<p style="text-align: justify;">Scientific culture has been a concern for decades in the developed world, giving rise to conceptual changes known as paradigms. The first one is the longstanding literacy paradigm, defined by the skills and knowledge acquired at the education institution. It has been followed by the public understanding of science paradigm, related to the scientific understanding and an allegedly subsequent positive attitude towards science. Lastly, the engagement with science paradigm or science and society paradigm involves people's implications about the science-technology controversies with significant social impact. This article reflects how science teaching has evolved along the years in line with the scientific culture's conceptual shifts. It is concluded that this triad of paradigms is thus of a school nature, given that educational fields have suffered from transformation processes under the same vision of the world (world view), which has also changed the concept of scientific culture. Individuals in a research community learn ways of thinking, feeling and acting and therefore cannot help feeling a liking for what is short-lived and has not taken roots, both inside and outside the school in our postmodern age</p>

Abstract. Water-soluble organic compounds (WSOCs) play important roles in atmospheric particle formation, migration, and transformation processes. Size-segregated atmospheric particles were collected in a rural area of Beijing. Three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy was used to investigate the optical properties of WSOCs as a means of inferring information about their atmospheric sources. Sophisticated analysis on fluorescence data was performed to characteristically estimate the connections among particles of different sizes. WSOC concentrations and the average fluorescence intensity (AFI) showed a monomodal distribution in winter and a bimodal distribution in summer, with the dominant mode in the 0.26–0.44 µm size range in both seasons. The excitation–emission matrix (EEM) spectra of WSOCs varied with particle size, likely due to changing sources and/or the chemical transformation of organics. Size distributions of the fluorescence regional integration (regions III and V) and humification index (HIX) indicate that the humification degree or aromaticity of WSOCs was the highest in the particle size range of 0.26–0.44 µm. The Stokes shift (SS) and the harmonic mean of the excitation and emission wavelengths (WH) reflected that π-conjugated systems were high in the same particle size range. The parallel factor analysis (PARAFAC) results showed that humic-like substances were abundant in fine particles (< 1 µm) and peaked at 0.26–0.44 µm. All evidence supported the fact that the humification degree of WSOCs increased with particle size in the submicron mode (< 0.44 µm) and then decreased gradually with particle size, which implied that the condensation of organics occurred in submicron particles, resulting in the highest degree of humification in the particle size range of 0.26–0.44 µm rather than in the < 0.26 µm range. Synthetically analyzing three-dimensional fluorescence data could efficiently reveal the secondary transformation processes of WSOCs.

Cities play an essential role in the challenge of sustainability, and urban planning is one of the main tools for guiding urban transformation processes. This paper analyses the São Paulo Master Plan 2014, considering the principles and guidelines on compact cities, sustainable adaptation and ecosystem-based adaptation. An urban development model within sustainable parameters, however, involves conflict dynamics. In this sense, the views and demands of the main stakeholders seeking to influence the regulatory arena of São Paulo's urban policy are mapped. The analysis focuses on attempts to change the zoning law that would affect several of the definitions agreed in the Master Plan, prioritising mainly the interests of real estate developers.

Abstract Hierarchically structured chiral luminescent materials hold promise for achieving efficient circularly polarized luminescence. However, a feasible chemical route to fabricate hierarchically structured chiral luminescent polycrystals is still elusive because of their complex structures and complicated formation process. We here report a biomimetic non-classical crystallization (BNCC) strategy for preparing efficient hierarchically structured chiral luminescent polycrystals using well-designed highly luminescent homochiral copper(I)-iodide hybrid clusters as basic units for biomimetic crystallization. By monitoring the crystallization process, we unravel the BNCC mechanism, which involves crystal nucleation, nanoparticles aggregation, oriented attachment, and mesoscopic transformation processes. We finally obtain the circularly polarized phosphors with both high luminescent efficiency (32%) and high luminescent dissymmetry factor (1.5 × 10-2), achieving the first demonstration of a circularly polarized phosphor converted light emitting diode with a polarization degree of 1.84% at room temperature. Our designed BNCC strategy provides a simple, reliable and large-scale synthetic route for preparing bright circularly polarized phosphors.

