Awareness about convalescent plasma therapy in managing covid-19 among dental students

A coronavirus is indeed a group of viruses which inflict a variety of dangerous human diseases including the common cold and far more extreme types such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The medical emergency caused due to SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout the city of Wuhan, China, is now a pandemic that has spread to nearly 200 countries. Over several million people globally were already diagnosed with the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. This survey was performed for assessing the awareness about convalescent plasma therapy in managing COVID-19 amongst dental students. A questionnaire oriented cross-sectional type of survey was done in a group comprising 100 dental college students in Chennai. A self-designed questionnaire contains 10 questions based on the knowledge and awareness about Convalescent Plasma therapy among dental college students. Questionnaires were circulated through an online website survey planet. The questions explored the awareness of Convalescent Plasma therapy, indications, contraindications, mechanism of action and side effects. After the responses were received from 100 participants, data were collected and analyzed. 9% are aware of Convalescent Plasma therapy. 15% are aware of the mechanism of action of Convalescent Plasma therapy. 15% are aware of the indications of Convalescent Plasma therapy. 13% are aware of the contraindications of Convalescent Plasma therapy. 11%. are aware of the side effects of Convalescent Plasma therapy. The awareness about convalescent plasma therapy was less among dental students. Increased awareness and educational programs should be initiated to spread knowledge about plasma therapy.

QL47 a Bruton Tyrosine Kinase inhibitor is a host-targeted, small molecule antiviral that inhibits steady-state viral protein expression. This small molecule broadly inhibits both viral and host protein synthesis and targets a translation step specific to eukaryotic cells and has the potential to be used as an antiviral medication. The aim of the study was to assess the awareness about medical applications of QL-47 among dental students. This was a questionnaire-based cross-sectional type of study comprising 100 dental college students in Chennai. A self-designed questionnaire with ten questions eliciting the knowledge and awareness about QL 47 therapy among dental college students. Questionnaires were circulated through an online website survey planets questions explored the awareness on QL 47 therapy, indications, contraindications, mechanism of action and side effects. After the responses were received from 100 participants, data were collected and analysed.5% were aware about QL 47 therapy. 3% were aware of the mechanism of action of QL 47 therapy. 4% were aware of the indications of QL 47 therapy. 3% were aware of the QL 47 therapy.3%.were aware of the side effects of QL 47 therapy. The awareness about QL 47 in medical applications and managing viral infections was less among dental students. Increased awareness and educational programs should be initiated to spread knowledge about QL 47 therapy.

Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) induced by new ß coronavirus MERS-(CoV) had first been described in Saudi Arabia in September 2012. MERS-CoV communication inside the population is often identified with clustered households and cramped communal spaces. The purpose of the study is to assess the knowledge and awareness of MERS-CoV among dental students in India. This was a questionnaire-based cross-sectional survey of 100 dental college students in Chennai. The self-designed questionnaires contained ten questions focused on the knowledge and awareness of MERS-CoV amongst dental college students. Questionnaires were circulated through an online website survey planet. After the responses were received from 100 participants, data were collected and analyzed, .87% are aware of MERS-CoV through media 13% from professional channels. 84%are aware of the clinical manifestation of MERS-CoV. 81%Are aware of the mode of transmission of MERS-CoV. 76%are aware of the preventive measures against MERS -CoV.68%. Are aware of the incubation period of MERS-CoV. 74%aware of PCR as a diagnostic test for MERS-CoV. This study concluded that dental students had strong awareness and knowledge of MERS. Also, there are a few differences in information and behaviours that require change. Large-scale health educational programs on MERS also should be facilitated by professional organizations to expand their reach and to strengthen knowledge to have a positive impact on their behaviour.

