Abstract: Total quality management is a management approach with the goal to achieve customer satisfactionthrough product, service, and organizational culture improvement. ISO 9000 is a set of international standards thatis developed for achieving an effective quality management system in order to satisfy customer needs. The concept oflean production is described as a systematic approach to reduce the number of defect products, and reduce the sizeof the warehouse, without lowering productivity. Six sigma includes tools, and techniques for improving processesregarding quality, and reducing the number of defect products. In this paper the differences, and similarities of totalquality management, ISO 9001, lean production, and six sigma, will be investigated. The paper presents the criteriafor successful implementation, and use of the mentioned concepts in various companies. The amount of risk thateach concept brings is also evaluated. The goal of the paper is an analytic approach, and a concise description ofquality management systems, and business performance imrpovement.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to develop a total quality management (TQM) model for healthcare organisations and validate it using a sample of Iranian healthcare organisations. Design/methodology/approach – A validated questionnaire was used to collect data from all healthcare organisations that implemented TQM in Isfahan province, Iran. Findings – Using the proposed model, TQM implementation was measured in healthcare organisations. The level of TQM success in Isfahan healthcare organisations was medium. The highest score was achieved in the dimension of “customer management”, followed by “leadership” and “employee management”. Employee management, information management, customer management, process management and leadership had the most positive effect on TQM success. Using a series of quality management techniques had “synergistic” effect on TQM success. Practical implications – Top management support, effective management of human resources, full involvement of the entire workforce including physicians, education and training, team working, continuous improvement, a corporate quality culture, customer focus and using a combination of management techniques under a quality management system are necessary for TQM successful implementation. Originality/value – A healthcare context-specific model of TQM was developed and tested and suggestions were provided for its successful implementation.

AbstractImplementation of ISO Quality Management System (QMS) at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim (Maliki) Malang shows the spirit of the modernization of the campusmanagement system. This research is focused on thecomparative analysis of the implementation of ISO QMS, the role of Standard of BANPTandapplicationofTQMinUINMalikiMalang.Theapproachusedisqualitativeresearch,withdatacollectiontechniquessuchasinterviews,observationanddocumentstudy.Thisresearchfindsthat,amongothers,UIN’sleadersandinternalstakeholdershavesoughttoimplementtheclausesofISOQMScorrectlyandconsistently;andandincreasetheinvolvement of academicians in sustainable campus quality improvementefforts. Implementation of QMS ISO becomesa medium to fulfill the Standard of BANPTas wellas the foundation for the implementation of TQM.

The Total Quality Management System (TQM) is an integrated management approach that aims to continuously improve the performance of services and exceed the expectations of associates. The study aimed at determining the impact of the application of the Total Quality Management (TQM) system in improving performance in the Cooperative of State Employees (CSE) in Lebanon. The study also aimed at building a conceptual framework that can be used as a guide in formulating an effective approach that enables high management in the Cooperative of State Employees (CSE) to successfully implement a Total Quality Management (TQM) system. The study sample consisted of employees in the Cooperative of State Employees (CSE). To verify the study hypotheses, a five-point Likert style questionnaire was constructed and distributed among the sample to measure and reveal the impact of implementing the TQM system on improving the performance of the CSE. The results of the study showed that implementing the TQM system has a critical role in improving the financial performance of the CSE, while it has no impact of significance on improving managerial performance at the CSE.

