Physical fitness, as an important physical health issue, may play a key role also in brain health by affecting the academic performance of youth helping the cognitive control components to improve. Memory and cognitive skill are some of the cognitive control components that are fundamental even for academic ability. Aim: In this context, the aim of our study was to investigate and analyze the facts regarding the potential of the exercises on academic achievement improvement. Methods: In order to realize a detailed review study we used the Jab Ref as a research sector, focusing more on navigating the Medline, Google Scholar, and Inspire options that this program contains. While as the selection criteria of the collected scientific articles, we used the keywords that provided us the exact articles that stated facts about the aim of our study. Results: Authors emphasized that the development of motor skills by practicing the coordinative exercises may have a beneficial influence on the learning process improving academic performance. This comes out because of the coordinative exercise’s impact on increasing the number of neuron transmitters and the new neural connections that enable youth to have a better perception regarding motor and academic situations. In addition, the authors underline the fact that the most active youth tend to perform better academically.

Identificar e analisar evidências científicas adotadas na prevenção de recidivas de úlceras venosas. Trata-se de um estudo de revisão integrativa da literatura, descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, realizado entre outubro e novembro de 2017, a partir de consulta de bases de dados nacionais e internacionais. Os descritores utilizados foram “úlcera venosa”, “úlcera varicosa”, “recidiva” associados à palavra chave “prevenção”. Recorreu análise temática de conteúdo, emergindo duas categorias. Dos 305 artigos encontrados, 10 foram selecionados atendendo aos critérios de seleção. As principais evidências observadas foram “medidas para a prevenção de recidivas de úlceras venosas” e “facilidades e dificuldades da implementação de medidas preventivas”. Evidenciou-se que as medidas são diversas para prevenir as recidivas de úlcera venosa, no entanto, a adesão ainda é fator limitador as práticas devido à complexidade que a envolve.Descritores: Úlcera Venosa, Recidiva, Prevenção. Measures to prevent recurrence of venous ulcersAbstract: To identify and analyze scientific evidences adopted in the prevention of venous ulcers recurrences. Considering the urgency of integrating technologies in the contemporary classrooms, the aim of the presented study has been shaped to outline the impact of inquiry-based English language teaching through digital applications on primary learners’ reading comprehension and autonomy development during a pandemic outbreak of COVID-19. The research context has been designed in a quantitative manner to analyze experiment results and compare control and treatment group learners’ reading comprehension and academic achievement levels as well as to measure primary schoolchildren’s level of autonomy before and after the treatment. The subjects’ autonomy level, curiosity and interest in reading through digital applications before and after the experiment have been evaluated through pre and post-experimental questionnaires. Learning processes of two experimental and two control groups were compared to create four research contexts for the study. Discrepancy between inquiry-based teaching through a digital library and a traditional way of teaching reading has been emphasized in the study results. The obtained data has been analyzed using SPSS to compare the academic performance results. The study revealed that inquiry-based English language teaching through digital applications highly enhanced the primary learners’ academic performance in reading and increased their motivation level to study independently.

<p>The aim of the study was to investigate the common sports injuries among physical activities practitioners at the physical fitness centers in Jordan. Study sample consisted of (272) volunteered male (n=221) and female (n=51) (age 30±3). Researchers used a special form used to evaluate athletic injuries. After collecting and analyzing the data. Results showed that the most common sports injuries among sample of the study was muscular tears 27.7%, muscle spasm 20.7%, and tears ligament 20.2%. And the most exposed parts of the body to injury is the lumbar area 26.8%, elbows 16.9%, followed by shoulders 8.9%. Also the study results revealed that the most cusses of injuries was over training 24.14%. Poor warm-up 22.1% and bad technic 11.3%. Bodies-building was the most type of activities subjects to injury with 18.8%. Physical Fitness 6.6% and weight loss 27.7. Results also showed that physical therapy was the most means of treating injuries 54.14%, drugs therapy 33.3% and surgical intervention 4.2%. Also the study shows that males are more exposed to injuries than females.</p><p>Conclusions: These finding indicate that sports injures is part of physical</p><p>Activities participations, preventive measures should be taken by participant's the researchers recommended the need for physical and medical checkup before participation in physical activity at the physical fitness centers.</p>