Ribavirin is another nucleotide analogue with a wide range of antiviral efficacy against multiple viruses, including respiratory syncytial virus, influenza virus, measles, herpes simplex virus, human immunodeficiency virus, Lassa fever, and hepatitis B and C viral infections. Ribavirin can indeed be delivered orally, intravenous infusion or via a nebulizer. This survey was initiated to study the awareness of ribavirin therapy amongst dental students. This was cross-sectional type research done with a questionnaire distributed among 100 dental college students in Chennai. A self-designed questionnaire with 10 items that elicit knowledge and understanding of ribavirin therapy amongst dental college students. Questionnaires were circulated through an online website survey planet. The questions explored the awareness of Ribavirin therapy, indications, contra indications, mechanism of action and side effects. After the responses were received from 100 participants, data were collected and analysed. 7% were aware of Ribavirin therapy. 5% were aware of the mechanism of action of Ribavirin therapy. 5% were aware of the indications of Ribavirin therapy .3% were aware of the contraindications of Ribavirin therapy .4%. were aware of about adverse effects of Ribavirin therapy. The awareness about ribavirin in managing viral infections was less among dental students. Increased awareness and educational programs should be initiated to spread knowledge about ribavirin therapy.

Herbal medicines reflect a significant portion of new interest in alternative therapies and Ginkgo biloba (GB) features significantly throughout this regard. The GB concentrate and any of its constituents are already thoroughly researched in terms of its impact on behavioral, physiological and psychological consequences linked with neurological and vascular conditions. The purpose of this survey was for assessing the awareness of medical applications of Gingko Biloba amongst dental students. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with a self-administered questionnaire with 10 queries circulated among 100 dental students. The questionnaire assessed the awareness about Ginkgo bilobatherapy in medical applications, their anti-dementia properties, anti alziemer properties, anti-ageing activity, anti-inflammatory activity, and its mechanism of action and side effects. The responses were recorded and analysed.8% of the respondents were aware of the medical applications of Gingko Biloba therapy.6 % were aware of the anti-dementia activity of Gingko Biloba therapy,5% were aware of anti alziemer properties of Gingko Biloba therapy,6% were aware of anti-ageing properties of Gingko Biloba therapy, 5% were aware of anti-inflammatory properties of Gingko Biloba therapy, 5% were aware mechanism of action and side effects of Gingko Biloba therapy. The awareness about the usage of Ginkgo biloba therapy in medicinal applications is low among dental students. Increased awareness programs and sensitization and continuing dental education programs along with greater importance to the curricular modifications, can further enhance knowledge and awareness about Ginkgo biloba therapy.

The Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity (ORAC) assay estimates the suppression of radical-mediated oxidation by molecules of concern. This calculates the quality as equivalent and provides both repression duration and the degree of oxidation suppression. This same test could be used to calculate the antioxidant capacity of nutrition. The survey was performed for assessing awareness of ORAC assay amongst dental students. This was a questionnaire implemented cross-sectional type of survey comprising 100 dental college students in Chennai. A self-designed questionnaire with 10 queries eliciting the knowledge and awareness about applications of the ORAC assay technique was distributed among dental college students. Questionnaires were circulated through an online website survey planet. The questions explored the awareness of ORAC assay technique, diagnostic indications ofORAC assay technique, limitations ofORAC assay technique and mechanism of ORAC assay technique. After the responses were received from 100 participants, data were collected and . 67% of the respondents were aware of the ORAC assay technique .52% were aware of diagnostic indications of the ORAC assay technique. 45%% were aware of the limitations of the ORAC assay technique. 35% were aware of the mechanism of the ORAC assay technique. The awareness about the ORAC assay technique and its applications were less among dental students. Increased awareness and educational programs should be initiated to spread knowledge about the ORAC assay technique among all students and clinicians.

Modafinil was initially evolved by a French neurophysiologist Professor Michel Jouvet. Modafinil started with the late 1970s creation of a progression of benzhydryl sulfinyl mixes, including adrafinil that was used in the management of narcolepsy in 1986. Modafinil is fundamentally utilized for its antisomnic function. The aim of the survey is for assessing the awareness of medical applications of Modafinil therapy amongst dental students. A cross-sectional study was done with a self-administered questionnaire with 10 questions circulated among 100 dental students. The questionnaire assessed the awareness about Modafinil therapy in medical applications, their medicinal uses, antisomnic activity, mechanism of action and side effects. The responses were recorded and analysed. 94 % of the respondents were not aware of medical uses of Modafinil therapy .83 % were not aware of antisomnic activity therapy. 90 % were not aware of the mechanism of action of Modafinil therapy. 85% were not aware of the side effects of Modafinil therapy. The awareness about the use of Modafinil therapy in medical applications is very less among dental students. Increased awareness programs and sensitization and continuing dental education programs along with greater importance to the curricular modifications should be incorporated to improve the awareness levels.

