Planning of public open space in Dasan Cermen Park, Mataram City to support local cultural activities. Mataram city has experienced development rapidly that causes the need of builded space is increased so that the quality of the environment is getting lower, so it needs the existence of public open space. In addition to having ecological functions, the existence of public open space also has a socio-cultural function as a place of social interaction and describes the local cultural expression. Based on these problems, it is necessary to have a public open space planning in the form of a park that can describe the local cultural expression. The purpose of this research is to plan the park in accordance with the local cultural identity of Mataram city. This research used survey method with observation technique, interview, questionnaire distribution and literature study. Planning refers to systematic planning method. The concept applied is the preservation of local culture. The final result of this research is planning of public open space in Dasan Cermen Mataram City which is divided into three spaces, such as conservation space, social space and cultural space. Further research is needed to design of public open space in Dasan Cermen Mataram City and attention to aspects of public open space management.

Lumintang Field is one of the artificial landscapes in the form of public open space with its main function as a ceremonial field. At present, the field also has an additional function as a place for sports, recreations and educations, its evidenced by the construction of various facilities to support community activities. Although it has been improved, this field still has problems, such as the number of visitors stepping on low plants when entering the field, so that access to the field that is not functioning properly and the absence of a parking lot makes visitors park carelessly. The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of Lumintang Field as a public open space in Denpasar City. The method used is a survey method with data collection techniques are observation, questionnaire distribution, interviews, and literature study, with data analysis such as Lumintang Field facilities analysis and analysis of public space effectiveness. The results revealed that the existence of Lumintang Field as a public open space in Denpasar City was quite effective with a value of 2.0. The participation of visitors is needed to participate in maintaining the cleanliness and preservation of Lumintang Field, and the management can make the results of the research as a reference in the future improvement of the field area.

Planning of children-friendly open spaces in Astina Jaya, Blahbatuh Village, Blahbatuh District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. The influence of the environment determines how a child can grow in public open space which is formed as a place of development. Village conditions directly affect the protection, growth, and development of talents and interests of children, so the form of child-friendly village will support creating a decent environment for children. Astina Jaya is a public open space in Blahbatuh village which facilitates their residents to activate in outdoor space. The existence of a child-friendly open space is one indicator of the form of children friendly village. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the constraints and potential of the site, also to create the appropriate concept of the site development. The methods used in this research were field survey method with data collection techniques through observation, documentation, interview and distribution of questionnaire, and also by conducting literature study. Furthermore, data were processed by tabulation method and qualitative descriptive analysis method which referred to the stages of planning process. The results showed that the spatial development consists of the core area, the buffer area, and the outer area. The concept of vegetation consists of the function of microclimate control, education, and physical barrier. The concept of circulation consists of primary and secondary circulation, and the concept of child play which is developed is a children friendly open space.

A group of children experience disability in segregation conditions, namely the status of individuals who have difficultie / are denied access to public services. Many of them are marginalized and it is difficult to access existing facilities in the city. The aim of the study was to find out what application of accessibility services tended to have been implemented and which was still less applied in urban public open space planning. In terms of efforts to achieve the right of equality and fulfillment of services in the public open space for children with disabilities. The method used in this study is qualitative and this research is descriptive. by collecting data related to elephant wong parks and denggung parks. then the data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis method, namely the analysis method with 3 stages. 1) data reduction 2) data display 3) conclution. The results of this study indicate that the application of accessibility services in terms of four criteria, namely: ease, usability, safety, and independence. Ease is still a priority in the design of public open space and independence is still a part that has not been well considered, so that public open space cannot be used independently for persons with disabilities. Keyword: Accessibility, Open Space, Disabled child

