To monitoring and optimization the operation of merchant vessels, remote access to the ship's systems, the so-called "ship-shore" networks, is being established. This requires the use of new complex digital electrical metering devices. Choosing the right and optimal device from the available on the current market is not an easy task. This article provides an overview of the typical electrical value analyzers used to create online data collection and transmission systems. A comparative review of the three devices currently widely used by different manufacturers (Phoenix Contact, Germany; ABB, Switzerland; DEIF, Denmark). The data reviewed is compiled into a table. Examples of the usage of these devices on specific vessels are given.

In this chapter, the authors endeavor to build a sociology of knowledge of studies conducted on humanitarianism and war-induced displacement in the Middle East region, considering the cases of Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, and Turkey in particular. A comparative analysis suggests that similarities and differences across the literature are not always motivated by specific forms of state governmentality. In this framework, postcolonial history seems to provide partial explanations. As a result, the displacement and humanitarianism literature need to transcend the state paradigm and focus on a larger variety of social and political factors. While most scholars have examined the work of the United Nations and of international institutions in the region, the authors highlight the need to learn from multilingual literature, especially that produced in the Global South, and from a deeper investigation of the principles and modalities of crisis management developed by actors from the Global South.

The paper is focused on burial grounds of the Mazunino Culture (or Mazunino stage of the Cheganda Cul-ture of the Pyany Bor Cultural-Historical Community by R.D. Goldina) in the Middle Kama Region. They date to the 3rd–5th c. AD and chronologically correlate with the Great Migration Period. The processes of major and minor migrations of that time had an impact on various components of the autochthonous Kama Region cultures. The focus of our research is the burials with throwing weapons, primarily arrowheads found in the Mazunino archers’ burials. The interest in throwing weapon was trigged by the heuristical observation of anthropologist Ivan G. Shi-robokov for the Boyar «Aray» cemetery, where the existence of morphological differences in a group of buried men with arrowheads was statistically proven. To examine this phenomenon, a working hypothesis was put for-ward: intra-group differences of one small necropolis could be reflected in the burial rite and the grave goods of all Mazunino archers’ burials. In total, 148 burials and 146 skeletons with arrowheads from 12 necropolises of the Mazunino Culture have been examined. The comparative analysis of the burial rite features demonstrated a sta-ble correlation between the presence of arrowheads and male burials. The archers’ burials correspond to the burial practices of the majority of the Mazunino population. Rare deviations suggest close relations between local communities and other cultures and ethnicities, primarily with nomadic tribes. Bone arrowheads as a primary weapon of the Mazunino warriors continue the previous traditions of the Ananyino, Pyany Bor (Cheganda) / Kara-Abyz Cultures. A comprehensive analysis of the inter-occurrence of implements in male equipment with arrow-heads allowed distinguishing two conventional groups of burials. The first one is characterized by the presence of only arrowheads in the burial equipment. These grave goods were typical for Mazunino population and consisted of ordinary belts, iron knives, beads, etc. The second group was significantly different, as these were individuals who were skilled in using various weapons, and their kit included various types of weapons for both close and long-range combat. Probably, there was a military gradation among such archers, which needs to be supported by analysis of a larger number of the Mazunino burials. The results of our work need to be verified using the an-thropological materials from other Mazunino burial grounds.

Analyzing visual meaning online and curating digitized images are topics of increasing relevance, but many potential methodologies for doing so remain merely implicit, underthematized, or unexplored. The potential for testing and developing semiotic theory through the exploration of visual data online also requires far more careful attention. In response, this paper provides an integrated, reflexive, Peircean account of two case studies featuring research projects focused on visual data drawn primarily from sources online, relying heavily on Google Image Search as a data collection tool. The first study illustrates the comparative analysis of brand mark logos to test and refine a theory of embodied semiotics involving oppositional relations. The second study illustrates the comparative analysis of images depicting the Tibetan Wheel of Life and Yama the monster of death, in order to test the embodied grounding hypothesis for the semiotic square. Issues of hypothesis formation, research parameters, data collection, database construction, operationalization, coding parameters, open data archiving and related issues are addressed in order to further develop and encourage practices of researching visual semiotics online in the context of Digital Humanities scholarship. Keywords: Mixed-methods research. Google Image search. Visual content analysis. Semiotic theory. Semiotic methods. Peircean semiotics.

Purpose of the study to carry out a comparative analysis of the state of the zonular fibers before and after surgery on UBM between femtolaser assisted and classical ultrasound cataract removal. Material and methods. 19 patients (38 eyes) with age-related cataracts. 22 eyes were with pseudo-exfoliative syndrome. All patients were examined with grade 1 lens subluxation. The first group of 19 eyes underwent cataract femto-phacoemulsification. The second group included 19 eyes without using a femtolaser. The state of the fibers was determined on the UBM on the fifth day after the operation at the end of antibiotic therapy. Results. The data showed the presence of a statistically significant difference between the group with femto-assistance and the group without it. In the first group, UBM analysis showed that the state of the zonular fibers remained in the same state in 16 of 19 eyes. In the second group, 11 of 19 eyes required ring implantation with suturing to the sclera and 3 required IOL implantation with seamless fixation to the sclera and vitrectomy. Conclusions. The appropriate path to surgery depends on the most accurate objective assessment of the condition of the lens ligaments, since the position of the IOL is one of the main factors for a good result expected by the patient after surgery. Reducing the «trauma» of the eye with lens surgery has been a key success factor and femtolaser guidance provides valuable assistance in obtaining it. Key words: lens subluxation, femtosecond laser, UBM.
