This study is aimed at identifying the types of students� errors made in EFL speaking class and what the kind of teacher�s correction This study used descriptive qualitative method and the informants of this research was the EFL students at second semester at the department of English education, Universitas Kuningan. Techniques of collecting data used in this study were observation, questionnaire, and interview. Ellis�s theory used to classify the teacher�s correction strategy used and Arias�s theory used to classify the students� errors type in EFL speaking class. The findings showed that there are five types of errors that made by the students, they are pronunciation, grammatical, lexical, semantic, and pragmatic. Pronunciation error was the most frequent error made by the students. While, there were strategies used by the teacher in correcting students� errors, they were recast, repetition, explicit correction, elicitation, and clarification request. Recast strategy was used by teacher as a frequent strategy. Keywords: teacher�s correction strategy; students� errors type; EFL speaking class.

This research attempts to find out students’ strategies to improve vocabularies size in Critical Reading class of second semester students at English Education Program of STKIP SoE. A descriptive qualitative method was used in this research. There were 21 students involved as the research participants and willing to be interviewed. The result of this research showed that students applied strategies, such as listening to the songs, watching movie, reading, and listing difficult words to improve their vocabularies. By applying those four strategies, students were able to understand vocabularies in context without any assistantship, understand the words in foreign language, repeat the words several times, describe the conversation in mother tongue, pick some words when reading books, remember the words that they get, and write down some difficult words.

This research was to find out: (1) the types of discourse markers used by the EFL students in argumentative text and (2) the functions of discourse markers used by the EFL students in argumentative text. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The respondents of this research were the second grade of EFL students; the total students were 30 students. The research data were collected by using an instrument namely writing activity. The writing consisted by argumentative text.  The data were analyzed qualitatively. The first important finding from this research was about the types of DMs used by the students’ in three kinds of different text, there are 30 types of DMs used by the students in the comparison and compare text and the second important finding was there are four category of functions used by the students in writing activity, they were contrastive markers, inferential markers, elaborative markers, and additional subclasses markers. Despite the fact that DMs can create a smooth talk or make the conversation more natural, the students should be able to use DMs wisely in term of fluency and coherence measured in the students’ writing.Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menemukan: (1) jenis pemarkah wacana yang digunakan oleh siswa dalam penulisan teks argumentatif dan (2) fungsi dari pemarkah wacana yang ada dalam penulisan teks argumentatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskripsi kualitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas dua dengan jumlah siswa ada 30 siswa. Data dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan sebuah instrumen yang bernama kegiatan menulis. Dalam kegiatan menulis ini menggunakan teks argumentatif, Data yang terkumpul dari kegiatan menulis ini kemudian akan di analisa secara kualitatif. Hal penting pertama yang telah ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis pemarkah wacana yang digunakan oleh siswa dalam tiga jenis teks yang berbeda, bahwa ada 30 jenis pemarkah wacana dalam teks argumentatif, Hal penting kedua yang telah ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada empat fungsi pemarkah wacana yang digunakan oleh siswa dalam kegiatan menulis, yaitu pemarkah perbedaan, pemarkah kesimpulan, pemarkah uraian, dan yang terakhir adalah pemarkah tambahan. Meskipun kenyataannya bahwa pemarkah wacana dapat membuat percakapan itu menjadi halus atau membuat percakapannya menjadi lebih lazim seperti kebiasaan, siswa seharusnya juga dapat menggunakan pemarkah wacana dengan bijak dalam kelancaran dan memperhatikan hubungan satu kata dengan kata lain dalam tulisan mereka.

