This study aimed at revealing the impact of using the gradual elimination method on the direct and delayed achievement of the 7th Grade students in memorizing the required chapters in Quran in Alhosayneya area schools. The searcher has used the Semi-experimental subject to complete this study. The study sample consisted of 48 male and female students was divided into 2 groups, Empirical and control. The Empirical group used (the gradual elimination method memorizing the required chapters in Quran). Whereas, the control group used (the conventional method in memorizing the required chapters in Quran). The study results have shown the existence of a statistical indicative difference at the level (α=0.05) of both direct and delayed achievement in memorizing the required chapters in Quran using the gradual elimination method. On the other hand, there was no indicative differences at the level (α=0.05) of both direct and delayed achievement in memorizing the required chapters in Quran due to the gender variable or its reaction with the study method. The study had recommended adopting the gradual elimination method as one of the effective teaching approach in memorizing the required chapters.

This study aims at identifying the impact of using Simulation programs on acquiring physics concepts, and development of lab activity skills. The sample consisted of (54) female students in grade 11 in the General Education at schools in Al-Batinah North Governorate. The sample was divided into two groups: The experimental group (n=28) that studied physics using simulation, and the control group (n=26) that studied the same material but using the traditional method of teaching. To achieve the study aims three tools were prepared: The Physics Concepts Test, the Laboratory Work Skills Test, and Laboratory Work Skills Observation Card. After conducting the tests before and after the study treatment, and observing the student while working on the experiments, the study results showed that no statistical differences was indicated between the experimental group and the control group in terms of gain of physics concepts, and all lab activity skills. In addition, the results of the Laboratory Work Skills Observation Card showed that simulation programs made the student make most of the lab activity skills. In view of the findings of the study, some suggestions and recommendations were proposed for future research.

The study aimed to reveal the effect of the use of a teaching strategy given to the model of Ausubel in the Achievement of the Ninth Grade female students in biology and their attitudes towards it. The study sample consisted of (44) female students, assigned randomly into two group: the experimental group consisted of (21) students taught using teaching strategy given to the model of Ausubel (concept mapping), and control group consisting of (23) students taught using conventional teaching. The study tools consist of two instruments were developed, the achievement test and the trend scale towards biology, and after verifying the validity and reliability have been applied to study tools triabl group and then teaching the experimental group using the model of Ausubel (concept mapping) and the control group in the usual way. The results of study showed that there were statistically significant differences between the two groups on the achievement in favor of the experimental groups, in addition to the impact of teaching using the strategy of concept maps in developing the students' direction towards biology. In light of the study findings, some recommendations were offered.

Aim: To study the nutritional quality and its impact on the health of the students of higher education institutions. Material and methods: 647 students were interviewed. A questionnaire, which contains 17 questions and is aimed at studying the quality of students’ nutrition, was created by authors. Experimental (EG, n = 60) and control (CG, n = 60) groups were formed. The EG included the students whose diet was rational while studying, the CG included the students whose diet was irrational. The level of students’ health was examined at the end of studying according to the methodology of professor G.L. Apanasenko. Results: It was found that only 30.6% of students ate 3-4 times a day, 14.4% – twice a day, 49.8% did not follow any dietary regimen, and 7.9% of students would not eat breakfast at al 43.7% of male students and 53.3% of female students did not follow a dietary regimen at all. A comparative analysis of the physical health of students of EG and CG showed that among both male and female students, the students whose diet was rational had significantly better (p<0.001) level of health. Conclusions: It was determined that the majority of students had low nutritional quality while studying: nutrition was irrational, incomplete, and not varied. This does not contribute to a healthy lifestyle of modern students and can negatively affect the efficiency of their future professional activities.

