Through an empirical and theoretical analysis, the study will demonstrate the relationship existing between the leadership style and organizational effectiveness, taking into account that the leadership model explored in this study will be the model provided by Bass and Avolio (1994), represented by the transactional, transformational and laissez-faire style. Impact and behavior of each style on the employees’ motivation, increase of the business organization revenues and finally on the enhancement of organizational effectiveness. The research methodology selected for this study is the quantitative one, where a number of about 450 employees in the secondary banking system in Albania are planned to be interviewed. The measuring instrument will be divided in 4 sections and after data collection, the variable analysis will be realized via SPSS program, which enables the implementation of ANOVA test, Chi-square (χ2), means, standard deviations, frequencies and correlations between the key variables to prove the study hypothesis. Finally, this scientific study will be closed with the relevant conclusions and recommendations.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to check the effectiveness of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations in Pakistan. The study investigates and analyses some key variables that may be influencing the effectiveness of anti-money regulations in Pakistan. Money laundering is most prevalent in the banking sector, as banks deals with the money’s deposition, withdrawal and transfer, therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of anti-money regulations on subjective judgments. It is an exploratory study in which I have tried to find the relationship and impact of three regulations, which are customer record keeping, employee training and suspicious transaction reporting on money laundering. Design/methodology/approach – A sample of hundred responses has been collected from employees working in different banks located in Rawalpindi and Lahore through questionnaire. Questionnaire has been developed on the basis of different dimensions of the research variables. Findings – It has been found that that there is an impact of employee training on money laundering in banking system. A moderate inverse relationship between employee training and money laundering and anti-money laundering regulation of customer record keeping has weak impact on money laundering in developing countries. Research limitations/implications – The research is limited to Pakistan only, and to apply the same concept in other countries, researchers need to check the financial institutions of that country as well. Originality/value – It has been suggested that to stop money laundry, special budget should be allocated for the capacity building of employees through training. Timely guidance and assistance of foreign-trained instructors or experts in combating money laundering should be taken. Implementation of anti-money laundering regulations should be transparent, consistent and timely.

Abstract Introduction The coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has also hit Indonesia. Until September 2020, cases continued to increase with the highest number in Jakarta. The right behavior needs to be followed to prevent COVID-19; this aspect has a strong relationship with knowledge and attitude. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of hospitalized patients' families in Fatmawati Hospital, Jakarta, in an effort to prevent COVID-19. Materials and Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted on 300 respondents using a self-administered questionnaire to assess their knowledge, attitude, and behavior about COVID-19. The relationship between knowledge, attitude, and behavior was analyzed using the chi-square test with p < 0.05. Results Most of the participants responded to the questionnaire showing a good knowledge, attitude, and behavior related to the efforts to prevent COVID-19. No relationship was present between knowledge, attitude, and behavior in an effort to prevent COVID-19 (p = 0.414 and p = 0.165). Conclusion The hospitalized patients' families exhibited an adequate level of knowledge, attitude, and preventive behaviors toward COVID-19.

Purpose The purpose was to examine the mediating role of employee competencies in the relationship between human resource development (HRD) practices and organizational effectiveness. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected through questionnaire from 550 employees of the selected banks. The author tested four hypotheses Findings The results confirmed Hypothesis One, indicating training and development have a big influence on employee competencies. There was also support for Hypothesis Two, revealing employee involvement influences employee competencies. But the results did not support Hypothesis Three, which stated that career development has a significant influence on employee competencies. Finally, there was support for Hypothesis Four, which said HRD practices influence organizational effectiveness through the mediating role of employee competencies. Originality/value The author chose to focus on the banking sector because of its significance to a country’s economy. A further justification was that similar studies have focused on Western banks and there is a paucity of research into HRD practices in the West African banking industry. More broadly, there have been very few studies of the mediating processes through which HR practices impact performance.

The purpose of this study is to explore how various dimensions of leadership style are being used to measure organizational effectiveness. Job satisfaction is one of the essential indicators used to measure organizational effectiveness. Literature suggests that the manager’s transformational leadership style highly influences the employees’ job satisfaction. This study focuses on identifying the role of a transformational leader in developing job satisfaction in employees of the banking industry, using the organizations’ learning culture as the moderating variable. For this purpose, a total of 180 respondents were surveyed from UAE’s banking sector. In this study descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis were employed for the data analyses. The results confirmed that the five dimensions of transformational leaders and overall transformational leadership style significantly affect the employee’s job satisfaction, whereas the moderating effect of the organizational learning culture on any of the said relationships was found insignificant. This study used self-reported data based on a cross-sectional survey in the banking sector only. The research emphasizes the implication of the leaders’ personal traits to be a significant determinant of an employee’s satisfaction. In addition, managers in the banking sector in UAE realized that organization learning culture (OLC) has not had any significant impact on employees’ job satisfaction. As there is not sufficient literature on the moderating role of organizational learning culture, this study is a valuable contribution to the existing body of knowledge.

Macau has the uppermost population density and the fourth-highest GDP per capita in the world. Macau’s banking system is regarded as one of the most important indicators of Macau’s macroeconomic growth and stability during its transformation into a wealthy and modern metropolis. In this study, we use a sample of 26 banks to explore the relationship of bank competition, efficiency and stability in Macau from its return to China in 1999 to 2016. Our results demonstrate that bank competition does cause efficiency in Macau throughout the study period. We also find indications of a positive but not significant connection between bank market power and bank fragility including income volatility and insolvency risk. Moreover, this study finds no evidence that the size of operations proxied by total bank loans and total assets would impact bank efficiency, indicating that economies of scale or bank market share don’t necessarily bring about efficiency in Macau. Our evidence contributes to the literature by being the first to thoroughly examine the relation of bank competition, efficiency and stability in Macau. The findings provide meaningful implications to the practitioners and policymakers to make sound decisions accordingly, especially to closely monitor and maintain a proper level of competition in Macau’s banking sector.

This study identifies factors responsible for customers’ attitudes and perceptions towards emerging internet banking sector. It also reveals the importance of the key variables relating to customers’ demographic and social inputs. A sample of 156 customers is personally surveyed using a structured questionnaire in various cities of Andhra Pradesh. The data are analyzed using descriptive analysis like chi-square test, cross tabulations, t-test and factor analysis, and the proposed hypotheses are tested. Further the effects of psychometric factors are analyzed and the results are compared with those obtained without psychometric input. Extensive analysis of the data reveals that factors such as customer relationship management, word of mouth and the attitudes of the customers play important roles in increasing the productivity with respect to internet banking. Hypothesis tests also demonstrate that significant difference exists in usage of mobile banking and SMS banking with reference to demographic factors. The quality of the service also influences the customers to choose internet banking as a better alternative.
