The Effectiveness of A Program Based on The Theory of Successful Intelligence in The Development of Creative Reading Skills of Sixth Grade Students: فاعلية برنامج قائم على نظرية الذكاء الناجح في تنمية مهارات القراءة الإبداعية لدى طالبات الصف السادس الابتدائي

The current study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a program based on the theory of successful intelligence in developing creative reading skills among sixth grade students. To this end, the researcher has used the experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design for the two equivalent experimental and control groups. She has also used the following tools and materials; (1) a list of creative reading skills to be developed, (2) an achievement test to measure the creative reading skills, and (3) teacher's manual. The researcher has also validated the data collection tools and administered them on a random sample of the sixth-grade female students in the schools in Al-Rass governorate (N=60); 30 students for each group. Findings of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the experimental and control groups students' skills in the post -tests scores of creative reading skills for the benefit of the experimental group students who studied using the program based on the theory of the successful intelligence. The results also showed a significant positive impact of the program based on the theory of successful intelligence in developing the creative reading skills of the experimental group students. In light the previous findings, the researcher provided many recommendations and the most major ones were to take care of developing creative reading skills for different stages particularly the elementary stage, to use the program based on the theory of successful intelligence as it was found effective in developing the creative reading skills, and to hold training programs for Arabic language teachers and supervisors to orient them how to best employ the theory of successful intelligence in teaching and clarify its role in developing creative reading skills.

This study investigated the effects of Entrepreneur Invention Society - an experienced-based instructional intervention - on children's knowledge of entrepreneurship and on their perceptions of business locus of control. 193 sixth-grade students, randomly assigned to eight classes, participated in the study; there were 95 males and 98 females. 101 of the participants were in the experimental group and 92 were in the control. The experimental group experienced the curriculum for a total of 30 hours over three months. The goal of the intervention was to integrate the process of invention with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of entrepreneurship. The control group spent an equivalent amount of time participating in science education units on inventors and the invention process. The experimental and control groups were post-tested on knowledge of entrepreneurship and business locus of control, both of which were impacted positively by Entrepreneur Invention Society. No significant gender differences were found. The discussion highlights the importance of instructional interventions that appear to be effective in enhancing entrepreneurship concept acquisition as well as internal locus of control.

In physical education learning activities, motivational factors become one of the key activeness of students in moving. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a technical approach using techniques to motivate teaching by invitation to learning motivation in physical education learning. This research is a quasi-experimental study involving the dick group consisting of 25 students (12 male and 13 female) and the experimental group consisting of 23 students (11 male and 12 female). The instrument used was a motivation questionnaire with a reliability score of alpha Cronbah 0.896. The results showed that there were significant differences between the experimental and control groups with a t value of 3.022 and a significance of 0.004 0.05. The technique of motivating teaching by invitation effectively can increase student motivation in participating in physical education learning. AbstrakPada kegiatan pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani (penjas), faktor motivasi menjadi salah satu kunci keaktifan siswa dalam bergerak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan teknis menggunakan teknik memotivasi teaching by invitation terhadap motivasi belajar dalam pembelajaran penjas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan melibatkan kelompok kontrol sebanyak 25 siswa (12 laki-laki dan 13 perempuan) dan kelompok eksperimen terdiri dari 23 siswa (11 laki-laki dan 12 perempuan). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket motivasi dengan reliabilitas skor alpha Cronbah 0.896. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan nilai t hitung 3,022 dan signifikansi 0,004 0,05. Teknik memotivasi teaching by invitation secara efektif mampu meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran penjas.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of animal therapy in alleviation of anxiety in pre-school children.Method: The study was carried out as a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test design and control group. The study population consisted of 33 anxious 5-7years old children (participated in a welfare anxiety screening plan held by Counseling Center, Tehran-Iran) between 2018 and 2019. The participants took part in the study voluntarily.The subjects were randomly divided into experimental and control groups (10 in each group). The experimental group was exposed to 8 sessions of animal therapy. The research instrument was Spence Preschool Anxiety Scale (Parent Form) and the data were analyzed on SPSS 21 software.Results: The results showed that animal therapy had a significant effect on general anxiety score after adjusting for post-test scores (f= 32.49 and p= 0.001) with the effect equal to 0.70. In addition, the effect of animal therapy on anxiety of separation (f= 5.63, p= 0.03), generalized anxiety disorder (f= 8.56, p= 0.01), social phobia (f= 14.58, p= 0.002) and specific anxiety (f= 11.63, p= 0.005) was significant with effects equal to 0.30, 0.40, 0.53, and 0.47, respectively. The results also showed that the effect of animal therapy on obsession was not significant (p>0.05).Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that Animal therapy is effective in alleviating anxiety in children.

