Environmental problems are still an important issue and cannot be resolved completely until now, even after the 1970s the United Nations established a world environmental day. Plastic waste is considered the most responsible for the problems of environmental damage today. Therefore, an innovation that comes from biodegradable material, with its biodegradable product is considered to be the answer to this environmental problem. This study examines how reporting on the environment is framed in online mass media, especially in relation to biodegradable material and biodegradable products. This is qualitative research, with the object of two Indonesian online news sites, namely www.detik.com and www.okezone.com. Data collection techniques used is document studies and data analysis techniques employed is Robert N. Entman's Framing analysis model which involves four elements, namely: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgment, and treatment recommendation. The findings of this study are that environmental issues have not dominated online media coverage, and the biodegradable issue has not been framed thoroughly by online media.

Islam has been known as a religion of Rahmatn lil’alamiin which guarantees inclusion and maintains a treatise on all humanity. However, the interpretation of universality of Islam does not meet a common understanding even though within Muslim community itself. Those diverse interpretations have resulted in how the universality of Islam has been expressed. One of those quarrels toward interpretation is the discussion of Islam Nusantara. West Sumatera is one of the regions in Indonesia which implements Islamic law as its customary law in which rejection against Islam Nusantara has been echoed across the borders. The rejection caused reactions from various parties since West Sumatera strongly stated the rejection as a way for preserving it. Those dispute has been sharpened by the online news in several Indonesian media that began to raise the phenomenon up. This research aim to find out how those medias frame the news and whether online media contribute on minimizing public tensions. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach. The source of the data focused on Indonesian online media news on 2018 and was analyzed with framing analysis from Robert N. Entman and also using the concept of treatment recommendation as an analyzes of dispute resolution. The results discovered that media with its framing analysis technique has their own moral judgement and treatment recommendation as a form of dispute resolution towards discourses in the media. This moral judgment can show the tendency and alignment of a media regarding an issue. In addition, the media also has an important role in developing the audience’s mindset in the midst of dispute it can be analyzed from the treatment recommendation that can be used as a media based dispute resolution.

The ratification of the Job Creation Law in early November 2020 created a lot of polemics in the society, this leads the news in the online media to have their own views in reviewing typos related to the content in the Job Creation Act. This study aims to unravel the results of media framing from a certain topic by reviewing news coverage by two different online news channels in the same upload period on November 3rd, 2020. The news reconstruction of journalists' points of view creates a gap between empirical truth and public awareness so readers can follow the media thought. The framing analysis was carried out on two news channels, namely CNBC Indonesia and Nasional Tempo, which reported typos in the writing of the Job Creation Law from a different point of view. The method used in this study is from Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki framing analysis model using four structures, namely Syntax, Script, Thematic, and Rhetorical. The results of this study indicate that media coverage of CNBC Indonesia tends to be in line with the government, while the Tempo National media constructs news coverage with a more critical tone. Additionally, other factors in the form of ownership and interests could also affect news framing. This is based on the fact that there is a trend of media conglomeration in Indonesia which can have certain implications for the news content.

Dynastic politics has always been an issue that has attracted public attention to be discussed during the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) process. This is because in reality there is a tendency in many regional heads to try to build dynastic politics. The simultaneous Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in 2020 is quite interesting with several candidates emerging from the family of President Jokowi. This study aims to determine how online media of kompas.com and okezone.com in framing news about dynastic politics in the 2020 Pilkada. To achieve this goal, this study uses a qualitative research method, where the author uses the framing analysis model of Robert N. Entmant. The object of this research is news regarding the politics of President Jokowi's dynasty, in online media kompas.com and okezone.com. The data collection technique used literature study. The results of the analysis of this study present news about dynastic politics in the 2020 Pilkada. In the results of the news framing analysis using the Robert N. Entman model, there are several stages such as problem definition, problem estimation from problem sources, moral decision making, and problem solving. The news on kompas.com clearly highlighted news that was contra or disagreeable with the existence of dynastic politics in Indonesia, especially in the 2020 Pilkada, while the news on okezone.com clearly did not question the existence of dynastic politics in the 2020 Pilkada. The victory of the two PDI-Perjuangan candidates is part of the General Chair's commitment to ensure that his party leads to produce quality young leadership. Of course, the imbalance in the selection of sources in the news is very important so that people who see it can provide a more objective opinion of the news.