Intrathecal administration includes the immediate infusion of the medication in Cerebro Spinal Fluid(CSF) internal to the intrathecal space of the spinal column. The intrathecal course permits direct medication organization to the CSF by evading the blood-cerebrum hindrance. It permits conveyance of small medication dosages, and the event of adverse effects are decreased compared with systemic courses of medication administration. This survey was performed for assessing the awareness about intrathecal drug administration among dental students. A cross-sectional study was done with a self-administered questionnaire with ten questions circulated among 100 dental students. The questionnaire assessed the awareness about intrathecal drug delivery in medical applications, their medicinal uses, drugs administered, mechanism of action and side effects. The responses were recorded and analysed.17% of the respondents were aware of medical uses of intrathecal drug delivery, 13% were aware of the drugs used in intrathecal drug delivery .10 % were aware of the mechanism of action of intrathecal drug delivery .7% were aware of side effects of intrathecal drug delivery. The awareness about intrathecal drug administration among dental students is not adequate. Increased awareness programs and continuing dental education programs in intrathecal drug delivery should be initiated to improve the awareness levels.

Cryotherapy is the use of cold for either the management of injury or illness, has become common across sports medicine. It remains a well-established procedure for managing serious soft tissue damages. However, there is the disparity between both the theoretical evidence for cryotherapy in clinical trials. This survey was performed for assessing the awareness about cryotherapy in sports medical applications amongst dental students. A cross-sectional study was done with a self-administered questionnaire with 10 questions circulated among 100 dental students. The questionnaire assessed the awareness about cryotherapy in sports medical applications, their medicinal uses, anti-inflammatory activity, mechanism of action and side effects. The responses were recorded and analysed. 87% of the respondents were not aware of medical uses of Cryotherapy.73% were not aware of the anti-inflammatory activity of Cryotherapy.83 % were not aware of the mechanism of action of Cryotherapy. 85% were not aware of the side effects of Cryotherapy. The awareness about the use of cryotherapy in sports medical applications is very less among dental students. Increased awareness programs and sensitization and continuing dental education programs along with greater importance to the curricular modifications in sports dentistry should be incorporated to improve the awareness levels.

After the responses were received from 100 participants, data was collected and analysed.18% are aware about spinal anaesthesia. 15% are aware of the mechanism of administration of spinal anaesthesia. 13% are aware of the indications of spinal anaesthesia. 11% are aware of the contraindications of spinal anaesthesia.9%.are  aware of the complications of spinal anaesthesia. The awareness about spinal anaesthesia was less among dental students. Increased awareness and educational programs should be initiated to spread knowledge about applications of spinal anaesthesia.

Interferon is perhaps the term given to antiviral material formed by many vertebrate cells in reaction to viral infections. Research has established a number of mechanisms involved, in therapeutic benefits of interferon together with antiviral, innate immunity-enhancing and functions. This survey was performed for assessing the awareness about interferon therapy amongst dental students. A cross-sectional survey was performed with a self-administered questionnaire with ten queries circulated among 100dental students. The questionnaire assessed the awareness about Interferon therapy, their medicinal uses, anticancer activity, mechanism of action and side effects. The responses were recorded and .91% of the respondents were not aware of medical uses of Interferon therapy .93%were not aware of anticancer activity of Interferon therapy.93 % were not aware of the mechanism of action of Interferon therapy .96% were not aware of side effects of Interferon therapy. The awareness about the use of interferon therapy is very less among dental students. Increased awareness programs and sensitization programs should be conducted to improve the awareness levels.
