The cooperation between universities and businesses can bring many benefits for each party as well as for the socio-economic development in general. This relationship is motivated by the needs, capacities, conditions of each entity, and the level of institution constructivism. In Vietnam, although there have been policies of encouragement, the engagement between universities and businesses is still at a limited level due to different reasons. Along with the transition of higher education in the world from first generation universities to third generation universities, with the nature of an open academic environment, with multidimensional and multi-form cooperative exchanges, the model of entrepreneuprial university, or innovation-oriented university, has become popular. This research focuses on identifying the nature and characteristics of the entrepreneuprial university and proposing the development of an entrepreneuprial university model as a solution to promote cooperation between universities and businesses. The research shows that on the one side, an entrepreneuprial university has a need to be more business-oriented in itself to narrow the basin of challenges that exists between the two stakeholders. On the other side, the entrepreneuprial university model brings more trust to business and minimizes investment risks, thus creating more attraction for business to cooperate with universities.

One of the universal and effective methods of business management is value-based management. This method of management, on the one hand, is able to widely use the achievements of the digital economy, and on the other hand, most accurately reflects its specifics. This article discusses models for managing a digital business based on its value. Our research reveals the principles of construction and key features of these models. The result of our work is the conclusion that the future of business process management, as well as the prospects for further socio-economic development of our country, are related to the digitalization of its economy

According to Locke, all people are free and equal. Consequently, the natural world belongs to all people in common. But each person, along with his labor, belongs only to himself. Thus, although all people share a common right to use the world, each person acquires a private right to resources he “mixes” with his labor. Before large-scale economic development, there was no problem with each person appropriating as much as he could use, because this left “enough, and as good” for others. But once money spurred development, people could efficiently use far more. Under these new conditions, there was no longer enough and as good lying in common. Consequently, although everyone got richer through economic development, the world divided into resource owners and employees working on others’ resources. All of this posed a dilemma for Locke. On the one hand, people could be required to leave the world lying in common, preserving equal standing but sacrificing well-being for all. On the other, people could be permitted to develop the world into a network of private plots, greatly increasing well-being for all but sacrificing equal standing. Locke notices the tension, but he lacks an adequate solution. He implausibly appeals to our purported consent to money and its consequences before ending the chapter, thus leaving his property problem for others to solve.

Therefore, we believe that in the current conditions of socio-economic development of both individual territories and socio-economic spaces as a whole, one of the main imperatives for the economic growth of territorial systems should be considered the influence of the environmental factor that determines the possibility of full-fledged life activity of society taking into account the preservation and development of the gene pool of the nation and the rational use of natural resources.

Existen distintas plataformas tecnológicas útiles para enriquecer el quehacer docente en la Universidad. En este artículo se presentan dos de ellas, las cuales nos marcan el camino que está siguiendo la educación superior en el mundo estos días. iTunesU, herramienta especialmente diseñada para dispositivos de Apple y Coursera.org, abierta a cualquiera que tenga un navegador web, están abriendo camino a una educación más universal, abierta y de calidad. Las más calificadas universidades del mundo tienen presencia en estas plataformas y el número de universidades con cursos y conferencias disponibles para todos va en aumento cada día. La propuesta es que los profesores integren estos y similares recursos a sus prácticas docentes a fin de enriquecerlas.AbstractThere exist several useful technological platforms that help enhance the teaching performance in the University. In this article, the author presents two of them, which set the route that Higher Education is following in the world nowadays. They are, on the one hand, iTunesU, a tool specifically designed for Apple devices, and on the other, Coursera.org, which is available to anyone with access to a web navigator, and both are opening a new educational path, one that is more universal, open and of higher quality. These platforms are present in the best qualified universities in the world, and the number of universities that offer courses and conferences available to the open public is growing exponentially. The author proposes that teachers integrate these and other similar resources in their teaching practices as a way to enhance their results.

The review outlines the connection between E. Reinert’s book and the tradition of structural analysis. The latter allows for the heterogeneity of industries and sectors of the economy, as well as for the effects of increasing and decreasing returns. Unlike the static theory of international trade inherited from the Ricardian analysis of comparative advantage, this approach helps identify the relationship between trade, production, income and population growth. Reinert rehabilitates the “other canon” of economic theory associated with the mercantilist tradition, F. Liszt and the German historical school, as well as a reconside ration of A. Marshall’s analysis of increasing returns. Empirical illustrations given in the book reveal clear parallels with the path of Russian socio-economic development in the last twenty years.

There are two most inevitable issues on national literature, in this case Indonesian literature. First is the translation and the second is the standard of world literature. Can one speak for the other as a representative? Why is this representation matter? Does translation embody the voice of the represented? Without translation Indonesian literature cannot gain its recognition in world literature, yet, translation conveys the voice of other. In the case of production, publication, or distribution of Indonesian Literature to the world, translation works can be very beneficial. The position of Indonesian literature is as a part of world literature. The concept that the Western world should be the one who represent the subaltern can be overcome as long as the subaltern performs as the active speaker. If the subaltern remains silent then it means it allows the “representation” by the Western.

The United States is in a bind. On the one hand, we need millions of additional citizens with at least one year of successful post-secondary experience to adapt to the knowledge economy. Both the Gates and Lumina Foundations, and our President, have championed this goal in different ways. On the other hand, we have a post-secondary system that is trapped between rising costs and stagnant effectiveness, seemingly unable to respond effectively to this challenge. This paper analyzes several aspects of this problem, describes changes in the society that create the basis for solutions, and offers several examples from Kaplan University of emerging practice that suggests what good practice might look like in a world where quality-assured mass higher education is the norm.

The purpose of this paper is to re-examine the relationship between the degree of aggregate labour-intensity and the aggregate volume of saving in an economy where a Cobb-6ouglas production function in its traditional form can be assumed to give a good approximation to reality. The relationship in ques¬tion has an obviously important bearing on economic development policy in the area of choice of labour intensity. To the extent that and in the range where an increase in labour intensity would adversely affect the volume of savings, a con¬flict arises between two important social objectives, i.e., higher rate of capital formation on the one hand and greater employment and distributive equity on the other. If relative resource endowments in the economy are such that such a "competitive" range of labour-intensity falls within the nation's attainable range of choice, development planners will have to arrive at a compromise between these two social goals.

In attempting to characterize Second Temple legends of the Hasmoneans, the concluding chapter identifies several distinct genres: fragments from Aramaic chronicles, priestly temple legends, Pharisaic legends, and theodicean legends explaining the fall of the Hasmonean dynasty. The chapter then examines, by generation, how Josephus on the one hand, and the rabbis on the other, reworked these embedded stories. The Josephan treatment aimed to reduce the hostility of the early traditions toward the Hasmoneans by imposing a contrasting accusatory framework that blames the Pharisees and justifies the Hasmonean ruler. The rabbinic treatment of the last three generations exemplifies the processes of rabbinization and the creation of archetypal figures. With respect to the first generation, the deliberate erasure of Judas Maccabeus’s name from the tradition of Nicanor’s defeat indicates that they chose to celebrate the Hasmonean victory but concealed its protagonists, the Maccabees, simply because no way was found to bring them into the rabbinic camp.