Background In times of pandemics, social distancing, isolation, and quarantine have precipitated depression, anxiety, and substance misuse. Scientific literature suggests that patients living with mental health problems or illnesses (MHPIs) who interact with peer support workers (PSWs) experience not only the empathy and connectedness that comes from similar life experiences but also feel hope in the possibility of recovery. So far, it is the effect of mental health teams or programs with PSWs that has been evaluated. Objective This paper presents the protocol for a web-based intervention facilitated by PSWs. The five principal research questions are whether this intervention will have an impact in terms of (Q1) personal-civic recovery and (Q2) clinical recovery, (Q3) how these recovery potentials can be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, (Q4) how the lived experience of persons in recovery can be mobilized to cope with such a situation, and (Q5) how sex and gender considerations can be taken into account for the pairing of PSWs with service users beyond considerations based solely on psychiatric diagnoses or specific MHPIs. This will help us assess the impact of PSWs in this setting. Methods PSWs will lead a typical informal peer support group within the larger context of online peer support groups, focusing on personal-civic recovery. They will be scripted with a fixed, predetermined duration (a series of 10 weekly 90-minute online workshops). There will be 2 experimental subgroups—patients diagnosed with (1) psychotic disorders (n=10) and (2) anxiety or mood disorders (n=10)—compared to a control group (n=10). Random assignment to the intervention and control arms will be conducted using a 2:1 ratio. Several instruments will be used to assess clinical recovery (eg, the Recovery Assessment Scale, the Citizenship Measure questionnaire). The COVID-19 Stress Scales will be used to assess effects in terms of clinical recovery and stress- or anxiety-related responses to COVID-19. Changes will be compared between groups from baseline to endpoint in the intervention and control groups using the Student paired sample t test. Results This pilot study was funded in March 2020. The protocol was approved on June 16, 2020, by the Research Ethics Committees of the Montreal Mental Health University Institute. Recruitment took place during the months of July and August, and results are expected in December 2020. Conclusions Study results will provide reliable evidence on the effectiveness of a web-based intervention provided by PSWs. The investigators, alongside key decision makers and patient partners, will ensure knowledge translation throughout, and our massive open online course (MOOC), The Fundamentals of Recovery, will be updated with the evidence and new knowledge generated by this feasibility study. <p>The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of neurofeedback-based treatment in reducing test anxiety and shyness of female students at competitive examination level in Ahvaz. The sample consisted of 40 students at competitive examination level that were selected by available sampling method from students referred to Ahvaz Aramesh counseling clinic, which were randomly divided into two experimental (n=20) and control (n=20) groups. The tools used were Friedman Test Anxiety Questionnaire (1997) and Stanford Shyness Questionnaire (1997). The experimental group received fifteen 30-minute sessions (three sessions per week) of neurofeedback treatment program. The study design was a semi-experimental and pretest-posttest one with control group. The results obtained using analysis of variance (ANCOVA) at significance level of α=0.05 showed that the neurofeedback-based therapy has an impact on reducing test anxiety and shyness of female students at competitive examination level in Ahvaz.</p>

The study aims at finding out the impact of metacognition strategies in the teaching of mathematics in developing creative thinking among gifted primary school students in Rafha province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They are defined in this study as the students whose IQ score is (120 and above) according to the Wakslar measurement for children intelligence and are selected by their teachers. The study sample consists of 40 male and female students from the fifth class in the primary stage. They were divided randomly into two groups; experimental group which was taught by the methods and strategies of the suggested teaching program and a control group upon whom the ordinary method was applied. Each group included 20 male and female students. For the purpose of the study, a creative thinking measurement in mathematics, designed by the researchers, was used for data collecting. The program was implemented for three successive weeks, three sessions per week each one lasting for one period. After finishing the program, a post measurement was conducted for all the study variables for both the experimental and control groups. The results show statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) between using the metacognition strategies on one hand and the ordinary method on the other. The differences were in favor of the metacognition strategies.