Industries have undergone three fundamental transformation processes that were revolutionary. Following these processes, industries have been confronted with the phenomenon of Industry 4.0, known as the 4th Industrial Revolution, that is acknowledged as a new transformation process. The basic dynamics of this phenomenon include smart robots, simulation, the internet of things, cloud, additive manufacturing, and big data. It is of utmost importance for businesses that are involved in this process, that are new and trying to adapt to the process, to be prepared and adapt to the effects of Industry 4.0 dynamics. These dynamics lead to significant developments in business models, business processes, organizational structures, employees, and human resource processes. When Industry 4.0 and its dynamics are evaluated in general, businesses that follow the process and make necessary managerial adjustments will be ahead of the competition.

The issue of “ethics,” which is frequently emphasized in the development and transformation processes of public administration (PA) and stands out in the context of combating problems, crises, and corruption in the discipline, is becoming more important in today's global world. In parallel, studies on the place and importance of ethics education in PA have been increasing in recent years, especially with the emphasis on the ability of ethics to provide solutions to these problems. In this context, this study addresses the place and importance of ethics education in PA education and training in the world and in Turkey. In this framework, firstly, the relationship between PA and ethics and the importance of ethics education in PA are examined. After that, the examples of educational institutions providing ethics education in the world and in Turkey and their educational contents are analyzed. The study ends by making a comparison concerning the subject in the world and Turkey and making various suggestions.

The purpose of the research is to study the trends of transformation of forms of management in the Russian agro-industrial complex in the conditions of preserving the general contradictions of the development of small and large forms of management. The main objective is to analyze the Russian agro-industrial complex. The subject of the study is the forms of management and the trends of their development. The last two decades are considered as the main time horizon of the study. The study made it possible: firstly, to reveal a stable tendency towards the predominance of large farms in the structure of production and the dynamics of output volumes given the existing institutional factors; secondly, to determine scenario forecasts (conservative, basic and optimistic) of the main trends in the further development of small and large forms of management; thirdly, to show the influence of the phenomenon of a global pandemic on transformation processes in the Russian agro-industrial complex. The relevance of this study is since during the thirty years of the market transformation of the national system of agrarian relations, significant changes have occurred among the main economic entities: especially in the issues of the evolution of the content, motivation of activity, sustainability factors and classification criteria for economic entities engaged in the production of agricultural products. These processes are reflected in the solution of common strategic problems: issues of ensuring both national food security and global food security issues

The purpose of the research is to analyze the way of news information from the event to the screen, to identify the extent to which the use of new technologies affects the audience, to determine the role of a journalist, an editor, a video editor and a sound engineer in this chain, to prove the importance of verifying information. The research methodology is based on a comprehensive theoretical analysis and descriptive-analytical approach, which combines methods of observation, comparison and generalization. The method of theoretical analysis of television stories, scientific publications, as well as determining the role of each employee of the channel, who works on the release of information on the air. Scientific novelty is a detailed analysis of news content on television, determining aspects of interdependence, efficiency and reliability of information when submitting news. Conclusions. Trends in the dynamic development of television have led to significant transformation processes and the use of the latest technologies to influence the audience in news content. The article analyzes the work with information at different levels, elaborates on each stage of news verification, summarizes news factors, approach to writing news stories.

The pyrolytic behavior of organic matter inside nanopores was studied by simultaneous thermogravimetric/differential scanning calorimetry analyzer coupled with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (STA/TG-FTIR). Nanoporous silica was prepared by a hydrothermal method using long-chain alkyl quaternary ammonium bromide (CnTAB, n = 12, 14) as a template. The pyrolytic behavior of CnTAB inside nanopores with different diameters was investigated and compared with that of CnTAB inside and outside nanopores. The results showed that the pyrolytic removal process consisted of the following features: 1) CnTAB underwent carbon chain decomposition and oxidation; 2) the DSC exothermal peak of CnTAB came mainly from its oxidative combustion, and the oxidative combustion temperature decreased with increasing pore size; 3) the CnTAB inside nanopores underwent crystallization–amorphous state phase transition, and CnTAB got trapped inside the calcined nanopores. In addition, the pyrolytic behavior of CnTAB inside the calcined nanopores was found to be similar to that of the uncalcined nanopores. This study aims to understand the storage and transformation processes of organic hydrocarbons under nanopore-confinement effect.