The study aimed to examine the effectiveness of using the overlapping waves strategy during the teaching of geography lessons in acquiring realistic thinking skills and improving the attitudes towards geography in a sample of sixth grade students in Jordan using the quasi-experimental method. The purposive method was used to select the study sample (n = 64) students, who were randomly assigned either to the experimental group (n = 32), taught geography lessons with the overlapping waves strategy method, or the control group (n = 32), taught  geography lessons with the usual method. The Realistic Thinking Skills Test (RTT) was prepared with its three dimensions, as well as the attitudes towards Geography Scale (AGS). After verifying their validity and validity, the two instruments were applied to the sample as pre post intervention. The results of the statistical analysis indicated that there were statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) in the post test between the mean of the experimental group and the control group scores on the Realistic Thinking Skills Scale (RTS) and the Attitudes towards Geography Scale (AGS) in favor of the experimental group, indicating the efficiency of using the overlapping waves strategy used in the current study in geography teaching.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of using the Multi-Sensory Approach for teaching students with learning disabilities on the sixth grade students' achievement in mathematics at Jordanian public schools. To achieve the purpose of the study, a pre/post-test was constructed to measure students' achievement in mathematics. The test consisted of twenty items on mathematics. The sample of the study comprised (117) sixth grade students in Ruqaya bent Al Rasoul School for girls and Fatima bent el Yaman school for girls in Irbid the first directorate of Education and was distributed into four sections, which were selected purposefully. The sample of the study was divided into four groups (two experimental and two control groups). The experimental group was taught using multi-sensory approach while the control group was taught using the current approach. The sample of the study was (62) students in the experimental group and (55) students in the control group. Those groups were distributed into four purposefully selected sections in Ruqaya bent Al Rasoul School for girls and Fatima bent el Yaman school for girls in Irbid the first directorate of Education. Descriptive statistical analyses were used (Means and Standard Deviation) for the pre and post- tests of students' mathematics test to experimental and control groups. The findings of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the post- test between the control and the experimental groups in favor of the experimental group. The researcher proposed some recommendations to enhance the importance of parental involvement on students' achievement in English language such as conducting further studies on other populations and for a longer time.

Abstract: The importance of language and its formal instruction during the initial school phase has stimulated studies that seek options to implement them successfully. From this perspective, this study aimed to verify the effects of an intervention program on the language skills assessed. The participants were sixth-grade elementary school students evaluated in reading comprehension, spelling, word recognition and metatextual awareness. The intervention program was performed with 103 students, divided into experimental (EG) and control groups (CG). The experimental group attended 10 sessions, which included the use of gradual Cloze technique in texts of various textual genres, which were intended to develop the reading comprehension and the development of metatextual awareness. Analyses indicated the superiority of EG over the CG in the post-test. New studies are needed to permit the generalization of the results.

The current study aimed at identifying the effect of dramatizing the teaching unit of Beni Abbas Caliphs in 6th grade History of Arabs and Muslims Textbook on improving students' achievement as well as enhancing their social interactional skills. In order to achieve the objectives of the study,three instruments were developed: dramatizing a teaching unit (namely: Beni Abbas Caliphs), a 25-item achievement test, and a social interactional skills scale. All three research instruments were subjected to validity and reality testing. The present study adopted a quasi-experimental design which entailed an experimental group (N = 46) and a control group (N = 44) from DairAlla directory of Education in the academic year 2011/2012. The study reported statistical significant differences in participants' achievement in favor of the experimental group. Significant statistical differences (=0.05) on social interactional sills scale were reported and in favor of the experimental group. The present study recommends thatMinistry of Education need to dramatize history textbooks and to train teachers on using drama in teaching history.

  The aim of this study was to measure the effect of the use of oral history on the achievement of the sixth grade students in national education and the development of their national values. The study sample consisted of (60) students of the sixth grade in the Directorate of Education in the Direla District، The second method was used for the academic year 2017/2018. The semi- experimental method was used by randomly dividing the study sample into two experimental and control groups. In order to achieve the objectives of the study، the mean and standard deviations were used، and ANCOVA was analyzed.

Background: In the future, aging becomes one of the problems of society and the problems of the country's health care system and brings many costs in the health care sector. Purpose: This study examines the effect of imagery on performance and cognitive ability in the elderly. The research method is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design. 40 older adults were selected and divided into experimental and control groups. The subjects in the experimental group performed imagery for four weeks following the pretest. Methods: Data were analyzed using the analysis of covariance. Results: Findings showed that imagery improves the performance and cognitive ability in the elderly. Conclusion: In general, imagery may improve performance and cognitive abilities in the elderly. This study was to examine the effects of acupressure on fatigue and depression in HCC patients undergoing TACE. A quasiexperimental study design was used. Patients were evaluated at five time points: before treatment (T1) and 2, 3, 4, and 5 days after treating TACE (T2, T3, T4, and T5). Fatigue and depression were assessed by a VAS fatigue scale and a VAS depression scale at each time point. TFRS and BDI were administered at T1 and T5. Patients’ fatigue and depression were significantly higher at T5 than at T1 in two groups. Fatigue and depression increased in both the experimental and control groups’ patients over the five days of hospitalization during which TACE and chemotherapy were administered. The experimental group had significantly less fatigue than the control group, with lower subscale scores on physical, psychosocial, daily, and overall fatigue. There were no differences between the groups on depression. At posttest, the experimental group experienced lower physical, psychosocial, daily, and overall fatigue than the control group. Acupressure can improve fatigue in HCC patients during treatment with TACE but did not alleviate depression. Discharge planning should include home care for management of fatigue and depression.