<p>Student-based instruction is a form of collaborative education that students play an active role in learning the process. Student’s activity is in group forms. The teacher is presenting in class just to answer students’ questions. The paradigm and pattern shifting away from teaching to an emphasis on learning have persuaded power to be changed and moved from the teacher to the student. Being a qualitative research paper, it is an attempt to investigate the impact of student-based instruction on improving IBT scores of Iranian students. The participants of this study will include two groups of male and female students each consisting of 15, all of whom are enrolling in TOEFL classes in Kish English Institute in Tehran. The participants will be assigned to control (N=15) and experimental (N=15) groups. The participants in the experimental and control groups exposed to the same content, but a different instructional method. The participants are 30 students in Advance level in one class, male and female, aged 25-35 years old. SPSS and Independent T-test are used to measure hypothesis of research and to analyze data, respectively. According to the results of this investigation, student-based instruction significantly affects IBT TOEFL scores of students.</p>

Background: This study examined the effects of a five-month lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic on physical fitness parameters in urban adolescent male and female students. Methods: Two hundred and ninety-three male and female students (age: 15.8 ± 0.3 years) who attended the fourth grade of the same high school during the years 2016–2017 (first control group), 2018–2019 (second control group) and 2020–2021 (lockdown group) took part in the present study. Results: The percentage of overweight and obese students, according to body mass index, increased in males from 16.0% (2016–2017) and 14.6% (2018–2019), to 36.7% in 2020–2021 (p < 0.01), and in females from 8.6% (2016–2017) and 7.0% (2016–2017), to 25.6% in 2020–2021 (p < 0.01). Lower body fitness, as assessed by jumping, sprinting and agility tests, was impaired for both males and females after the lockdown compared with the 2016–2017 and 2018–2019 cohorts (vertical jumps: 10.4–15.1%; p < 0.01; d = 0.58–1.01, 30 m sprint: 3.7–4.9%; p < 0.01; d = 0.62–0.74; 505 agility test: from 6.1% to 9.4%; p < 0.01; d = 0.80–1.04). However, flexibility and performance in upper-body fitness tests (handgrip maximum isometric strength and medicine ball throws with different loads) was significantly reduced only in males after the lockdown (p < 0.05 to 0.01). Conclusions: These results suggest that a five-month lockdown negative influenced the physical fitness of adolescent students. Notably, greater reductions were observed in upper body strength, power and flexibility in males than in females. These results highlight the need to maintain strength, power and body mass during long periods of inactivity in adolescent populations.

The research aimed to know The Effect of The Analogies Strategy in The Teaching of Science on Achievement and The Development of Creative Thinking Skills of The First Grade Intermediate Female Students, To achieve the aim of the research, the approach was used experimental; it was chosen as the experimental design for the two experimental and control group with the test after- behind, where the researcher prepared a test in the Achievement and The Creative Thinking Skills, was chosen as a random sample numbered (60) Student, the students of The First Grade Intermediate Female Students in Abha, Asir Province, has been divided into two groups: experimental numbered (30) student, studied using the Analogy strategy, and an officer numbered (30) students, studied using the usual way, it has been applied to the experience during the first semester of the academic year 1436/1437 AH. At the end of the experiment was applied the both two tests on the two groups, has resulted in the search for and no statistically significant differences at the level of results (0.05) between the mean scores of students in the experimental group (which studied using Analogy strategy) and control group (studied using usual) way, in the post application to test the Achievement and testing of Creative thinking skills for the experimental group. Also, it found that the use of Analogy strategy in the teaching of science has had a significant impact on the achievement and Achievement and The Development of Creative Thinking Skills of The First Grade Intermediate Female Students. In the light of the results, the study recommended to ensure that science teachers use the strategy of analogies in teaching because of its impact in achieving the desired goals, and increase the cultural awareness of science teachers about the topic of innovative thinking and the importance of its development among their students, and I also proposed conducting a study of the impact of science education using the analogies strategy on developing other skills of thinking.

This study is of considerable importance because Information Technology and electronic media (Multimedia) are being extensively used for conveying information, transacting business, remitting money and for creating awareness about socio-political environment, and so on. Therefore, in view of the reach and ease of multimedia, the purpose of this study was to find out the impact of using multimedia on student-learners’ academic achievement at the primary level. Two groups of 20 female school students from the third standard each were constituted the experiment group and control group. No external intervention was allowed in the course of imparting instruction – traditional method was used for the control group and multimedia devices (products) were used in the experiment group. Marked (significant) difference was found between the two groups’ achievements. The experimental group female students raised their achievement level. Lower achievement was shown by the female group-students in the control group.
