study of consumer behavior regarding the decision to purchase bottled water. Along with the increasing need for healthy water for consumption, consumers in this industry are also growing and promising now and in the future. This study aims to study the effect of two variables that play an important role in the decision to purchase bottled drinking water, namely brand awareness and price. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. After distributing the questionnaires, a total of 97 respondents were obtained. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis assisted by SPSS 25. This study resulted in the finding that brand awareness proved to have a significant influence on purchasing decisions. In addition, the price proved to have a significant effect on purchasing decisions. Simultaneously, the two independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable. Brand awareness is a variable that has a dominant influence.

A many-sided evaluation of grain yield stability of 22 maize hybrids from the early group (FAO 300-400), tested in 4 locations was done. Different methods and models were applied: variation and regression analysis; AMMI and cluster analysis as well. A modified method for grouping of hybrids by mean yield and mean values of the regression coefficient bi was proposed. A good accordance between that method and AMMI-1 analysis was observed. The cluster analysis also confirms this consent. Calculated theoretical yields by locations create conditions for more precise zoning of hybrids according to environments.

Cultured meat, as a product of recent advancement in food technology, might become a viable alternative source of protein to traditional meat. As such, cultured meat production is disruptive as it has the potential to change the demand for traditional meats. Moreover, it has been claimed it can be more sustainable regarding the environment and that it is, perhaps, a solution to animal welfare issues. This study aimed at investigating associations between the consumer groups and demographic and psychographic factors as well as identifying distinct consumer groups based on their current willingness to engage with cultured meat. Four European countries were studied: the Netherlands (NL), the United Kingdom (UK), France (FR) and Spain (ES). A sample of 1291 responses from all four countries was collected between February 2017 and March 2019. Cluster analysis was used, resulting in three groups in the NL and UK, and two groups in FR and ES. The results suggest that Dutch consumers are the most willing to engage with cultured meat. Food neophobia and food technology neophobia seem to distinguish the groups the clearest. Moreover, there is some evidence that food cultural differences among the four countries seem to be also influencing consumers’ decision.

The numerical representation and differentiation of experimental information is extended to full-field capability involving two independent variables. Bicubic spline, regression analysis and finite-element concepts are employed. Smoothing of the experimental data is accomplished mathematically. The technique are demonstrated by analysing loaded plates.

A number of statistical experiments analyze data on the frequency and distribution of words evoking twenty-two different themes in Gide's novel l'Immoraliste. The statistical tests are simple and standard; they can be applied using widely-available program packages. The results are evaluated in terms of traditional literary analysis of the novel. Correlations of the distributions of the themes could not be interpreted easily when presented in table form. However, multidimensional scaling and cluster analysis of the correlations not only produced results parallel to the literary analysis but suggested how it could be refined. Regression analysis did not generate conclusive results. The methods used are evaluated and suggestions for future explorations are made.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to prove that e-learning, in union with another variable, builds a statistically significant relationship for estimating improvements in employment security, i.e., transition to employment of the same or higher job security as the previous year. Design/methodology/approach Using data from Eurostat 2007-2013 in 28 European countries, and after carrying out analysis of 261 regression models between the e-learning variable, along with another variable related to working conditions, education, or e-skills levels of citizens. Findings This study provides evidence about: there is a statistically significant relationship (p-value<0.05) between employment security (dependent variable), e-learning and another variable (independent variables) in 60.7 percent of 28 European countries analyzed (p-value<0.05 for at least one of these two independent variables); and there is a statistically significant relationship (p-value<0.05) in 75 percent of 28 countries (p-value<0.1 for at least one of these two independent variables). Consequently, a set with the minimum number of useful indicators for calculating the employment security is proposed: e-learning, labor transition, tertiary education, temporary employees, e-job search and e-skills. Practical implications Moreover, several similarities between studied countries are found, helping to formulate various recommendations based on complementarities between being an employee and using lifelong e-learning systems as a way for improving employment security. Originality/value This is one of the first studies to provide evidence of the relationship between e-learning and job security in Europe, in view of this, it should be considered as a key element and essential to any European policy related to work.

This study explores the relationship of daily mood and daily events in a caregiving context. Family caregivers to demented elders ( N = 43) kept fourteen-day diaries of: 1) caregiving activities, 2) disruptive patient behaviors, and 3) daily mood. Independent raters and cluster analysis support the hypothesis of three mood patterns. Differences among the three clusters in the relationship of mood and daily caregiving events were explored. The findings indicate that some caregivers are highly distressed by caregiving demands, some report moderate levels of distress, and others show no relationship between mood and daily events. The varied patterns support an individual differences approach to understanding caregiving and in the design of interventions.

Equilibrium concentration quotients, K1, have been calculated for the first ionization step of orthophosphoric acid at 25.0 °C. Literature information for γHCl in mixed orthophosphate–chloride solutions has made it possible to use the published electrochemical data of Bates and Nims for this purpose. K1 is found to be a function of two independent variables for orthophosphate concentrations from 9 × 10−2 m down to at least 1.0 × 10−2 m. K1 is described in terms of total orthophosphate concentration CT and the degree of ionization, α1. Linear multiple regression analysis was used to produce the empirical equation K1 = K1* + A0CT1/2 − βα1CT1/2, in which K1* is an experimental constant not identified with the thermodynamic equilibrium constant, [Formula: see text].
