Research excellence characteristics are comprehensively delineated, encompassing creativity through transnationality and translation-capability. The research iterative primers of “Re” and “search” as the underlying push-engine, is briefly illustrated. Subsequently, a visual model depicting three major modules of the entire research tasking-process illustrates the need to balance the preparation and the rendition of data and interpretation components, through the mediating role of data capture. Traits of the primers characterising research excellence are consequently deliberated and discussed thoroughly using the acronym R-E-S-E-A-R-C-H. The initial three entities, RES, fittingly portray the literature review matrix; with reviewing of references through examining “slacks” or gaps in available literature. The E is then envisaged as representing exclusivity through ethical considerations; A as audience through imbibition of overt and covert objectives, to audit trail analysis; R as rationale through research frame (interpretive, analytical, simulative); C as encompassing creativity through coherence (tone, voice, style); and, H as the human factors- trailing from biases through needs/wants to influences. Optimising values of these primers are deemed imperative to achieve excellence in a research project process and outcome.

The imperative needs for, and characteristics of an effective critical literature review, provide the foreground baseline deliberation. A visual model depicting synthesized major modular components of a research project delineate impact points of literature review inputs. The three major modules represent preparation, data capture, and data rendering-analysis-interpretation phases of research. Within each module, the literature review elements to be incorporated are elaborated. Steps and optimal articulation-action strategies are highlighted and embedded with examples from literature and theses. Development of competency and efficacy in critiquing and evaluating, which comprised mandatory skills to acquire, is especially focussed.

This pitch research letter applies the pitching template developed by Faff (2015; 2019) to an academic project titled “Impact of digital mobile advertising on customers’ purchase intention; mediating role of customer motivation and customer perception”. This PRL forms a framework for a research project which helps the pitcher identify core elements of research. This PRL consists of introduction of the pitching letter, followed by brief commentary on pitching exercise and personal reflection of the pitcher on this exercise.

Through the analysis of the drawing Sans Titre (Apres P. B. Notations) (2017), the following article seeks to explore the role of writing in my own artistic practice, which is concerned with the relation between music and drawing. This article examines the creative process that is carried out in relation to drawing with a musical composition, in this case Pierre Boulez’s Notations (1945), and how the imbrication of text influences and shapes the process and outcome of the artwork. In addition, this article analyses how the text engages with a wider theoretical approach of time, through ‘Chronos’ and ‘Aion’, two categories of time developed by French philosopher Gilles Deleuze primarily in The Logic of Sense ([1969] 2004), and the way they relate to drawing and opening up new ways of understanding it. Thus, the research will look at the role of the spiral line or helix as a visual model that could lend shape to musical time constituting the main frame of the drawing.

This article presents intimate conversations among three colleagues around ethical considerations of ethnographic inter-racial qualitative inquiry. It draws on an ethnographic research project conducted at a high school in rural Idaho, USA. Focusing on the question, “Why are our teachers racist?” the collective worked together to challenge subtle inequity at this particular school. The authors come together in a dialogue to reflect on the role of the researcher within this specific project, but end up illustrating reflexivity, an often hidden aspect of the research process, opening an entangled, unresolved, and yet meaningful set of interpellations around practical methodological concepts.

In the recent, the aspect of foresight is considered globally important. Specially, it has gained a meaningful position in strategic planning. This study examines the quantitative relationships between strategic foresight, ambidexterity and competitiveness of firms. Based on the literature review, it appears that strategic foresight has positive impact on organisational ambidexterity which in turn contributes to competitive advantage. We have utilised structural equations modeling (SEM) to empirically test the mentioned relationships in Iran’s nanotechnology firms. Results show that the degree of strategic foresight has a direct effect on organisational ambidexterity which in turn affects competitive advantage.

This paper reports the results of a systematic review of recent literature on consumer innovativeness. The main purpose of the research is to identify the current research themes, understand emerging themes, and predict future directions in consumer innovativeness research. Previous reviews were either narrowly scoped or needed to be updated. Accordingly, the current literature review may fill this gap in the literature. The study sample is 188 articles published in journals indexed in the Web of Science database in the last decade. Content analysis was employed by using quantitative and narrative approaches. Based on the content analysis, these articles were assigned to five research themes as follows: 1) consequences of consumer innovativeness; 2) antecedents of consumer innovativeness; 3) the moderating role of consumer innovativeness; 4) the mediating role of consumer innovativeness; 5) measurement of consumer innovativeness. The findings showed that the highest proportion of articles reviewed in this study involve research that examines the consequences of consumer innovativeness. New product adoption is the most commonly identified consequence of consumer innovativeness. The next most common research themes were the moderator role and antecedents of consumer innovativeness. Articles in the measurement of consumer innovativeness were relatively rare. The fewer number of articles in the research theme indicates that measurement of consumer innovativeness has been well identified in the previous studies. The mediator role of consumer innovativeness was not common in the last decade. The research themes were examined in detail by providing the variables included in the previous studies and the study findings, as well. The research confirms the crucial role of consumer innovativeness in adoption. Besides, the findings indicated the augmented role of consumer innovativeness in consumer behaviour literature. The results of the research can be useful for guiding future research. Keywords antecedents of consumer innovativeness, consumer innovativeness, content analysis systematic literature review, consequences of consumer innovativeness.

The emergence of the coronavirus crisis has generated unexpected negative effects for most companies, specifically small enterprises. The objective of this research is to examine the effect of this pandemic on the rental negotiation process between commercials and landlords. Based on an in-depth literature review on negotiation and the phenomenon of the crisis, a quantitative study is carried out with a sample of 396 Tunisian respondents to validate our measurement model. The empirical results show that the integrative arrangement has a positive effect on the negotiation process, with a mediating role of the mediation variable. The latter exerts in turn, a positive effect on the social psychological result of the competitor. These findings led to a rich discussion and a set of managerial recommendations that can help commercials to respond more effectively to the challenges generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
