A many-sided evaluation of grain yield stability of 22 maize hybrids from the early group (FAO 300-400), tested in 4 locations was done. Different methods and models were applied: variation and regression analysis; AMMI and cluster analysis as well. A modified method for grouping of hybrids by mean yield and mean values of the regression coefficient bi was proposed. A good accordance between that method and AMMI-1 analysis was observed. The cluster analysis also confirms this consent. Calculated theoretical yields by locations create conditions for more precise zoning of hybrids according to environments.

A number of statistical experiments analyze data on the frequency and distribution of words evoking twenty-two different themes in Gide's novel l'Immoraliste. The statistical tests are simple and standard; they can be applied using widely-available program packages. The results are evaluated in terms of traditional literary analysis of the novel. Correlations of the distributions of the themes could not be interpreted easily when presented in table form. However, multidimensional scaling and cluster analysis of the correlations not only produced results parallel to the literary analysis but suggested how it could be refined. Regression analysis did not generate conclusive results. The methods used are evaluated and suggestions for future explorations are made.

AbstractIn this paper, based on the analysis of official FAOSTAT and EUROSTAT data on poultry meat for 38 European countries for years 2007 and 2009, two hypotheses were examined. Firstly, considering four clustering variables on poultry meat, i.e. production, export and import in kg/capita, as well as the producer price in US $/t, using descriptive exploratory and cluster analysis, the hypothesis that the clusters of countries may be recognized was confirmed. As a result six clusters of similar countries were distinguished. Secondly, based on multiple regression analysis, this paper proofs that there exists the statistically significant relationship of poultry meat production on export and import of that kind of meat, all measured in kg/capita. There is also a high correlation between production, as a dependent, and each of two independent variables.

Abstract This study analyzed the temporal variation of tropospheric ozone (O3) in Poznan (midwestern Poland) on the basis of data collected from a State Environmental Monitoring air quality assessment station. The aim was to investigate the distribution and variation of O3 levels and to assess the relationship with nitrogen oxides (NOx) and meteorological conditions. These relationships were assessed by multiple regression analysis and cluster analysis. The O3 levels showed a high annual, seasonal and daily volatility, and were significantly influenced by meteorological conditions and NOx levels. High O3 levels were accompanied by above-average levels of radiation (Rad), air temperature (Ta) and wind speed (Ws), together with below-average values of NOx and humidity (Rh). Atmospheric pressure (Ph) had an ambiguous effect on O3 levels.

Sugar beet is the most important crop for sugar production in Europe. Wide genetic variability is essential in sugar beet breeding programs. The aim of this study is to evaluate variability for the main root traits and differences between monogerm and multigerm sugar beet genotypes from the breeding collection at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops. The following traits were analyzed: root weight (g), dry matter content (%), root head weight (g), root/head ratio (%), number of cambial rings, root length (cm) and root diameter (cm). Mean values for two years per genotype were standardized and used for analysis. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Cluster Analysis (CA) were used to examine the level of diversity for 20 genotypes and to rank the contributions of the variables. According to CA genotypes could be placed into five main groups, where a large number of multigerm genotypes were put in one group. On average multigerm genotypes were characterized by higher mean values for root weight, length, diameter and lower root head ratio. Multigerm genotypes had higher coefficients of variation for nearly all measured root traits.

We consider the class of logical decision rules and its applications for the solution of various problems of multivariate statistical analysis: discriminant and regression analysis, and cluster analysis. Some useful properties of the statistical analysis methods using the class under consideration are shown. Particular attention is paid to the possibility of presenting statistical results (unlike all other methods) in a language close to a natural language of logical statements.

This study aims to determine the effect of motivation, self awareness and communication on the work discipline of employees in the Regional Water Supply Company (PDAM) of Ponorogo Regency. The location of research in Pramuka Street Number 21, Nologaten, Ponorogo Regency. The population in this study was 102 employees. The sample in this study used 50 respondents. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, then tested with validity and reliability test, while the method of data analysis using multiple regression analysis with the help of SPSS and hypothesis testing partially or simultaneously. The results showed that; (1) Motivation partially influences the work discipline of employees in the Regional Water Supply Company (PDAM) of Ponorogo Regency with a regression coefficient of 0.317, t value of 2.903> t table of 2.012 and sig. of 0.006 <0.05, (2) Self Awareness partially influences the work discipline of employees in the Regional Water Supply Company (PDAM) of Ponorogo Regency with the results of the regression coefficient of 0.409, t value of 3.478> t table of 2.012 and sig. of 0.001 <0.05, (3) Communication partially influences the work discipline of employees in the Regional Water Supply Company (PDAM) of Ponorogo Regency with the results of a regression coefficient of 0.310, t value of 2.178> t table of 2.012 and sig. of 0.035 <0.05, (4) Motivation, self awareness and communication simultaneously affect employee work discipline in the Regional Water Supply Company (PDAM) of Ponorogo Regency with the calculated F value of 14.807> F table 2.81 and sig value. of 0,000 <0.05, (5) Self awareness is the most dominant variable affecting the work discipline of employees in the Regional Water Supply Company (PDAM) of Ponorogo Regency with the result of self awareness variable t value of 3.478 is greater than the value of t variable count motivation and communication variables. Furthermore, from the value of sig. the variable self awareness of 0.001 is smaller than the value of sig. motivation variable and communication variable.

Subject. The article focuses on the modern financial system of Russia. Objectives. I determine the limit of the contemporary financial system in Russia. Methods. The study is based on methods of descriptive statistics, statistical and cluster analysis. Results. The article shows the possibility of determining the scope of the contemporary financial system in Russia by establishing monetary relations as the order of the internal system and concerted operation of subsystems, preserving the structure of the financial system, maintaining the operational regime, implementing the program and achieving the goal. I found that the Russian financial system correlated with the Angolan one, and the real scope of the contemporary financial system in Russia. Conclusions and Relevance. As an attempt to effectively establish monetary relations and manage them, the limit of the contemporary financial system is related to the possibility of using Monetary Aggregate M0 to maintain the balance of the Central Bank of Russia. To overcome the scope of Russia’s financial system, the economy should have changed its specialization, refocusing it on high-tech export and increasing the foreign currency reserves. This can be done if amendments to Russia’s Constitution are adopted. The findings expand the scope of knowledge and create new competence in the establishment of monetary relations, order of the internal system and concerted interaction of subsystems, structural preservation of the financial system and maintenance of its operational regime.