Arsitektur lumbung padi Desa Sinabun dibuat sesuai dengan fungsi awal sebagai tempat menyimpan panen padi. Arsitektur lumbung padi di Desa Sinabun dibuat menggunakan ukuran-ukuran tradisional Bali. Tetapi sejak bulan Juni tahun 2016, lumbung padi di Desa Sinabun sudah tidak difungsikan sebagai tempat menyimpan hasil panen, tetapi sudah beralih fungsi menjadi tempat hunian. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk. (1) mengetahui kapan lumbung padi di Desa Sinabun berubah fungsinya dan (2) mengetahui bagian–bagian yang diubah pada arsitektur lumbung padi tradisional di Desa Sinabun. Ditinjau dari tujuan, penelitian ini menggunakan Metode deskriptif kualitatif serta unsur instrumen yang diguanakan berupa alat yaitu kamera hp, ceck list, tape recorder dan buku. Dari hasil penelitian langsung di lapangan ada tiga bagian lumbung padi yang mengalami perubahan, yaitu (1) Bagian kepala rangka atap (super struktur). (2) Bagian badan (upper struktur). (3) Bagian kaki (sub struktur). Kata Kunci : Arsitektur, Lumbung Padi, Desa Sinabun The architecture of the village granary of Sinabun was made in accordance with the initial function as a place to store the rice harvest. The architecture of the rice barn in the village of Sinabun was made by using traditional Balinese sizes. But since June 2016, the rice barn in the village of Sinabun had not been used as a place to store crops, but it was already switched function to a shelter. So, this study was aimed at (1) knowing when the rice barn in Sinabun Village changed its function and (2) knowing the revised parts of the traditional rice barn architecture in Sinabun Village. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative method and instruments used in the form of the tool were camera, Checklist and tape recorder. Based on the results of direct research, there were three parts of the rice barn that experienced a change, those were (1) The head of the roof frame (super structure), (2) Body parts (upper structure), and (3) Legs (sub-structures). keyword : Architecture, granary Rice, Sinabun Village

Abstract. This study was conducted to investigate the types of questions which were difficult in TOEFL-like and to find the students’ difficulties in answering the ‘Structure and Written Expression’ of TOEFL-like. The subjects of this study were the batch 5 students of Master of English Education (S2 MPBI) at STKIP PGRI Sidoarjo who had TOEFL-like test as the placement test in taking master’s degree. This research applied descriptive qualitative method. The instruments were students’ results of the TOEFL-like Test and interview. The data were taken from Longman Complete Course for the TOEFL written by Deborah Phillips (2003). The results show that there are 18 items (45%) categorized ‘difficult’. Meanwhile, there are 22 items (55%) categorized into ‘very difficult’. There are several reasons of students’ difficulties in answering the ‘Structure and Written Expression’ on the TOEFL-like done as the placement test. First, there was no preparation in advance. Second, students lack of vocabulary. Third, the test was considered difficult because the students took the TOEFL-like for the first time. Lastly, there was a limited time provided.Keywords: students’ difficulty, Structure and Written Expression, TOEFL-likeAbstrak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis soal yang sulit dalam TOEFL-like dan untuk mengetahui kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menjawab 'Structure and Written Expression' dari TOEFL-like. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Batch 5 program Magister Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris (S2 MPBI) STKIP PGRI Sidoarjo yang mengikuti tes TOEFL-like sebagai tes penempatan dalam mengambil gelar magister. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Tes TOEFL-like dan wawancara. Pengumpulan data diambil dari Longman Complete Course untuk TOEFL yang ditulis oleh Deborah Phillips. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 18 soal (45%) yang dikategorikan 'sulit'. Sementara itu, terdapat 22 soal (55%) yang dikategorikan 'sangat sulit'. Ada beberapa alasan kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menjawab 'Structure and Written Expression' pada TOEFL-like seperti yang dilakukan saat tes penempatan. Pertama, tidak ada persiapan sebelumnya. Kedua, kurangnya penguasaan kosakata. Ketiga, tes dianggap sulit karena mahasiswa baru pertama kali mengikuti TOEFL-like. This research focuses on students' English speaking problems, and this research aims to find out the most dominant problem of speaking in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) situation faced by the students of English Departement at Tidar University. The research method used in this research is the qualitative method. The writer uses a questionnaire as a tool for data collection. From the questionnaire, the problems that most dominant faced by the English education students of the English Department at Tidar University is Linguistic problems. Linguistic problems include less grammar, lack of vocabulary, and poor pronunciation. The next is psychological problems include, including lack of self-confidence, anxiety, and shyness. Meanwhile, instructor related problems did not have much effect on speaking problems for the students. In conclusion, Linguistic problems are the most dominant problem faced by the English education students of the English Department at Tidar University.