Total Quality management (TQM) is a philosophy management method, the importance of which continuously has been growing after '90. There is relatively short time since Kosovo Public Institutions are practically doing their activity as a part of an independent Country, and as such day by day they are facing with different management challenges which continuously are becoming more rough and tough towards the EU integration process. Total Quality Management within Public Institutions, is leaded by the phase of establishment and implementation of Quality management Systems based on ISO 9001. In this process, through a deep empiric study in three Kosovo Public Institutions, we have tried to identify the advantage and disadvantage factors towards the successful implementation of quality management system in time, as a consequence of TQM. Moreover, we were focused on the organizational culture. Analyses over norms, trusts, principals that do characterize the organizational culture of Kosovo Institutions, its crossing with the political context and the Public Administration law will serve to model changes that should be projected in order to successfully implement the TQM. In the function of the disadvantage factor analyses, organizational cultural elements, and the changes model, there will be used a number questionnaires and interviews with relevant people.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil, implementasi, dan evaluasi sistem manajemen mutu pada SMK di Propinsi Aceh. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif kuantitatif (mixed method). Data dikumpulkan melalui interview, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan EFAS, IFAS, dan SPACE Matriks. Adapun Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan yang dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas 3 (tiga belas) SMK yang tersebar di wilayah Propinsi Aceh yang dipilih secara purposive sampling.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil sistem manajemen mutu SMK di Propinsi Aceh dinyatakan melalui pernyataan visi, misi, tujuan, kebijakan, kerja sama dengan dunia usaha dan industri, dan unit produksi sekolah.Sekolah merujuk pada standar mutu ISO 9001 2008 dan Akreditas Nasional. Implementasi manajemen mutu tercermin melalui komitmen pimpinan puncak manajemen, peran tim pengembang sekolah, penyelenggaraan program, strategi, dan pelatihan, keterlibatan karyawan, perbaikan terus menerus, penerapan standar kualitas, komunikasi, serta kepuasan pelanggan. Evaluasi dilakukan secara terus menerus melalui audit internal dan eksternal sekolah, evaluasi diri sekolah dan instrumen pengawas.Kata kunci: manajemen mutu, sekolah menengah  kejuruan THE IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS ORGANIZATION 9001 2008 SYSTEM IN VOCATIONAL SCHOOLSAbstractThis study aims to describe and analyze the profile, implementation, and evaluation of Total Quality Management (TQM) at Vocational Schools (SMK) in Aceh, Indonesia. The study was descriptive qualitative-quantitative (mixed method research). Data was collected through observations, interviews, and documentary study, and analyzed through IFAS, EFAS, and SPACE matrix. The results showed that the schools’ profiles comprising their visions, missions, school resources, policies, the cooperation with the world of work, and schools’ production units. TQM implementation was executed through top-management leadership, management commitment, the role of quality department, training and education, employee involvement, continuous improvement, supplier partnership, product/service design, quality policies, quality data and reporting, communication to improve quality, and customer satisfaction orientation and employee relations. The evaluation was conducted continuously by involving the internal and external auditors, the schools’ self-evaluation and the supervisors’ instruments. The ISO 9001:2008 quality management system is one of the implementation forms of total quality management (TQM) concept. This total quality management system requires an organization to have standards such as resource management standards, product realization, measurement and evaluation, and documentation system. The purpose of ISO 9001:2008 quality management systemis toimprovecustomer satisfaction by fulfilling customer requerements through complete facilities, profesional teachers, achievement improvement and many others. This research used qualitative approach with field research design. The results obtained that performance of theachers in SMA Darul Ulum 2 Unggulan BPPT Jombang has a good predicate and implementation of ISO 9001:2008 quality management system run well with the commitment of school principals and all the citizens of the school, and take the field. the ISO allows teachers to continue to learn and improve performance. That is also supported by commitment from high school princupals and high schoolcommunity by continuously improving the quality of work and there is a complete facility to facilitate school activities. so far, not many obstacles are heavy when schools use the ISO 9001:2008 management system, it just takes adjustment for each member to use this ISO management system.

Abstract: The Implementation of Total Quality Management in Waqf Management of the Dompet Dhuafa. This article raises issues about the total quality management (TQM) in waqf management. TQM is a major issue in management, especially for large companies, in a framework to increase the quality of product output and to satisfy customers. TQM nowadays is not only adopted by profit oriented companies but also non-profit institutions. For example, the Dompet Dhuafa has achieved Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008 certification. This article concludes that the implementation of TQM in waqf management of the Dompet Dhuafa is relatively advanced since it gives serious attention to customers, both external dan internal. Similarly with process improvement and total involvement, Dompet Duafa  points to enthusiasm of planned and structured improvement as well as involving all elements of the organization comprehensively.Keywords: waqf, total quality management, waqf managementAbstrak: Implementasi Total Quality Management dalam Pengelolaan Wakaf  di Dompet Dhuafa. Tulisan ini mengangkat isu tentang total quality management (TQM) dalam pengelolaan wakaf. TQM merupakan salah satu terobosan manajemen yang umumnya dilakukan oleh perusahaan besar dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas produk yang pada muaranya dapat memuaskan konsumen.  TQM tidak hanya diadopsi oleh lembaga-lembaga yang berorientasi pada keuntungan material (profit oriented) namun juga lembaga-lembaga yang berbasis non profit (non-profit oriented). Salah satunya adalah Dompet Dhuafa yang telah berhasil meraih sertifikat Sistem Manajemen Mutu ISO 9001:2008. Tulisan ini menyimpulkan bahwa Implementasi nilai TQM dalam pengelolaan wakaf di Dompet Dhuafa dapat dikatakan relatif maju karena perhatian lembaga ini kepada pelanggan, baik eksternal maupun internal, cukup bagus. Begitu pula dalam hal perbaikan proses dan keterlibatan total, Dompet Dhuafa menunjukkan semangat perbaikan yang terencana dan terstruktur serta melibatkan semua elemen organisasi secara komprehensif.Kata Kunci: wakaf, total quality management, manajemen wakafDOI: 10.15408/ajis.v12i1.983