Objective: Mixed findings exist regarding extent and efficacy of nonmedical use of prescription stimulants (NMUPS) for study enhancement (SE). This national study of US high school seniors examined NMUPS for SE and addressed risk/benefit questions: To what extent are students reporting NMUPS specifically for SE, and do these individuals demonstrate fewer problem behaviors and superior academic performance? Method: Total of 15 098 US students surveyed (2009-2015) and divided into 4 subgroups: (1) no past-year NMUPS (nonusers), (2) past-year NMUPS to help study (NMUPS-SE only), (3) past-year NMUPS for study/nonstudy motives (NMUPS-SE+ other), and (4) past-year NMUPS for nonstudy motives (NMUPS-nonSE only). Student characteristics (eg, grade point average [GPA]) and substance-related problems (eg, binge drinking) compared between subgroups. Results: Among students who reported past-year NMUPS (n = 781), 7.4% reported NMUPS-SE only, 40.9% NMUPS-SE+ other, and 51.7% NMUPS-nonSE only. Odds of binge drinking, cigarette smoking, marijuana, and opioid nonmedical use significantly higher among all NMUPS subgroups. GPAs significantly lower among subgroups reporting NMUPS nonstudy motives; did not differ between NMUPS-SE only and nonusers. Conclusions: 7% of US high school seniors engaged in NMUPS for SE only (0.4% total population). Findings indicate greater substance-related problems without superior academic performance among NMUPS-SE subgroups.

This study seek to highlight the impact of foreign languages proficiency on academic performance of accounting students, in the context of finding methods that would improve Algeria’s accounting education, to obtain the study results the descriptive, analytical methods have been followed, and survey have been distributed on 30 student male/female from accounting field in Jijel university. We came to that languages proficiency significantly improve scientific production of accounting students while it does not affect their learning and professional integration in Algerian environment.

Abstract Background: Adverse events (AEs) in randomized clinical trials may be reported in multiple sources. Different methods for reporting adverse events across trials, or across sources for a single trial, may produce inconsistent and confusing information about the adverse events associated with interventions Methods: We sought to compare the methods authors use to decide which AEs to include in a particular source (i.e., “selection criteria”) and to determine how selection criteria could impact the AEs reported. We compared sources (e.g., journal articles, clinical study reports [CSRs]) of trials for two drug-indications: gabapentin for neuropathic pain and quetiapine for bipolar depression. We identified selection criteria and assessed how criteria affected AE reporting. Results: We identified 21 gabapentin trials and 7 quetiapine trials. All CSRs (6 gabapentin, 2 quetiapine) reported all AEs without applying selection criteria; by comparison, no other source reported all AEs, and 15/68 (22%) gabapentin sources and 19/48 (40%) quetiapine sources reported using selection criteria. Selection criteria greatly affected the number of AEs that would be reported. For example, 67/316 (21%) AEs in one quetiapine trial met the criterion “occurring in ≥2% of participants in any treatment group,” while only 5/316 (2%) AEs met the criterion, “occurring in ≥10% of quetiapine-treated patients and twice as frequent in the quetiapine group as the placebo group.” Conclusions: Selection criteria for reporting AEs vary across trials and across sources for individual trials. If investigators do not pre-specify selection criteria, they might “cherry-pick” AEs based on study results. Even if investigators pre-specify selection criteria, selective reporting of AEs will produce biased meta-analyses and clinical practice guidelines. Data about all AEs identified in clinical trials should be publicly available; however, sharing data will not solve all the problems we identified in this study. RESUMENEl rendimiento académico de los estudiantes depende de una serie de factores principalmente internos al estudiante; dentro de los cuales los hábitos de estudio juegan un rol muy importante, así como la motivación de los estudiantes y el locus de control. En el presente trabajo, se hace un estudio de la relación entre rendimiento académico, hábitos de estudio, motivación y locus de control; analizando la incidencia de las tres últimas variables sobre la primera. Para lo cual se aplica la técnica de la encuesta así como escalas de motivación, de hábitos de estudio y de locus de control; analizando los resultados con el empleo de técnicas estadísticas como el análisis de correlación, el análisis de varianza y el análisis de correlación. Los resultados del estudio muestran que los hábitos de estudio, así como la motivación hacia la afiliación y la motivación al logro inciden significativamente en el rendimiento académico de la muestra, conformada por estudiantes de la Facultad de Ingeniería Industrial y de Sistemas.Palabras clave.- Rendimiento académico, Hábitos de estudio, Necesidad de logro, Necesidad de filiación, Necesidad de poder, Locus-D control.ABSTRACTThe academic performance of students depends on a number of factors, mostly psycological; within which studying habits play an important role, as well as student motivation and locus of control. In this work, a study of the relationship between academic performance, study habits, motivation and locus of control is made; analyzing the impact of the last three variables over the first. For which the survey technique is applied and scales of motivation, study habits and locus of control; analyzing the results with the use of statistical techniques such as correlation analysis, analysis of variance and correlation analysis. The study results show that the study habits and motivation for affiliation and motivation to achieve significant impact on the academic performance of the sample, formed by students of the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering.Key words.- Academic performance, Study habits, Need for achievement, Need for affiliation, Need for power, Control-D locus.