An investigative reporting has changed quite rapidly in the last few periods after the development of information technology. It can be in the form of direct observation under investigation (disguising) or the disclosure of new facts that have not been revealed before. The online news media in Indonesia, although it relies on the speed, also still takes into account the accuracy and rules of journalism, especially in the coverage of investigations. This study explores the Indonesian Ulema Council’s polemic coverage about the concept of Islam Nusantara through online media framing analysis. To look at online media framing, I use qualitative methods with Robert N. Etnman’s framing study that examines two things: selecting issues and the emphasis or promotion of certain aspects. The analysis contained four concepts: defining problems, diagnosing causes, making a moral judgment, and treatment recommendations. The results showed that three online media gave rise to a variety of news reports. Detiknews.com brings up news about scholars’ polemic in the Indonesian Ulema Council area behind Islam Nusantara’s concept eight times, CNNIndonesia.com five times, and Kompas.com three times. Interpretations of the three online media have different attitudes. Detiknews.com in framing can not be said to be neutral, but there has been a bit of a splash of neutrality by displaying statements as a bit of a counterparty, although dominated by pre-party views. CNNIndonesia.com is more impressed to provoke the public to respond to the construction of reality in framing because many use the election diction provocative title. Kompas.com is more neutral compared to Detiknews.com and CNNIndonesia.com. Kompas media tends to use the principle of cover both sides, and the news is more in the form of articles or public opinion.

This paper examines the differences between Tirto.id and Republika.co.id in framing reporting on the causes of the crash of the Lion Air JT-610 plane on October 29, 2018. This research is a qualitative study using Robert M. Entman's four-stage framing analysis, namely define problems, define causes, make moral statement, and treatment recommendation. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in framing between the three online media in reporting a disaster. Tirto.id focuses more on the professionalism of Lion Air's management, while Republika.co.id focuses more on the news about the cause of the crash of the Lion Air JT-610 plane because the Lion Air JT-610 aircraft is the latest release. This proves that every newsroom has a certain standard in applying the principles of disaster journalism.

Religion issue recently gets much attention in Indonesian media coverage. A Rally named ‘212 alumni reunion’ to celebrate the anniversary of a previous rally that demanded the prosecution of then Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama after he was accused of blasphemy became national-wide coverage of national media. By using the framing analysis method, this article tries to illustrate how an online media, detik.com, have or have not applied journalism principal in coveting that religious issue. The result of the study shows that detik.com have done media function because it has applied media principle of neutrality. This research did not find any subjective opinion and political interest in the text. Besides that, detik.com was more focusing on the using of ‘what’ element of news as well as the ‘who’ element for describing the issue more objectively.

Informal chatter has always been part of the scientific community, but with the emergence of online blogs these casual debates have become public. Here, I present a case study of how blog information influenced the online news frames during the December 2010 coverage of the arsenic-based life study. The results show how media frames were homogeneous and transformed abruptly from a positive ‘Gee Whiz’ frame towards a critical frame and lastly to a meta media frame over the course of a few days. From beginning to end, the blogosphere heavily influenced the news content, use of sources and spread of information between news outlets. Such rapid and uncontrollable influence of blogosphere information on online news coverage can be explained theoretically as an example of science grapevine communication.

The background of the problem in this research is how three online media, CNNIndonesia.com, Republika.co.id, and Tempo.co, framed speeches containing the words “blind” and “deaf” delivered by the candidates for Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. K.H. Ma’ruf Amin on Saturday, November 10 2018 in the presence of Barisan Nusantara (BarNus) volunteers. The three media were chosen based on the argumentation about the diversity of ideologies they held. This research method uses framing analysis proposed by Robert N. Entman. The data obtained were analyzed in four stages, that is define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgement, and treatment recommendation. The results show that CNNIndonesia.com focuses more on the responses that arise from the community, especially people with disabilities; while Republika.co.id stated that the meaning of Ma’ruf Amin’s words did not refer to people with disabilities; and Tempo.co tended to be impartial by presenting neutral news.