Implicature was refers to implied meaning in utterance that can be understood by indirectly expression. In informal conversation was occurred the hidden meaning of what actually said by the speakers.  This study was investigated the types of implicature in informal conversations used by the English education study program students.  The study was aimed to analyze the types of implicature and how the implicature is carried out in the informal conversations.  The method of study was a descriptive qualitative method.  The subjects of this study were 25 students of English study program who have informal conversation. The students’ conversation was transcribed and analyzed by using checklist instrument. The results was shown that 1) there were three types of implicature found in the informal conversations; conventional implicature, generalized conversational implicature and particularized conversational implicature, and 2) the implicature is carried out in the informal conversations by the used of generalized conversational implicature and particularized conversational implicature. Moreover, a conclusion is students in the informal conversation have potentially implicature that indicates that their utterance has implied meaning. The suggestions, the study about implicature should be conducted in different area such as movie, drama or others, to give enrichment information in the Pragmatics study.

This study discusses how to determine the Margin Murabaha in the purchase or financing agreement, what constraints faced in the determination of Margin, what efforts are made in the implementation of Murabahah agreement on the financing of non-bank housing and how the consumer response to the application of murabahah contract in Puri Nirana Cigelam. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by using primary data and secondary data. The result of the research shows that margin acceptance in murabahah agreement based on agreement, the agreement is 10%, in reality the margin obtained in every year is less than 10%. There is no constraint in determining the margin in the murabaha scheme that has been implemented in Puri Nirana Cigelam, Murabahah scheme implementation in the financing of non-bank house in Puri Nirana Cigelam is signing the agreement of both parties between the developers who sell the house and the consumer who bought the house with the clarity of price and payment flat as well as the margin or profit setting that both parties agree on. Consumer response to the implementation of murabahah agreement in Puri Nirana Cigelam castle that many agree and good, average, so the existence of Puri Nirana Cigelam, akad applied in Puri Nirana Cigelam, Islamic Concepts and Value Syari'ah and facilities provided by the PNC is the reason consumers choose to buy housing in Puri Nirana Cigelam.

The Pancasila Sakti Monument in Lubang Buaya, Jakarta is one of the tourism identities of DKI Jakarta, many efforts have been made in developing the preservation and preserving the cultural assets that are still left in the Pancasila Sakti Monument in Lubang Buaya. The purpose of this research is to determine the potential development of tourism objects in Pancasila Sakti Monument in Lubang Buaya by analyzing the historical values ​​and uniqueness. This study used a descriptive qualitative method that describes the information of the Tourism Object from the Pancasila Sakti Monument in Lubang Buaya. Data collection techniques used were interviews, literature study, observation, and documentation. The data collection was analyzed and grouped based on the research problems. The results of this study indicate that the Tourism Object namely Pancasila Sakti Monument in Lubang Buaya is one of the tourism objects that have the potential to be developed in DKI Jakarta.

Anime is known by the people of Indonesia as an animation made in Japan. Whereas in Japan itself, the word “anime” is used to refer to any animated film, regardless of where the origin of the anime is. Anime is liked by many Indonesians because the visual characters of anime are considered to be very interesting such as big eyes, colorful hair, etc. Anime lovers, also called otaku, usually spend their time watching anime. Anime can be used as an informal learning media that uses the senses of sight and hearing or it is called audio visual. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method and data collection through quotation of words from the anime Barakamon, an adaptation of the manga that was composed and illustrated by Satsuki Yoshino. This anime’s genre is comedy, slice of life. This study aims to provide more knowledge about anime as a media for learning Japanese, especially about common expressions such as pronouns, greetings, apologies, and expressions of thanks.

The purpose of this study is to find out the teacher strategies in teaching reading comprehension at the first-grade students at SMA Inshafuddin Banda Aceh. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The participants of this research is the first grade students of SMA Inshafuddin Banda Aceh that consist of 30 students. The instruments of collecting the data used in this study is a questionnaire. The objectives of this research were to know the students’ responses of the teacher strategies in teaching reading comprehension. In this research, the result revealed that that the students’ responses toward the teacher strategies in teaching reading comprehension it showed positive responses.
