Energy resources are key to the economy. Firstly, any processes in the production sector are associated with energy consumption. Energy costs permeate all areas of material production, are the most important and integral part of both core and working capital. Secondly, energy resources are currently scarce and define the limits of economic development. At present, the issues of improving energy efficiency from the sectors of the economy are given great attention. For the implementation of programs to increase economic efficiency, the development of theoretical provisions and methodological foundations of energy economic assessment of production is of great importance, There is a variation in the energy equivalents per waste of production resources offered by standards for different types of energy. Considering energy issues in economic systems, economic energy is not found in the relevant classifications, but experts consider the allocation of such a category in the theory of economic development to be timely, and this category fully meets all economic indicators. To do this, it is necessary to determine the energy equivalent for each energy source. The article assumes the calculation of energy equivalents expressed by rational numbers. The use of energy equivalents allows you to move to a single measure of energy for all types. A single measure of energy allows you to move to a single international currency for financial and economic international cooperation.

The article deals with financial and economic meaning of bioenergy as an important component of the country’s energy security. The problem of transition to renewable energy sources, in particular biofuels, was investigated. The relevance of research is that biofuels can fully replace traditional energy resources, increase the level of economic efficiency of production and competitiveness of national economy, as well as reduce amount of harmful emissions into the environment. The purpose of research is to study and develop theoretical and practical principles of financial and economic development of bioenergy and its role in ensuring energy independence of Ukraine. In the context of financial and economic crisis and political instability, the development of bioenergy industry is of priority in dealing with main social and economic problems. One of the main aspects of bioenergy development is states’ concern and use of targeted state funding. Moreover, other perspective ways to implement bioenergy technologies in Ukraine are public private partnership and attraction of foreign direct investments. Economic assessment of different ways of full or partial replacement of natural gas has shown that they can be supplied with biomass, while the total capacity of introduced objects according to the bioenergy development program can save natural energy resources. According to the formula of the method of average medium, the forecast of optimistic and pessimistic scenario of energy potential development is developed. Energy independence of Ukraine can be ensured through effective implementation of alternative energy with full state support, which will lead to acceleration of economic development of the territories, increasing level of life of people and environmental security of the country.

Introduction. Modern conditions of the economic systems development are characterized by the growth of interdependencies at different aggregation levels and different types of relationships, their interconnection and increasing complexity of economic processes. These features predetermine the need of the complexity of research of causal relationships of economic systems development. Purpose. The article aims to justify the co-evolutionary dynamics of financial, institutional and economic development processes. Results. The study has identified the concept of co-evolution, financial, economic and institutional development. The interaction channels and propagation of corresponding dynamics impulses have been described. The causal relationships between different aspects of development processes have been revealed. The necessity of implementation of institutional reforms taking into account co-evolutionary connections of development processes has been substantiated.

Current assessments of sustainability are based on traditional indicators and need to be adjusted. The article analyzes the factors of environmental management efficiency and shows the interdependence of ecosystems’ state and economic development on example of the Baikal natural area. The development of economic activity in the region largely dependson the ability to use the water resources of the lake Baikal, which is experiencing a significant anthropogenic load, and the basis for the regulation of natural resources are prohibitive and restrictive mechanisms that do not take into account the interests of the local population. The article proposes approaches to improving the assessment of development, taking into account the socio-economic and environmental indicators of the Baikal natural area.

Exhaustion of traditional energy resources, their uneven geographical location, and catastrophic changes in the environment necessitate the transition to renewable energy resources. Moreover, Ukraine's economy is critically dependent on energy exports, and in some cases, the dependence is not only economic but also political, which in itself poses a threat to national security. One of the ways to solve this problem is the large-scale introduction and use of renewable energy resources, bioenergy in particular. The article summarizes and offers methods for assessing the energy potential of agriculture. In our country, a significant amount of biomass is produced every year, which remains unused. A significant part is disposed of due to incineration, which significantly harms the environment and does not allow earning additional funds. It is investigated that the bioenergy potential of agriculture depends on the geographical distribution and varies in each region of Ukraine. Studies have shown that as of 2019 the smallest share in the total amount of conventional fuel that can be obtained from agricultural waste and products suitable for energy production accounts for Zakarpattya region - 172.5 thousand tons. (0.5% of the total) and Chernivtsi region - 291.3 thousand tons. (0.9%). Poltava region has the greatest potential - 2652.2 thousand tons. (7.8%) and Vinnytsia - 2623.7 thousand tons. (7.7%). It should be noted that the use of the energy potential of biomass in Ukraine can be called unsatisfactory. The share of biomass in the provision of primary energy consumption is very small. For bioenergy to occupy its niche in the general structure of the agro-industrial complex, it is necessary to develop mechanisms for its stimulation. In addition, an effective strategy for the development of the bioenergy sector of agriculture is needed. The article considers the general energy potential of agriculture, its indicative structure. The analysis is also made in terms of areas. In addition, an economic assessment of the possible use of existing potential is identified.

AbstractIt has been argued that economic development and democracy create new opportunities and resources for women to access political power, which should increase gender equality in politics. However, empirical evidence from previous research that supports this argument is mixed. The contribution of this study is to expand the research on gender equality in politics through an in-depth examination of the effect of development and democracy on gender equality in cabinets. This has been completed through separate analyses that include most of the countries in the world across three levels of development (least-developed, developing, and developed) and across different types of political regimes (democracies, royal dictatorships, military dictatorships, and civilian dictatorships). The results demonstrate that economic development and democracy only affect gender equality in cabinets positively in a few environments. Accordingly, the context is important and there seem to be thresholds before development and democracy have any effect. Development has a positive effect in developed countries and in democracies, but it has a negative effect in dictatorships, and the negative effect is strongest in military dictatorships. The level of democracy has a positive effect mainly in dictatorships, and the strongest effect is in civilian dictatorships. The article demonstrates the importance of dividing samples into subsets to increase understanding of what affects women's representation in cabinets in different environments, and I ask scholars to subset samples and run separate analyses more often in comparative studies.

The paper seeks to identify the role of cultural and social diversity in economic development. It starts by defining the terms that are critical to the analysis, including diversity, fractionalization, polarization, social diversity, cultural diversity and economic resources, as well as providing the most significant indexes thereof. The main body of the paper interprets the notions of cultural and social diversity in terms of being a valuable economic resource. Furthermore, it collects a vast body of literature to demonstrate the relationship between the cultural/social diversity and economic development with regard to adverse or positive impact on the latter. In regard to the negative impact of diversity, the paper identifies it in the area of social communication, social capital and networks, as it effectively causes a decrease in productivity and increase in social conflict and isolation. The positive link is demonstrated with examples in the areas of innovation, creativity, usage of complementary abilities and experiences, and their role in increasing productivity. The paper refers to numerous data sources, studies and indexes illustrating how the economic systems of various countries perform in the context of the paper’s subject-matter.