ABSTRAKRuang terbuka publik merupakan salah satu ruang yang seharusnya berada pada sebuah perumahan. Saat ini banyak ruang terbuka publik yang fungsinya sudah dibangkitkan kembali oleh pihak penyelenggara, baik pihak pemerintah maupun pihak swasta. Secara fisik, keberadaan ruang terbuka publik kini dalam keadaan yang layak dan baik. Namun, pada ruang publik ini terlihat fasilitas ruang publik yang sangat sederhana dan jumlahnya pun terbatas. Penelitian ini disusun untuk melihat persepsi pengunjung pada kelengkapan fasilitas di ruang terbuka dengan tingkat kenyamanan pengunjungnya. Dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan observasi kajian di ruang terbuka publik dan menyebarkan kuisioner kepada pengunjung. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa menurut pengunjung, mereka merasa nyaman ketika berada di ruang terbuka publik ini. Penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat untuk peningkatan perencanaan ruang terbuka publik di perumahan selanjutnya. ABSTRACTPublic open space is one of the spaces that should be in a housing complex. At present many public open spaces whose functions have been resurrected by the organizers, both the government and private parties. Physically, the existence of public open space is now in a decent and good condition. However, in this public space public facilities are very simple and the number is limited. This research is structured to see the perception of visitors on the completeness of facilities in open space with the level of comfort of visitors. By using descriptive quantitative methods, this research was conducted by observing studies in public open spaces and distributing questionnaires to visitors. The results of this study are that according to visitors, they feel comfortable when in this public open space. This research can be useful for improving public open space planning in the next housing complex.

Merdeka Square of Binjai City is one of the public open spaces in Binjai City, which has a variety of activities and various types of public open user behavior. Some users of public open space behavior do not use the square facilities by the function of public open spaces. This study aims to identify the physical traces left by the users, to know the activities and behavior of users of Merdeka Square in Binjai City. The method used is a literature study, direct observation accompanied by behavioral mapping and described descriptively with a qualitative approach. The results showed that the behavior of users did not use the facilities in accordance with their functions, such as using a badminton court as a place to play skateboard, and the activities of users who left a physical traces at the Merdeka Square in Binjai City, such as sitting and relaxing in the grass in the middle of the field. The physical traces left by the users of the Merdeka City Square in Binjai, among others, is damage to the grass area in the middle of the field and damaged sidewalk barriers.

Design of Badung riverscape as non-green public open space in Denpasar City. Tukad Badung Riverscape in Pemogan Village is one of the riverscape in Denpasar City which has the potential to be designed as a Non-green Public Open Space (NPOS). NPOS is a place that can be used for the people to do their activities or recreation. This study aims to find out the potentials, problems and produce a design concept of Tukad Badung Riverscape in the Pemogan Village. The method used in this study was field survey with observation techniques, interviews, and literature study. Stages of this research are inventory, analysis, and synthesis which at the same time is the foundation in making design. The results indicated it had potentials and problems exist in Tukad Badung were people activities and Tukad Badung has wide riverbanks, meanwhile the problems were accessibility, plant, land, cleanliness, and facilities. The concept of design produced in this research was Balinese natural metaphor that takes the form of rice field terraces and beach waves. Suggestions that can be given are suggestions or recommendations for the government of Denpasar City such as NPOS design.

Green open space planning as a bird sink in Lima coastal area, Mengwi, Badung. The Reduction of birdbreeding habitat caused the bird population decreases every year. Birds have its ecological functions as partof the food chain and ecosystem balancer, bioindicators of environmental change, help pollinate the plants andas a pest predators. The survey method used is observation, interviews and literature reviews. The planningstages refer to Simond (1983) consist of objectives, inventory, analysis, synthesis and planning. The purposeof Lima Coastal Areas Planning is as a sink area. The results of data analysis showed the suitability of theLima Coastal area as a green open space bird habitat with an area of 18,000 m2 has various types of birds such as turtle birds, erasian sparrows, peking bondol, cow swallow, turtledoves, cucumber merbah, rice kareobirds, rice fields and heron. Green space planning for bird habitats in the Lima Coastal area is arranged basedon the concept of green open space as a sink area for birds. Spatial planning based on its function is dividedinto storage areas, transitions, corridors and education areas. The circulation systems are the circulation ofbirds from the source area to the sink area and the human circulation. Vegetation Planning also needed as asource of feed, nest and breed. Site Planning can be prepared as a bird green space sink in accordance withthe sink and source concept so that it can be developed into a core area of sink protection, transition, corridorand education area.
