Halal certification within the scope of modern society as it is today raises a bit of concern for some products that do not have a halal certificate. When reviewed in fiqh books, we will find al-tahrîm wal ihlâl haqqullâh wahdah. This is studied descriptively and qualitatively. There are three problems related to the issue of halal labeling which so far the rights are in the hands of the MUI. First, is the political problem caused by labeling itself. Second, is a religious issue. Third, related to economic matters. Ketiga, menyangkut soal ekonomi

The recent nationwide debate of American Protestant churches over the ordination and consecration of LGBTQ clergymen and laypeople has been largely divisive and destructive. While a few studies have paid attention to individual efforts of congregations to negotiate the heated conflicts as their contribution to the denominational debate, no studies have recounted how post-1965 immigrants, often deemed as “ethnic enclaves apart from larger American society”, respond to this religious issue. Drawing on an ethnographic study of a first-generation Korean Methodist church in the Tampa Bay area, Florida, this article attempts to fill this gap in the literature. In brief, I argue that the Tampa Korean-American Methodists’ continual exposure to the Methodist Church’s larger denominational homosexuality debate and their personal relationships with gay and lesbian friends in everyday life together work to facilitate their gradual tolerance toward sexual minorities as a sign of their accommodation of individualistic and democratic values of American society.

Europe has been experiencing crisis caused by migrations, especially from Africa and the Middle East. This is not only an economic problem, but a cultural, social, and religious issue as well. Therefore, a proper approach to migration cannot overlook the broadly understood religiousness and spirituality. Rooted in the Christian experience, Europe cannot ignore the significant message of the Word of God and the teaching of the Church on migration and its various dimensions. Thus, Catholics and other Christians are required to care for their own spirituality, create the culture of coming together that leads to peace, and stay open to ecumenical and interreligious dialogue which fosters exchange of spiritual gifts. Protection of family and support to integral development of human life are special areas where people can join forces and work together. This requires proper formation and being open toGod’s help.

This study examines how Rohingya refugees in Aceh in 2015-2016 received assistance and the role of Islamic philanthropic institutions in providing aid. The paper shows that through the media, Islamic philanthropic institutions have successfully advocated for Rohingya rights and raised the issue as a religious issue so that they have collected large donations. Also, this paper finds a discrepancy between the information conveyed by the media and the reality in the field, showing significant efforts in the commodification of humanitarian aid and abuse of religion.[Artikel ini membahas bagaimana pengungsi Rohingya di Aceh periode 2015-2016 mendapatkan bantuan dan peran dari lembaga filantropi Islam dalam penyediaan bantuan tersebut.

The current trend of secularization seems to be leading to a gradual withdrawal of religion from public spaces. However, in an increasingly internationalized world, it is becoming more and more important to study the roles of religion and religiosity and their potential in relation to dialogue and social conflicts and tensions. Education is a vital field within which to address this religious issue and create an educational dialogue in order to promote coexistence. By following a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study, based on a quasi-experimental methodology with a social–analytical character, our aim is to assess the existing connections between religion, interrelation and opinion in Spanish children and adolescents. Special attention is paid to the interaction between age and beliefs. We carried out our study with the use of a questionnaire distributed to eleven secondary schools, with students aged between 11 and 16 years old, in three regions of southern Spain (Andalusia, Ceuta, and Melilla) characterized by high religious diversity and multiculturalism. The multivariate analysis carried out in this study identifies the effects of variance on the influence of age and religion, highlighting the interaction between the two. It is observed that the youngest students are those who express their opinions about religion the least, while those belonging to younger age groups and majority religions are those who express a greater religious coexistence, with Muslims externalizing their religious condition the most.

Secularisation processes under way in the present-day Europe take us back to the times when Europe’s religious unity had been destroyed and the countries were seeking to restore it. As, for instance, it was in the times of King Louis XIV The analysis of the French way to the resolution of this religious issue may lead us to the answer to the present-day challenges, extrapolating historic experience to modern realities. If we look back at the historic experience, we may realize the necessity to restore the authority of the national church.

n this paper, of a bibliographic nature, the way Paulo Freire used “ethics” as the founding principle of his reflections, problematizations and arguments on the insertion of religious social work in the heart of Latin American social relations is analyzed. The following works were examined under the lens of the Archaeological Discourse Analysis, based on Foucault (2000): Cultural action for freedom, 1981 Brazilian edition; Education: the practice of freedom, 1967 Brazilian edition; Pedagogy of the oppressed, 1987 Brazilian edition; Extension or communication?, 1983 Brazilian edition; and Os cristãos e a libertação dos oprimidos, 1978 edition. It is highlighted that Paulo Freire’s understanding of ethical and religious issues does not only hold a specific way of being, as ethics works as a parameter for critical analysis of different social and historical manifestations on the religious issue and its relationship with the people. It is concluded that the meaning of the notion and the use of the signifier “ethics” as a principle of criticality is recurrent in the argument, in the positioning and in the Freirean discursive order.
